Missing calls? - Samsung Mesmerize

I'm on ec10 pnp voodoo with green steel theme. I have noticed that I am missing calls with no notification. I get a voicemail notice without ever getting a phone call. Is anyone else getting this? Do I need to re flash ec10?

I have the same set-up and don't have any issues. What version of the voodoo are you running? I have jts

3_27 ulv kernel, off the top of my head I believe it was from fascinate but generic enough to use on mesmerize. it seems random though. I've got two bars and 3g coverage. I would love to try the miui alpha but need mms

I had that same issue when I was running that kernel, although I only used that kernel for a couple of days. On three seperate occasions I would look down and see that I had a voicemail but nothing to indicate that I had missed a call. Could just be a coincidence but I thought I would throw it out there.

This is a known issue with the showcase. Mesmerize users might be encountering the same problem.
Noted in original thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1015599

Friend of mine is having this issue. He is on stock 2.2

I think its pretty common all around on the showcase. I have a close friend who has a high call volume and he has 5-10 calls a day (that he knows of from voice mails) that never ring his phone. Have flashed multiple roms, had voicemail pickup time extended, tried several reboots a day. Nothing seems to help.

Notification

I have user superclean and pick n pack roms and tried several kernels but for some reason when I get a notification the sound is extremely laggy and weird sounding I t doesn't do it as bad if the screen is awake but when its off its real bad. Ive even tried moving the tones to the phone memory under notification sounds and its still the same way. It doesn't do this on phone calls just notifications. Is there something in the voodoo control app causing this? I had replaced my old showcase with this new one as I messed the other one up and I never had this problem with it. Any help would be appreciated.

I have had that happen a few times but not consistently. A battery pull usually takes care of it for me.

Yeah ive tried that and it seems to make it better for z little bit but then starts happening again

Scratchy sound from speaker/headphones

I have just started noticing this a couple of days ago. When i am playing music from the speaker or headphones i hear a scratching/popping sound when: i use the touch screen, turn the screen on and off, pretty toggle mobile data. I am running heinz 57. Has anyone else had this problem?

Money does the same thing. Mine like skips really fast.

mine started doing this after I switched to cm7. that's weird, I had assumed it was related to the general instability of gingerbread but if it's happening to h57 people then we have a different problem.

Yeah me either. Youtube and pandora play fine on both mine and my wifes phone and we have same setup other then theme. Heinz and Imnuts 100 Kernel. I use ulitmate honey comb and she uses blue steel.
Tap-a-Talked
I would get feedback when using the puzzle answer option in heinz. Disabled, now it's gone away.
If you have it, check your voodoo control app. Make sure that the main amp is set to 3dB, not 5. 5dB makes it sound bad and may permanently damage your speaker.
Just some ideas.

I did not know this, I have been having this problem also. I exclusively use earbuds with my phone, so I hope that the speaker wouldn't be damaged.

[Q] Constantly Vibrating during call

Okay, I'm running Stock, Rooted.
Randomly, when an incoming call rings, and I answer, the vibrator keeps going full blast throughout the entire call, I usually have to hang up and call them back.
"Hello?" BUZZ BUZZ BUZZ BUZZ "Hey it's me" BUZZ BUZZ BUZZ BUZZ "I need to call you back!"
Could this be due to something I have installed, or is it just another "feature" of our beloved G2x's?
You're not the only one. I've had that happen to me a couple of times too. Not very often but it's happened.
Happened to me too running eaglesblood froyo 105

Happend to me when I got the phone. Been a while since it's happened again.
It was stock and not rooted.

This is a pretty old thread, but it's the only one I could find. I experience this fairly frequently, using kwes' rooted 2.3.4 stock ROM. Anyone have any ideas on how to get it to stop vibrating during the call? TIA.

I absolutely love my G2x, but Im having a few issues

My first issue with my G2x is that when I put my phone in my pocket somtimes and I ull it out to chck for any new text or anything. It has poweed off on its own and I have to power it back on. This usually happens like 3 or 4 times a day.
Second issue is that anytime I make or receive a phone call my phone automatically has the speakerphone on. This happen been happening since day one, rather it is rooted or not.
Third is not actually with the G2x, its more to do with Tmobile.. I have had three replacement phones since I bought my G2x and I asked Tmo CC if I could get a different phone since I have had so many problems with the G2x and have had three replacements within the last two months. And they told me the only other phone I could get was the Sidekick 4G... WTF!!!!!!!! If I wanted to downgrade I would just use my G2 or G1.
Has anyone else had either of these issues, if so how can I fix it? Cuz I refuse to get the Sidekick 4G and dont want to keep having to get relacement.
With TMO it seems like you must get a little lucky. It all depends on the representative you get. I have had better success with being nice and speaking with the next in command. TMO has far surpassed my expectations many times.
What os are you running? Stock? Is it rooted? Have you tried cm7?
I was lucky and got a phone with little to no issues. I do know some folks that had the black screen of death ran cm7 and it went away.

My current G2x is rooted running Weapons 3.0 with the ICS Theme and Droid Bionic Boot Animation. But the others were stock with the Clockmod Recovery flashed to them.
I still get the problems in stock too.I ran MIUI for a while, it didn't have those problems. I installed weapon to get wifi calling. I think CM7 based roms don't suffer from the issues.

I use to have the MyTouch 4g and I had to have it replace 3 times with in a 2 month period. T-Mobile allowed me to replace it with the G2X. So I would contact T-Mobile again and talk to a supervisor. It's better to talk with them and they can help you get a better phone. All they have to do is see how many times you replace the phone. They can look it up and then help you get a new better phone. If they don't threaten to go somewhere else, i'll bet they will help then.

Lol, yea well Im going to have to do that cuz it is getting very annoying to have to turn off the speaker everytime I make or receive a call. And the random powering off is even more annoying.

For the random powering off, have you tried different roms. I'm currently using the Bionix Reloaded rom with the dragon kernel specifically for this rom. I haven't had any real issues. My phone has rebooted twice first week but it was a data issue. Mr. Apocalypse is currently working on the issue and will have a new release out soon. I haven't had any more issues after the first week. Ive had the rom for about 3 weeks.
Also, I did noticed when I used SetCpu and overclocked my phone it heated up really quickly so I had to set it back to it regular clock speeds.
Select "stay awake" in your settings/applications/development. That should help with your screen not turning on when it sleeps also know as (SOD) screen of death. Download the free app "Stay Awake" from the market and you will never have a random reboot again. Its bad on battery life but its much better then missing calls, texts,or alarm clocks.

And its not the ROM your using its the hardware LG built the phone with. I have a LG smart TV that reboots after prolonged use too. I've tried every 3rd party ROM out there and still had random reboots. The best fix I found is my prior post and I run weapon 3.0 with faux kernel.

go for latest eagles blood (his own version not the kang) with latest Trinity elp kernel. Not had one reset, shut down, or hardly any problem at all. I only use roms where I have zero issues, not sure why anyone would do any different.
Honestly with your problems though (as long as your wiping everything when you flash) seem like an actual problem with the phone for sure.

and flash the p990 cam do not do not do not use and other kernel

CM7/MIUI low microphone gain permanent fix/solution

Hi everyone,
Just wondering if anyone has found any solution to overcome the CM7/MIUI low microphone gain issue during voice calls?
The other party on the line barely can hear me during voice calls.
Have searched a lot and haven't found any fix except for the hit mute/unmute during call to temporary (only applies to that call) fix the problem.
Is there any other solution, like replacing system audio driver files from stock/other ROM to fix the low microphone gain issue permanently (well, at least till the next flashing)?
Never had any issue on stock Froyo or Gingerbread. However, not intent to return to stock due to this issue.
I'm on the July 15 baseband with Wind mobile in Canada. Currently using MIUI 2.3.2 with Faux123 048 kernel. Tried stock CM7, Trinity kernels, no go.
My wife has the same phone/system, however she is still on the June baseband. Same low Mic issue applies to hers as well.
Any input is greatly appreciated!

I would love for something as well, this issue seems to be out there for some others phones as well on CM7, i believe their intentions were to reduce background noise. Either way, if anyone steps in that'd be great. I have searched through build props, and system folders looking for anything that says "mic" I got nothing lol. If anyone has any thing they think I should search through I have time today so give me any ideas.

Couldn't agree more! I found as well that it has something to do with CM7's reduced microphone gain values to prevent voice distortion. Read about library file libaudio.so might as well "involved".
It is not that significant, however I'm using the phone frequently for voice calls and always mute/unmute is a little annoying.
I customized, fine tuned everything else to my needs and if this thing would finally get sorted as well i could lay back and fully enjoy my device (kidding, still would messing around with flashing around).

Exactly my thoughts, that's my only true complaint about CM7. People don't seem to realize it though I don't know if they are the type that always talk loud or what lol... but I definitely noticed and know its true cause I restored my 2.2 left my self a voicemail & recorded with voice record... and then went CM7 and left a voicemail and voice recording and it was crazy different playing through speakers and through earpiece. So I don't know what else to do....

yup, I tried GetRIL and tried all the different RILs (rebooting after installing each) and no difference. It's definitely something in the CM code. Somehow it doesnt react well with this phone's mic setup.
hope it gets fixed cause i'm never going back to stock.... soooo slow

Hi mt3g,
Read that you're using ICS. Just wondering if you feel any improvement mic/voice-wise compared to CM7? If so, which kernel are you using it with?
Thanks in advance for your input!

Part of this problem is the ROM and part of it is the kernel. CyanogenMod had this really bad at one point and they fixed it a little with a kernel tweak and then improved it a little more with a change in some of the audio drivers. So, it is hard to get it right. I have not really ever had this problem and I have been running MIUI GB based with the Trinity Kernel by Morfic (if that helps anyone).
Ya all of what I presumed it seems to be a hit or miss but it isn't just the g2x, which made me believe that it really is an issue even though people don't have it. I don't talk loud on the phone but maybe I need to start lol... either way willing to deal with it... p.s. I had the issue on all miui roms all kernels no matter what I tried.

Bump
There's an excellent initiative from r4d14n7 resolving this issue.
If you affected by this low mic problem, please read the OP in his thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1633966
and leave your feedback for the CM team. Hopefully it well be sorted.
