[Q] BLN Notification

Forgive me if this has been asked before, but I couldn't find anything related to my issue. I'm trying to get BLN Notification lights to work on my Nexus S, and I've already tried a few kernels, netarchy, matr1x, and trinity, but they all have the same result. The light shows up for one or two seconds, then it turns off. I've also tried the SuperOSR rom and the same thing happens. I'm currently using MIUI.us 1.9.16. Is this how it's supposed to be? Any suggestions?
PS, a couple times, it did stay on (until I turned the screen on), but it is not consistent.

Do you have the bln pro app from the market?
if the skies the limit, where's the urgency?

You need the pro version to edit the settings.

Actually, I don't want it to blink. I'm fine with just the static light, and the problem is that the light does not stay on. I understand that the static light is available for the free version and blinking requires the pro version.

It's not blinking that he's talking about. For me I get a notification then the BLN turns on, 2 seconds later it turns off. If I wake the display without unlocking the phone then turn the display off again the BLN will turn back on and stay on indefinitely. But the initial BLN only lasts 2 seconds.
I'm also on the Free version.

Yup, that's exactly my situation. I also noticed that after it turns off, and you tap it, it'll stay on.

I didn't notice that but same here! Tapping it after it turns off does indeed turn it back on indefinitely. I'm on the latest TEUV kernel btw.

Ah yes, I've tried the latest TEUV kernel for MIUI as well, but no dice. Even on a fresh install.

Lol I wish I had your issue. Only reason I like BLN is because I can make my phone not wake up when receiving a notification and instead just display the backlights. Saves on battery I think.

Isn't mathkids kernel bln baked in so it works without a program? It shouldn't be the apps problem if it wont work on matrix. Check any scripts you have running that will interfere

Guys i found the fix from a fellow XDA member here.
You need to enable LED from settings, personal, LED settings.
Strange since i thought those settings attained only to phone with dedicated LED's, but apparently not!

CM10 vibration & haptic feedback

I just flashed the new CM10 m2 release and am new to cm... I was looking around the settings to try and turn down the vibration intensity and haptic feedback... Does anyone know how to do this or is there and app in the play store that can accomplish this task? As always, thanks for the help guys!

Did you ever figure this out? I flashed CM10 this morning and cannot for the life of me get the haptic feedback to turn off when typing out text messages.

It's under sound settings... you can turn haptic feedback off completely.

I've been wondering the same thing. The intensity is waaay to strong and I'd rather not turn off Haptic feedback completely.

Anybody?

How do we turn down the haptic intensity, without turning it completely off? The haptic feedback in GS3 SGH-I747 (AT&T) is WAY too strong on the current CM10 M2 nightly. I am guessing you guys on Verizon GS3's are having the same issue
There is a setting under System>Notification Drawer>Haptic Feedback which has the options of "On," "Off," and "Use global setting." I've looked everywhere else, and there is no global setting change that I could find.

Far as I know there is no way to adjust the haptic feedback besides on and off at the user level. It's something controlled by the ROM. Different ROMs could possibly have lower levels.
And I believe the global setting is referring to silent/silent+vibrate/sound/sound+vibrate far as notifications from everything.
I very well could be wrong on both accounts so don't take my word as gospel.

If you flash ktoonz kernel, he has a setting for vibration intensity under 'extras'

This seems to be the only fix out there. I'm from D2TMO side and I'm searching all around the world for a script or something to change this without having to flash a kernel. Has anyone taken the Ktweaker app out of the kernel and tried that?
Edit: attempted myself no go. Just FC over and over, won't even open as I expected.

Just a quick note that may help others, my vibrate was very weak and I have cm10.2 and stock dual boot with googy. I managed to fix my problem via stweaks. I have it installed because of the dual boot and under misc is a vibrate intensity options that I can now adjust at will! All the best,

That would be pretty annoying if I couldn't turn it off. It's for blind people. You must have turned it on when playing with the settings.
Go to settings, then Accessibility, then talk back, then the switch in the top right corner.

I just upgraded from ICS to JB.. Already turn off that TalkBack.. Still same..

Have you tried to turn off the Whatsapp off under accessibility?
And by the way, S-Voice has nothing to do with the problem here. Its all got to do with some setting under accessibility.

Problem solved.. I just did wipe data / factory reset.

Haptic no longer working

Even though I enabled vibrate on touch in my sound settings, I never get haptic feedback for anything. I've enabled haptic in my SwiftKey settings as well, but no dice. Weird thing is, I could have sworn I had haptic when I first got this phone, but now it's gone and I can't fathom why. Has anyone had this issue before?

Couple if things. I had to go into the SwiftKey settings and turn up keyless vibration from to to 25. After that you may have battery saver enabled which would turn off your vibration

I have owned OPO for few days and probably on 2nd day I lost the vibration. This was driving me crazy for last few days, I even raised a ticket with OPO hardware thinking the motor is shot but then I can see that the phone vibrates on bootup. I recently came across someone saying that the file sys/devices/virtual/timed_output/vibrator/enable value staying as 0 is causing the motor to not work. Come to think of it, I started using profiles and quiet hours from next day.
I don't know if there's a workaround editing the enable file value to 1? I think my notification LED light is also not working cause of the issues with quiet hours.

I just wanted to say that my haptic feedback suddenly went away as well. Does anyone have any new leads regarding this?

I have found this to be related to the Quiet Hours functionality. Even if I am not in an active quiet profile, the haptic feedback does not function. By fully disabling the Quiet Hours functionality, the haptic feedback was restored.

[Q] weird dialer glitches?

anyone else have an issue where when in dialer and they press the button to go to the number screen they have to press it twice. Everytime I press it, it opens a blank screen and I have to back out then press it again to make the numbers appear. This is between 2 nexus 5's now. My replacement does the same thing. I thought it was a glitch from romming my phone but since google sent me my new one it does it to on stock rooted rom.
Also When I unplug my headset it goes straight to speaker mode and I have to press the button twice to turn it off. Also between 2 phones.
Just want to know if this is an issue for most or just me, and it would be weird its happening with both phones. Thanks

thanks, just glad to know Im not alone. Sure L will fix this. I would install another dialer but its one of those things I like to just be stock

This happens to me when I turn off animations in Developer Options.
