Optimus 3d shipping with 7 (seven) 3D games

Huge ad in swedish free newspaper Metro today, O3D sell start on july 1 and includes 7 games in 3d. Also says that 4 of them are on voucher. The ad shows asphalt 6 which is part of the 3 known games. No idea which the 4 new games are...
Great deal, the evo 3d only features a demo.

Good to see that they are trying hard to support this device with 3D-content right from the beginning.

I would like to know if the LG can play normal 3D Games in stereo 3D?

Just found another hint at more launch-games (than we knew before).
The Optimus 3D also allows for 3D gaming. Thanks to LG’s partnership with Gameloft, three games are preloaded on the device with the option to download an additional seven games via Wi-Fi for free (data charges will apply over 3G).

I guess the truth is somewhere between 7 and 10 then. ^^ (whether them being 3D or not has to be seen)

i can see spiderman 3D and assassin creed 3D in the store. and they aren't free.
i saw the yesterday,and today there are many others:

this is why i like O3D more than the evo...
O3D has more and better 3D contents.
after all the waiting, hope LG will continue to push 3D contents on their phone.
what's the point of buying a 3D phone anyway if you don't have anything to do with it.

on the uk spec o3d you get pre installed nova, asphalt 6, lets golf 2 and gulliver's travels, then there is a app which takes you to a store which offers avatar 3d, real football 2011 3d, assassins creed altair's chronicles 3d, and spiderman total mayhem 3d for £0.99 each

Thats cheap! I have sold my Desire HD and have been ready for Galaxy S2.
But I have seen LG Optimus 3D today and that`s what I want!... Just worrying about all that 3D headaches and other unpleased stuff :-(

[Q] Evo 3D or Optimus 3D (Europe)

Hello, I live in Spain, and here still have not the Evo 3D and it's not clear if it will arrive in this month (as HTC Facebook Spain said) or it will be delayed until September as in U.K. is said.
Well the question is:
Buy right here inmediatelly a cheaper Optimus 3D or wait for very expansive Evo 3D ?
So... Is there anyone that really had test both of them ?
I have all technical information, and I've seen the Dogfight comparison video but these really doesn't help my in my decission.
I am very interested in game compatibility, the GPS behaviour, battery duration and internet browsing experience.
All information about these things will be really appreciated Thanks in advance for your help.

so what i heard is, that the 3D thing is better on the LG phone, but i only can say, that the 3D effect on the LG is very cool.
i know: the EVO 3D can't make 2D videos in FullHD. The LG can.
The Evo has more RAM, but until now i cant notice that 512MB aren't enough.
I would recommend the LG phone. I am very happy with it.

All I can tell is that LG Optimus 3D is fantastic,great quality,beautifull screen,very fast and 3D looks amazing I think you should go with LG O3D

Thanks a lot, but I had seen those videos before and really didn't answer my questions about compatibility and GPS

i dont think that there are huge differences in these points. so the hardware is almost equal. i use the optimus 3D for navigation. no problems with that.
internet browsing the same. after gingerbread update both standard browser will be the same. i use opera for browsing. its the best for me.
i am not a gamer so i cant tell you anything about that, but both Evo and LG are highend phones... so the differences in those things will be minimal.
that the evo cant record in fullHD was the main reason for me against the evo. ...and of course the price AND that the LG is available in europe
but of course... if you are nut sure.. just wait till you can test the evo by your self. have you looked into EVO 3D forum? perhaps there are more information about that.

Well I dont have Evo 3D but I had same dillema last week ,and I chosed O3D...
I do not know what you mean when you say compatibility, but I can tell you that GPS works great on O3D.. it find's signal very quickly even when I am in the house

LG Optimus 3D can run NVIDA Tegra games..

Yes I noticed that too, I've never had a phone (or any other GPS device) before that got a GPS lock in my house, these must have a very sensitive receiver.

Everything works just fine ,apps and games are not the problem

thanks a lot everybody, and excuse me for my bad english, I think I'm gonna try to pickup the Optimus 3D this weekend.

Game compatibility is better on O3D, because it has older PowerVR SGX540, which is widely supported. evo3d has adreno220 which is new chip and thus can have compatibility problems.
evo3d has higher resolution which is not fully supported in some applications.
Many users are complaining of crooked display on evo3d.
O3D`s display has much better brightness and contrast.
GPS in evo3d is poor. You can find threads on web about its inaccuracy.
I have found evo3d to be quite buggy device which has only one advantage to O3D. more RAM.

The Optimus has one more proved advantage. It has native support for 3D MKV movies. No need to convert at all if you have a huge enough memory card.
As the others already mentioned the GPS is VERY GOOD. I get a fix in under 5 sec with iGo.

Really thanks a lot to everybody.
Now I am looking for the device, I hope I can get one tomorrow.

Cannot agree more with the speed for GPS. Coming from SGS where the GPS is simply useless as you'll need to give it 5 minutes to get it fixed for 5 sec.
Also the GPS that comes with O3D is as fast as my Garmin-Asus M10 which is interesting

how and where can i get some 3D pictures for my LG Optimus 3D ?
and when i get it, is there a special way to view it?
i looked every where and the only 3D pictures i got is the one i take with it's own Camera.

To be fair some people might not know that even in the normal youtube app if you search for "yt3d enable true" it will show you 3D videos.

thanks for the sarcastic tone. I know there are 3D YouTube videos and I've been using it, what I ment was an app that's built specially for this. just made easy like this Phereo 3D to view and download 3D videos. there are thousands of apps in the market and there might be one for 3D videos only.

Anyway, there is precious little decent 3D content for TVs let alone what I would expect to be an even smaller market, 3D Smartphones. So I would be surprised if there was an app specific for this.
I have an LG TV and Sony 3D Blu-ray player and the 3D apps on both those are pretty rubbish, its mostly movie trailers and random clips designed to show off the effect such as short wildlife videos. So I can't imagine them bothering with Android when they haven't even made a decent effort for TVs. So far, all my 3D content comes from either YouTube or Blu-ray.

Here's an article that includes an Interview with an LG representative about 3D phones and the O3D: link
It says among other things:
- 1 million+ sales for O3D
- 0,5 million sales for Max (in South Korea only)
LG still believes in 3D, but not for now, but in the coming years.
The article makes all usual mistakes in believing that the O3D came too early. It also mostly only speaks about the 3D screen. (and ignores the much more important 3D camera).
I have made a (lengthy) response, in which I make a case for:
- bad support form LG
- ghost call issues
- phone lacking just the right specs to succeed (too fat, too slow, too little memory)
- people who had / saw the O3D loved the 3D effect
- 3D camera being more important then 3D screen (too small for movies, target audience is not the gaming audience per se)
If you agree, please like my response, or give simular responses.
Since LG was interviewed for this article, they may track it, and the responses.
they may become aware of the terrible support of the O3D, and see that there's still a living society that loves 3D phones, as long as LG supports it!!!

I highly admire what u did ..but o3d is not getting support because 3d is not well known or used over the world ..but in the coming years I believe we will see alot of advance ..
And LG forgot about O3d for now ..
For me its a great device but the lack of speed kills me as I depend on my phone alot in my daily life ..

I have inatalled some 3d videos from youtube and teied 3d player from play store...
But not much difference.

Ofcourse i think u did not get my point...or u r not aware.
Actually i saw 3D movie on one my friend 6 inch tab...video was showing real 3d with blue red eye glass on tab...
Tab was very cheap approx 5000...with low hardware details...
So i suppose to see 3d videos on my moto g 3.
And looking forward for this...

Just default player....

Im almost 100% sure that only 3D displays can show 3D videos/images. I could be wrong though.
