So, i changed the hex values for the systrybackground in the light theme, but it didn't change. Even after a system restart and a theme change. Can anyone shed any light on this?

Did you make sure to keep the first 2 FF when adding the color of your choice? The code has to have 8 characters

Ok so im porting over some bootscreens and im using photoshop cs4. i was shown how to do this by a friend using layers and copying and pasting the png's into each layer. Im looking for an easier way of doing this cause there are over 300 png's to be put into layers. is there an easier way or not? If so then please post a link explaining how or explain yourself thanks
Download a program like PS called Gimp. You can open the a folder as layers. So as long as the are in saved in consecutive ending numbers ie 1, 2, 3 it will put them in the correct order and all you have to do is save it as an animation and you are good to go.

yeah i figured that out after i posted but im having a problem cause its over 300 png's and when i save it as an animation it doesnt show all the layers or the colors. its all in black and white and looks horrible.
Okay. Start fresh. Open all the pngs in Gimp. If you did anything other than crop in PS it will not play nice. And I hope you have lots of RAM. Make sure you saved as indexed and 256 colors.
Or post the gif and I will fix it.

I got it. So go ahead.
Do you have Google Talk logged in? [email protected] So, I can ask a question.
Is the one red png in the folder by itself the last frame?
I will work on this tomorrow at the office. My computer there has more RAM. My laptop just won't handle it.

Hey sorry got late and passes out. I do have Google talk. Under cbarlan. And yes that is final frame for loading.
if you're coming up black and white for the gif in gimp, you have to change it to rgb then save as animation, then it will ask to index the colors, and give you option of gray scale or color

Can I change it to rgb after gimp layers all the pngs or do I have to change each PNG before I layer them. Only asking cause there are a bunch of pngs. Like 330 of them.
you apply it once all layers are loaded. It does all at once. You can do this with color type, scaling size, and changing hue. Great for theming

Okay. Well, I finished your bootscreen. It's booting and playing. I will email you the zip. Let me know if any problems.
Does anyone know what is the hexadecimal code for the cyan colour on the app? Or is there a way to find out?

I have been trying to get the Dialer screen to be transparent. Most of it has been done except a dark band where the tapped numbers appear. Can't seem to find the settings for this in DialerTabActivity.apk in xml or image files. Screen attached. Is this a framework edit? A little guidance please?

I'm not too sure myself. However, what you have looks great. When you black out the phone background, or make that transparent, can you post that one or give me a copy? IMO, it looks good. Good job, neo.

Here's the version with all blacks. Only the Numbers have the blue underlines as in the transperant version. I liked this one too. I hope this is what you were looking for.
I believe it's call_dial_panel_bg.png isn't it?

That image I already edited. Has not made a difference.
You have to nake a transparent color in colors.xml, the image is called dial_edit_btn or close to that name... To make the dialer transparent xml colors must be changed also and styles
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I997 using xda premium
That box is not an image. It is a color found in the res/values/colors.xml.
Look for <color name="tw_color002">#FF000000</color> and change it to <color name="tw_color002">#00000000</color>. That will make that little box transparent. However, you will run into an issue...there is another xml that calls that color for text. Your text will be invisible. So you need to edit that xml to call on a different color code. Find the file layout/dialer_searchdialog_contents...in it you will see several places that call on the color/tw_color002 line in the color.xml. Simply change those codes to tw_color017, which happens to have the value FF000000, and your text issue will be nonexistent.
Good luck.
Thanks Dman and Nunhugger. Collective Rox.

I have 3 aqpk's, two are black and blue and one is black an red - notifications. I'm using one of them with Swift Dark and they don't interfere with the Substratum Theme.

No, you just install the apk and reboot. If you're not happy menu>settings>apps>uninstall>reboot and you're right back where you started.

Just download the apk you want, place it on your sdcard or internal storage. On your phone go to my files>sdcard or internal storage>tap the file and select install. It will say something like are you sure and you will take you to security>unknown sources> push that tab to the right and go on with the installation. When and if you want to uninstall go to menu>settings>apps>look for the apk you installed and then uninstall it.

Saw the non - rooted method. Wondering what the rooted method was? Searched and couldn't really find anything except rebuilding the theme. Which I think is the non rooted method.

Rooted method would be recompiling framework-res and push it back in system.
The colors.xml need to be changed.

*- notification_title_color = main notif text color
- notification_info_color = affects time & " X new messages" header
- notification_text_color = notif content color.
- notification_default_color = affects notif action buttons & non-accent app name & icon color

eNubiX is really nice, thank you!
I think I should try the red one but I am now sick of restarting my phone. I do agree that you should have provided screenshots.
Thanks again for sharing them!
I think I know why no one wanted to put up the screenshots. These APKs will darken your notifications, but does not actually change them. They are still all the black background with hard-to-read dark grey writing and teal accents. I was really hoping for notifications with a black background with white writing and red highlights.
What the APKs did do was change my settings area, but everything does that. I'm attaching the 3 screenshots so everyone can see.
I hope we get a true way to change the background, text and accent color on our notifications some day. It seems so simple it should be part of stock Android.
The quick settings font is not changing with my system font. And the worst part is I really hate the font that is used in the quick settings. I was wondering if anyone knew what is going on and if there is a way to change the QS font.
Any help is appreciated.
P.S. I uploaded the two images to show how the font in QS is different from my system font in settings.
No one knows about this issue? I've tried everything to fix it, but it seems that strange font stays in QS no matter what. I've watch videos on YT and others do not have this font in QS. How could it be my phone is locked on this font?
Your font that you show in QS was like that out of the box? Because that definitely isn't Samsung/OneUI's system font. FWIW, my QS font changes to whatever I set in Settings>Display.

I don't recall what it was out of the box because one of the first things I did was install Hex. But no matter what I do it stays on that font. I even bought some fonts in the samsung theme store and nothing changes it. I'm guessing only a factory reset will fix it at this point. I'm thinking something do to with hex maybe caused it. Perhaps uninstalling hex and applying the default theme will fix it. idk. It's crazy that no matter what I do that font stays the same in QS; it changes everywhere else, just not QS.

I don't think #hex will change the font, it says something about it not being able to when I try to select a custom font from the theme builder. But yeah, you've only had the device a short time; I'd just do a reset if I was you. I don't much anymore, but resetting my phone was a fairly common thing once upon a time lol

Something glitched out on my phone. I know #hex can't change the font, but something changed it and will not allow it to change again lol. I just hate not knowing how to fix something or why something is wrong to begin with.
ugh, I hate factory resets. It takes me a long time to set up my phone. I customise so much stuff :/

I hear ya, but hell... Is it really worth the worry? Lol Just be done with it man. Maybe you went through the theme application sequence wrong in #hex? Default, hex+(it whatever it's called), high contrast, then new theme. Heck, I don't even remember the sequence right now.
