Never Kill Specific Background Application

Friends,
I would like to figure out a method to ALWAYS keep Better Terminal Emulator running in the background after I have sent it to the background. I would like for Android to never kill this application.
I understand the normal Android framework automatically kills applications in the background when running low on memory, but I want this single application to stay active regardless of system performance. The goal is to run command-line tools/scripts in the background without fear that they will be randomly closed by Android.
Is there such a method? I have root on my device. Thank you.

Try supercharger script and put terminal on whitelist

That's one way, but you can also use an init.d script to do it, I've got the info at home and I'm at work right now. I'll up it later.

Another way would be to use an arm version of gnu screen.
I used to do this on my T-mobile g1 which only had 60mb of ram. Worked just fine and had the added bonus of allowing multiple terminals.

We're currently using Android Tuner's existing source code to rebuild BMW and ST from scratch, this is a lot of work and requires a lot of manual handling to avoid these:
- A 10MB APK instead of today's 2MB APK.
- A near-bug-free experience, beta testing will run for a long time with selected users, depending on users' feedback and app usage.
- Accurate data migration for user switching from 2.x to 3.0 without data loss.
- Removing features from BMW without breaking the app (battery data)
- Keeping a low memory footprints splitting UI and services components
- Keeping app performance as high as possible (version checks at run time)
- Removing features using new permissions without breaking the app (sms, contacts, etc). More than 20 permission in AT!
Note that the above is very complex and represents a lot of work, so it will take time before 3.0 is actually published.

Could be because of the customized rom, I'm a newbie with x10, just installed the blue spark rom on my 2nd day use, because of the flop score... I tried all day yesterday downloading the widget, search the web for fixes, but no, the download just won't start (or finish)! Really want to try this app to see cpu mhz & usage on "front panel"!
I even used the SDK and emulate avd to download the file...
May be u would consider posting it here? Oh, I even installed Slide 4.0, but they don't have your app, may be u can post there as an alternative? Can download there no problem, just tried aiSystem.

Great app.
I've been using it for a couple of weeks and has alot of info in a tiny 1x1 space.
I put free memory on top, cpu speed at the bottom, cpu load and free internal memory on the sides.

Any thoughts about combining your battery monitor widget functions and tying the battery consumption to the process? Maybe I'm over(under)thinking it, but being able to see graphically process history vs battery consumption per process would be very helpful to narrowing down inefficient apps.

Thank you for your time, me and my small team are just about to release an android app for andorid phones` cleaning and maintainance. This app will be the terminator of android caches and residual files, and turns out to be the realsense of one- tap solution for your phones lol
So, I`ve got this problem of naming one of our function taps, basically this function is for boosting memory of android phone by killing running tasks. We`ve done several versions beta test and got feedbacks on the name of this function, ppl may prefer "Memory Boost" rather than "Task Killer" We`re really kinda confusing on this coz we`re from China we know little about other cultures& usages,so pls kindly help me out on this, pls?
Below is the alternative options for naming the function, pls leave your choice below and a breif explainations will be highly appreciated
Or if you`ve got better options it`s also highly welcomed

The stupidest thing you can do to Android these days is to use a so-called cleaner / booster app: Android is smart enough to use the system resources like CPU / RAM perfectly.

[Q] Moto G too aggressive about freeing memory - related to swappiness setting?

I have had my Moto G LTE xt1045 since they first came out and have been very happy with it except for this issue. It is very aggressive about suspending/killing apps. You notice this when you try to switch back and forth between two apps and find that it is restarting the other app instead of resuming it. It's especially noticeable when switching between a browser and another app. Another example is that I was using navigation and tried to use the NPR app to listen to some programs, but it would only do one or the other.
I realize that the phone only has 1 GB of memory, but it seems over-aggressive at freeing memory - doesn't it? I'd like to hear feedback from others about this.
In my searches for further information, it seems that one thing that can be tuned is swappiness. On my stock phone, the swappiness is set to 60. Have people experimented with different values?
My phone is not rooted yet as I've been reasonably happy with the stock experience. But I'm willing to root if it will allow a solution to this problem.

I was facing the same problem, I really hated that it closed the apps so aggressively. This was one of the main reasons I rooted. I don't know about swappiness, but there is a file: sys/module/lowmemorykiller/minfree which handles when the OS will kill different types of apps. If you root and download MinFreeManager you can easily edit this file. If you want more information on this topic, just search for "minfree" here on the forums. After using this app I've been happier with how memory is handled, but of course it is still only 1GB. Also it's worth mentioning that the values in the minfree file are reverted to default on boot. There are workarounds for that, event MinFreeManager has an "Apply on boot" setting, but it doesn't work for me. However it takes like 3 taps to set the values manually.

OK, I've been using MinFreeManager for a bit now and it has solved all my multitasking issues. I used this guide: Fine tuning the MinFree settings (improving on Android's multitasking) with the aggressive settings.

Just flashing the Franco kernel won't fix things?
Also the Android one phones with just 1gb memory performs a lot better at multitasking than G
Somebody with the skills should really look into how google is managing ram in that phone.
Seriously it multitasks like a dream.

No, the kernel is not the issue. It's a config file on the phone that tells android how much memory to keep free - if you follow the link in my previous post, you can read all about it and understand the issue.
It is a phone setting that Motorola changed in 4.4.4. With default settings, you will find that apps are killed by android when you switch to another app and the first app has to be restarted from scratch when you switch back to it. MinFreeManager fixes the issue - but you have to be rooted to use it. Your Android One just has less aggressive default minfree memory settings.

I see. Also one more thing I observed on Android One was that google play services was using 1/4th the ram it uses on my G . there was always 500 mb free ram

Please help me with this by commenting an unmentioned root application.
Please note that the following applications are NOT IN ORDER​
1. Greenify - Sometimes your android battery really drains without knowing the reason. If you have experienced leaving your android on a 77% battery in the evening and in the next morning you'll find it on 42% or something like that. Well say no more, because this app can save your battery life by hibernating those battery draining applications with one simple click, or you can just put the app into Auto-Hibernation mode. All you have to do is to register the application that is draining your battery life and you'll see Greenify do its magic.
2. Titanium Backup - The free version has all of your basic needs when it comes to backing up, with the PRO version of this you can unlock a lot of extra feature. Other than that this application really does the trick when you want to back up your applications, might be the best backup app in the Play Store.
3. Xposed - Hate flashing ROMs? Want extra features on your android? Got KitKat only but want to have Android M and N features? Then this is for you mate! I mean you don't want to feel outdated right? You can browse inside it and find modules the suites your wants, from customizing your androids looks, getting extra tweaks and more. Has tons of them and i ain't joking.
4. Flashify - FLASH EM ALL! If you always tend to flash zip files, boot images or if you even want to flash TWRP or CWM recovery then look no further The FLASHify is here. uhh.. get it? no? k then
5. Boot Animations - Gotten tired of the boot animation of yours? Yes i know that you have been seeing that for years, if you want to make that animation of yours cool then download this app, it has tons of animations inside, feel free to browse em, although you ought to be careful when your about to change your animation as you might get stuck in a bootloop.
6. GL Tools - Anyone have a low end device? Need to play a High Spec Game? Then try this app. The magic it does is to simply render the game as low as possible in order to make it run faster. You can also fake your device into Tegra or something like those in order to play the games smoothly. Some people saw the changes on their game that it became faster, while some did not experienced any changes. I myself am using this and i can really tell that it does have difference than running the game without GL Tools.
7. Roehsoft RAM Expander - Gonna ask again anyone still have a low end device? Fret not my friend, this app is for you. If you happen to have a Class 4 SD Card or above then try this app. It creates a Virtual Memory that will run when the internal RAM needs to "take the load off". You'll see the difference i tell you than without this app but only if that SD card of yours is Class 4 or above or otherwise, no effect at all.
8. Busy Box - EVERY ROOTED APPLICATION NEEDS THIS AND THATS THAT.
9. Root Browser - It ain't the browser you think. Its a File browser. This app can go deep into the system whether your a developer yourself and you want to get some extra tweaks or that root of yours got into some problem. You can use this app to also edit them or put something new into the android system however you also need to have an experience at this or simply that you must know what you're doing.
10. Set CPU - Its back! Yes the developer came back (Same goes for me. Sorry for the hiatus of the thread ) Anyways SetCPU is a tool for changing the CPU frequency to the way you like. It can improve your performance, battery or you can improve both of them. I personally used this app way back and yes it really does save battery and it increases the android performance by using some set profiles.
11. Kernel Adiutor - Has some features like Set CPU but this app is packed with more. Most of the feature has of course, have something to do with the android kernel. It also has some extra features like the init. d editor (good for tweaking )
12. Amplify - MORE BATTERY LIFE! Yes you heard that right, this app blocks unnecessary wakelocks which is the culprit in draining that battery of yours. Well worry no more, just install the app and it will do the rest. Buying the other version has some extra features in which you can edit certain numbers.
13. Viper4Android - What this app does is to basically improve the sound output of the android device to make it more seemingly pleasant to your liking. Has tons of options. Check it out
14. System App Remover - App name says it all
15. Super SU - Do i really have to put the description?

Yes its safe. I downloaded it and currently using it on my "Pre-historic" Samsung GT S5300 Android 2.3.6 rooted Hyperion 8 Rom. Unfortunately cant happen to make it work on my Moto G 2014 Android 5.0.2

Yes it is. Well the website is pretty much a damn thing but it is safe. Downloaded the app and my Norton Internet Security scanned it and nothing is found.

The first thing to mention for Rooted users is Xposed framework!!
