[Q] SAmsung captivate unlocked froyo????? - Captivate General

Hi, I am new, and I got a doubt!!
I bought a Samsung Captivate Unlocked, and I want to upgrade it to froyo via samsung kies mini, but I am afraid that if I do that I might lose the unlock!!
What should I do??
PD: My carrier is Movistar - Ecuador

Don't update through kies
If you want a 2.2 rom that looks and feels like the stock captivate froyo, try Cognition 4.3.

there are plenty of apps to UNLOCK your phone no matter what. pointless buying one pre-unlocked...

[Q] If upgrade unlocked Samsung vibrant to froyo 2.2, will it lock the phone again?

Update for Samsung vibrant is available for t-mobile using kies. If upgrade unlocked Samsung vibrant using kies to froyo 2.2, will it lock the phone again?
No, it will not.
I have recently done the same thing.
I am using my Vibrant on AT&T as we speak with stock 2.2
I would still recommending using a custom rom though, I am testing stock and it has occasional lag spikes, which I cannot explain. And I have not found a reliable lag fix for stock 2.2 yet.

Yes I agree with whoever is above me.
Stock shouldn't mess anything like that up, but there is a possibility. I would recommend using a custom rom also.
As a noob what would you recommend as a decent safe custom ROM?

Telus Samsung Galaxy S2X 4.0.4 Update?

Hi guys, I was wondering if there was any Telus 4.0.4 updates for the S2X and how would I install it. I am fairly new to this flashing and rooting stuff. I'm just afraid I may brick my phone and.. of course nobody would want that since that pretty much sucks.
I found some 4.0.4 ROMs or something for Koodo and T-Mobile S2Xs but I'm looking for one for my Telus phone and how would I install it. Just to be more brief, my phone is unlocked by the way.
Thanks for any replies.

[Q] Alltel SCH-R760 Help (Flashing)

The other day I let the Samsung Company lead me when they said there was an update for my phone. Thinking that I would enjoy the lovely 4.0 ICS as a change from the Nice 2.3.6 GB. I let Samsung talk me into flashing my alltel phone. Low and behold they gave me a USC flash to replace my current Alltel network. This is the first time doing something this drastic to my cellphone and now I don't have any data communication on my phone. Does anyone know where I can find an alltel gingerbread flash for the Galaxy S2 SCH-R760. I've searched (what I feel as) Everywhere and can't find anything. My phone is only 2-3 months old so I would prefer not to root it.

I am trying to root.. I also have Alltel Samsung Galaxy S II 4.52 inch Model SCH-R760.. It's also running stock Gingerbread 2.3.6, and since there won't be any OTA Official updates for this particular model, I am going to try to root and update to ICS or Jellybean.. I have looked at several forums, and I have never root before.. Yep I'm a NOB.. Can anyone help me, who has this device and successfully rooted..
Of course I would rather not root, but to the best of my knowledge, it's the only way I will be able to get ICS or Jellybean..
