So yesterday I got my new nexus S!! And I just had a question
can the vibrating setting be changed into another vibrating tone... because I'm not a fan of this annoying vibration when I'm texting and I don't like to have vibration off so thanks you for your response

Hey guys, I'm running cm7 on my nexus s 4g and sometimes when the screen is off the soft key backlight comes on. Wondering if I'm the only one with this issue.

I think that is the BLN (back light notification)
It's suppose to come on when the screen is off if you have a text message or something like that.
Look for an app on the Market called "BLN" to turn it off

Yeah, I hate when that happens ill do some research and see if I see anything. Two heads are greater than one.

Lol that happens to me too. You could just turn down/off the notification sound or just make your text tone shorter ;D

Ok I think I found the answer. Go into settings and then go to call settings. Then go to call alerts and uncheck alerts on call this should do the trick.

Thanks a lot I'm going to try it

No problem. This should work, I have verified it on my own device.

Ever since i got my phone the vibrate never worked on notifications and calls. When i set the vibrate strength the phone vibrates but i do not know why its not working when ppl are contacting me. My settings are all set to vibrate. Something wrong with my device?

Just started using this because hangouts was being funky with group text. The system UI is amazing but its sort of sluggish. Is it just my phone or is the app that slow?

I have experienced a bit of lag on Hello SMS as well. Personally, I use Evolve SMS or another sms app built off of the AOSP one (the AOSP one is really smooth )
On my old phone lg p990, Hello SMS was not lagging at all. Here on my nexus 5, its a bit "sloppy" don't know whats up with that, maybe they changed somthing in the new updates.

I just really like the UI and the fact that the messages pop up even though I'm using immersive mode

I emailed them and told them about the issue so I guess if I don't see an update soon I will stay on it. I really didn't have an issue with hangouts until my text started randomly disappearing.
