[Q] Found phone - Samsung Galaxy S (4G Model)

The other day i found the Galaxy s and dont use android cause i have a HD2 but was wondering if there is a way to reflash the phone so everything gets deleted off it, was gonna possibly give it to my brother or sell. I know Verizon uses CDMA as a band but is there anyway to use it for tmobile? Dont think so but someone might know more. Thanks!

whats up with posting two threads?
I would find the number or person that it belonged to and return it to them. Thats just me though. If I lost my phone I would like someone to do the same.

TP2 on Boost. What do I do If I want to sell to somebody else with Boost?

Looking to sell my TP2 on boost currently. What will the person buying the phone have to do to get it working on their account? I know I'd turn my phone off for starters. Do they just give boost the ESN that was programmed to it and edit the MSID and such in the EPST? Or am I missing something?
Nobody have any ideas at all?
I got my answer from the guys over at PPC. Might as well just stay over there! You guys are no help at all.
I would only assume that since the Dec is already entered into the system, even if the phone's service was turned off you wouldn't have much of a problem, but you never know what your going to run into. I've had to switch back and forth between my TP2 and an old moto krzr, but that was from within my already existing account. If you find out the correct answer I would appreciate it if you would let me know. Thanks.

Sooo Many Questions

Okay First I have to say Hi! haha anywho I just bought the Droid 2 Global and I am rather confused, I bought it from a guy and he had cricket on it, but it doesn't have any internet or at the very least it wont let me connect to the internet(He still hasn't canceled his service on the phone) it has a single 1x up top that seems to be pushing out but not receiving anything....I don't know if this is an issue of it not being fully flashed or perhaps he just didnt pay his bill an I wonder will it get fixed once I get it turned on in my name, for some reason I doubt it, so how do I find out if the phone is fully flashed or just half flashed and if it is only half can I change it to full myself? And also with this phone what type of ummm system I guess should it be running because when I took out the verizon simcard it said switching to CDMA soooo yeah kinda confused any help is appreciated and also if I go on a head an root this will it mess with anything need for me to fully flash it, if it's not fully flashed already?
The issues your having isn't a matter of needing to be flashed. The phone sounds like it's been deactivated. You need to activate it on your service now for you to be able to use it.

Bingo. You have no way of knowing what he did or didn't have, thus at this point you have no idea what really is or isn't working.
Why are you complaining about not being able to get on the internet on a phone activated in somebody else's name? You should have it properly activated in your name with the correct plan and make sure the balance is current then complain if it doesn't work then.

Hey troll, why waste your time posting? You are of ZERO help to anyone. I fkn hate annoying trolls like you.
First off, if you are still on cricket, cricket is CDMA only, so sim cards are a no-no.
Second, if there is only a 1x up top, the culprits could be POOR RECEPTION first, or if not, a bad PRL file, which you can update easily by hitting *228. It could be a damaged radio, it could be a ****ty ROM. I flash crickets all the time, err I mean droids to cricket, and usually people pay the least amount of money they can to flash their $300 to $600 phones, ill never get it.
If its a cricket rom with a green iris on boot, then you're in trouble. That's the worst rom PERIOD.
My adive to you, without being liek the TROLL above this post, is to get the phone in your name first, and then find someone who knows what they are doing first, unless you are really dedicated to fixing this yourself.
If you want to ride it solo, then start from a clean wipe, and reflash the PRL, flash a new ROM, reset your APNs, and get on the 55 plan. So you don't worry about autostart and running .sh scripts at startup.
Good luck.

I fail to see how he was "trolling" since he said the exact same thing that we were saying. Old phone that I have that are now deactivated still show 1x, but will not access any data. Hence, that is the most likely culprit.
1 sentence answer = no help

I don't know, I kind of agree with the others. How can you know what services are provisioned on the device if you haven't procured service for it. I work in IT and we deal with alot of phones and when we deactivate phones we experience the same thing.

Can the Sanyo Juno be used as a donor phone?

I want to know if the Sanyo Juno can be used as a donor phone when flashing to Shift to Boost Mobile? Or does it HAVE to be an Incognito or Rant? I thought it only had to be 3g. The only reason im asking is because on the back of my Juno it says QUALCOMM 3G CDMA. Unsure exactly what that means but I always assumed my phone was 3g
Also instead of creating another topic, what i've been hearing is that Flashing my Phone to boost is a much harder Process then if I were to flash it to Metro PCS or Cricket.
Personally I'd rather have Boost since that's what I like, But what about the performance if I were to Flash to either Metro, Virgin, Cricket or even Straight Talk? Do any of the other carriers have a clear advantage over Boost? And I dont mean their network in general but more along the lines if I were to have an EVO Shift Flashed to anyone of them. Which is the best performing network to Have on EVO shift?
Just throwing this out there. I don't know where your at as far as Flashing the device. Whether you want to do it yourself, or don't care if someone else does it. I know around here where I live there are several BOOST Mobile places that will Flash the device over to BOOST for you. Fully functioning with MMS, SMS, Data, and calling features. IDK what they charge, or if they do mail order. But I'm sure if you check there should be someplace near you that will do it for you.
I just recently came back from San Antonio so I know what you mean. There is probably a phone place on every single corner that will flash your phone for you. And cheap too. Like 20-30 dollars. But right now i'm in Ashtabula Ohio. Which is basically Bumblefuck.. I wouldnt mind paying someone else to flash it but people really try to charge something ridiculous like 70-150 dollars depending on if I need a donor phone or not. That's honestly the only reason why i'm tryna figure this **** out myself because I feel that price is a rip off. IDK though, I might try cricket instead because i'm hearing that's much much easier to flash too
Have you checked HERE? You may be able to get better info, or leads.
Yeah a couple people directed me there. I read the whole thread. But it seems to me it's more about helping the original poster get his MMS and Voicemail working on his phone that's already flashed to Boost mobile. Doesn't really explain how I can go about Flashing myself.
This guide Here explains how to flash to boost. I followed it pretty good all the way to the point where I had to flip and change my esn/meid.. That's where it got confusing and I stopped as I didnt want to damage my phone.
And most of the guides I find are nearly a year old or so. So they all say that the only phones that can be used as donor phones are either the Incognito or The Rant. Meaning for me to use Boost I would have to buy either one. Which brings me back to my original question of Is the Juno capable of being a donor phone as well?
That I don't know. But I know there's a thread on how to put the OG EVO4G on Boost. It gets a lot more traffic than the Shift one. Maybe someone can point you in the right direction there. Also a quick search came up with THIS, and THIS THREAD.

[Q] korean galaxy s3 shv-210l no 3g on red pocket

Hi I'm noob to this site and I don't know anything about modifiying a phone so I need some help I bought a Korean samsung galaxy s3 shv-210l
I have service with red pocket but I only get data on G no 3G i don't know how to get it to get 3G or to show the calling numbers and have a problem with texting too I don't know if my settings are incorrect or is there anything else I need to do I was thinking may be if I root the phone than I may have better luck but I have no clue how to do that either so if any body have some sugestions I will really appreciate it very much.
Hello friend,
I just like you found my self with the same issue. I bought my phone over ebay and I'm pretty sure they seller knew that the phone was defective. At any rate I've read 8 similar cases in the internet about our phone not being able to connect to 3G, I went overseas and it was even worse it wouldnt even register in the networks.
from what I understand its a defect, and you like I are unlucky enough to have it. If you can return your phone I would recommend you do it, as others here have no issues with theirs. If you do happen to find a solution pls post it here I will spread it around to those affected. I no longer have the handset lost it in a trip and bought a note 2.

[Q] Need to send gs3 in for repair-any way to use my old phone in the meantime?

So I just derped pretty hard and hard bricked my Galaxy S3, which means I'm probably gonna have to send it to some jtag service to fix it. However, I don't want to be without a phone in the meantime. Is there any way I could use my old droid incredible in the meantime? Such as some way of reactivating it or temporarily switching service to it while my gs3 is repaired? I'm on Verizon. Thanks.
Your best bet would probably be call verizon and ask about that. You shouldn't have a problem, you should be able to walk in the verizon store, explain the situation, they'll do the ESN swap and out you go.
Had a broken blackberry storm and they switched up the ESN without many questions. This was about 2 years ago.

Bricked his GS3, needs a temporary phone while its being fixed. Wants to use his Droid Incredible. Wants to know if he'll be able to use it for the time being.
Hope that helps.
P.S. Verizon phones are CDMA so in a sense, yes they are network locked.

I would assume so. I got the phone from Verizon as an upgrade from my old dinc. Basically what I want to do is use my dinc in place of my gs3 while it gets repaired. I did a bit of digging around and it seems that I can just change the phone associated with my number online. However it seems that some people have issues with switching between 4g and 3g phones, which is what I would be doing. Does anyone know any more about this?

Yeah, I already managed to get my device switched online. Currently rocking the ol' dinc, hopefully I can get the gs3 repaired soon. Thanks for the help, everyone.
