Hello,
Please try my phone book app for android 2.1 or higher. With this latest release Komodo now allows you to edit your google contacts much faster than the default contact app. Anyone with lots of contacts on their android phone will find my app much better.
Most other phone book apps on android are just skins or dumb list or dialer apps. This is not. This has full ability to create/edit/delete your google contacts.
New features include:
Edit all contact properties
Open postal addresses in map view or street view
Group Email and SMS
Bug Fixes
Also Komodo is under heavy development at the moment and im listening closely to any feature requests or bug reports that users have.
The app is available in APK form and in the market just search google:
Komodo Phone Book
Thanks!
Ps. If this is not the right forum for this type of submission please let me know and i will gladly remove it.

Hi,
Sorry if this is the wrong forum, feel free to move my topic.
On my Android phone (Motorola Milestone) I have several apps that integrate into Contacts: Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, LastFM.
Android makes a good effort in merging the contacts automatically, or I can merge them manually. Some people compain about the automatic merge and I know about the bug reports, but for me it's good enough.
What bothers me however, is that I cannot set what type of contact has "priority". For example, I have a merged contact that consists of a Gmail contact (containing full name, address, phone, email), a Twitter contact (containing nickname, full name, profile pcture) and a Facebook contact (containg full name, phone, email, profile picture). In the Android contacts list this person may be shown as either with his full name or his nickname. It is completely random. I have not found a way to force this merged contact to be shown with full name. I just want an option to say "this person is called X, dammit".
Any ideas?
I'm sorry but... *bump* ?
same here.
It is driving me crazy.
Any solution?
Running Milestone 2.1
Yeah, would love to know this as well!
Thanks!

Would love to get a fix for this too!!
*bump*
I'm now running Froyo on my Milestone, but I still haven't found a way to do this.
Yet another *bump*
I'm going to try something incredibly dirty: install the .apk of the HTC contacts app, because this allows to set the visible name.
Is there no app on the market that allows easy editing of contacts?
Anyone tried any apps and if so then why not post the app name and whether it was useful or otherwise. That could help everyone else trying to solve their contacts cloud issues.

It allows you to chat with your friends connected though
various online messaging applications.
Currently it is still in development, an alpha version

Supported devices:
Android version 1.5 and newer
http://www.lonelycatgames.com/?app=slick&page=download&platform=android
I am currently beta testing tirllian but I might give this a go too. Three questions first though:
1) does it support myspace chat
2) could you give me more info on the message history feature
3) how are users displayed (e.g. does it display their actual account username or does since some networks support changing the display name does it show what ever the end user has chosen as a display name, does it show their contact pic/avatar)
Glad to present my latest app: Corporate Contacts
I was surprised to find out that Android actually internally supports much more options, that the Contact app works with. Groups are one example - that is usually the
"Category" when syncing with MS Outlook. So, I made an app that exploits the underlying system a bit more. Check out the app, and the video below, for an introduction. Updates are to come...
NOTIFICATION: I am giving away some registration keys for the app, which unlock the full functionality, and remove the ads. Write me a message if you're interested!

Hi
I am a first-time Android developer, and I developed a very simple Address Book app, called Contakts.
It is extremely minimalist, and presents contacts synchronized with your Google account in a clean UI making full using of KitKat 4.4 transparency.
WhatsApp is integrated, allowing you to start conversations with a particular contact right where you left off.
Facebook integration is also present, which allows you to view contact information of your friends on Facebook
Note: The app currently does not sync Facebook contact information with your phone.
I would love to improve this app, based on suggestions and feedback received from the community, so i'd appreciate if you tried it out. If you like it, please do rate and/or review it.
Thanks!
