Am I the only one with this issue:
It seems that Bing Mobile v 5.1.2010.6280 loses the Navigation button on a Samsung BlackJack II - SGH-i617 running WM 6.1
A search on the web shows quite a number of users experiencing this same issue.
This condition only happens when your mobile device connects for data and attempts to generate directions. Once this happens the app loses the Navigation button permanently.
If your device does not connect to the internet for data, the Navigation button remains on the application.
Any help is appreciated . Thanks.

Can anyone help me please?
Apologies if this is incorrectly posted but it is my very first post on any site.
I have an O2 XDA Orbit running Windows Mobile 5.0 (5.1.342 build 15096.3.0.0) and with SPB Mobile Shell (version 1.0.0 build 2632) and SPB Phone Suite (Version 1.0.0 Build 1179).
The problem I have s that the I cannot access the WIFI. It used to work fine but for a couple of weeks the WIFi button in Comms Manager WLAN screen has been greyed out with an “X” next to it and when pressed it goes to egg timer but after a few seconds just returns to the Comms Manager screen with the icon greyed out.
Also when going into WLAN settings and pressing “turn on Wireless LAN” nothing happens.
Thanks in anticpation.
Hi guys! I recently bought LG L5 II, but I have a problem with my GPS. I simply can't figure out if it is working at all or if it is just slow.
I have installed the following applications:
1. GPS Status (blue icon with the button Get Xtra data)
2. GPS Status and Tools (orange icon, with radar)
3. Google Mps (obviously)
4. Navitagor Free
5. Osmand
6. OruxMaps
All of them are freeware (I can't afford to buy GPS application like iGO Primo, Sygic, NAVIGON).
When I download using 3G/Wi-Fi the GPS data with either of the GPS Status programs, my GPS fixes me for 30-40 secs, when I'm outside and standing still. And this works for a couple of days... After that in the same situation without 3G/Wi-Fi my GPS simply doesn't locate my destination for at least 3 minutes - after that SOMETIMES it does locate me.
But in all cases - with 3G/WiFi ON or with 3G/Wi-Fi OFF my GPS doesn't locate me when I'm in a vehicle and driving with 30-40 km/h. Whatever app I use, it doesn't locate me on map. This is the main problem!
This wasn't happening on my old phone (samsung galaxy spica i5700).
Please, tell me, am I doing something wrong or is the GPS broken? What type of sensor is used in my LG L5 II?
Is that sensor reliable or not?
And most importantly - should I return the phone and get it checked out? Or should I try with factory reset?
What do you guys think? One of the main reasons I've bought a new phone is because of the larger screen and GPS usage.
I recently upgraded my z3 dual to android 5.0.2. I found that there is a random key icon in the status bar and I cannot figure out what it is, I don't have any VPN's active and that was my only conclusion to what it could be. What is it? and what does it do???
It means you're are connected or disconnected from a vpn connection.
Of you remove the connection from your phone (active or inactive doesn't matter) it will disappear again. But you were right on your first guess, it is vpn
If you pull down the menu and click on "Network may be monitored" (below quick access) it will tell you which connection is running.
Hi, did you solve it, I have the same key icon and cant get rid of it. !
Dr. Web
If you're running the Dr. Web anti virus app it'll gain permission to operate soley off a VPN it doesn't change your phones network status as far as what you are connected to for data.... The app itself operates using a VPN which will display the key symbol in status bar!
For me it has happened when using the app doze when I activated the aggressive mode of the app DOZE and would see the key icon popping up and disappears when i deactivate this mode after granting it access to my device.
Could be Opera Max
do
Opera max did it for me.
Hi, did not check how old this is, but recently I got Xperia XZ premium and noticed same icon , and I Remember when it appear on my phone, it is after installed netguard firewall it using vpn locally on your phone, so it does not transmit data to some vpn server in any case. I love it, it do job very well and it cause that small icond to appear in my status bar.
Hi guys, i am having issues with GPS navigation apps on Android. As per late, i have had old Samsung Galaxy S+ which couldn't be updated, and every free navigation i tried couldn't find my location, therefore unable to navigate. I thought its an issue with old system. But recently, my old phone died and i bought new one, Lenovo a1000. History repeats: Preinstalled Route66 won't download maps, saying i need to activate Wifi or mobile data, while both are on.
I installed Waze, but it says that no gps signal is available, and i should try outside. I went to my balcony, tried again, to no avail. Google maps works.
Am i missing something here or is this phone (or android 5) such a mess when it comes to GPS ?
Hello there!
I came here to ask for help in a helpless case.
Android 11 on Nokia phones has broken GPS for a long time and there seems to be no interes in either Nokia or Google to fix it.
I talked numerous times with Nokia support to no avail.
Nature if the issue:
While using navigation feature of google maps, whenever GPS signal is lost, google maps will "jump" and won't continuously track location, even if I leave the area of limited GPS signal availability.
To further clarify:
1. Go to underground garage
2. Set up route to an address
3. Start navigation
4. Observe "signal lost" prompt, and "--" in speed indicator.
5. Start driving, leave underground garage
6. Observe the app, when the phone should regain navigation capability it does not happen.
7. Location tracking is non-continuous and "jumps", speed changes back and forth from "--" to different values like "54 km/h"
8. This issue persist regardless of actual GPS signal, app restart, even phone reboots.
9. Only way to alleviate the issue is to long press Vol. Down and Power button for a hard reset.
I tried contacting google support - to no avail, also talked with Nokia support many times.
Issue occurs on both my and my wife's Nokia 8.3 5G, also occurred on my previous Nokia Phones.
Android 11, most updated one.
I have developer functions enabled to change icon shapes, what can I do to try and fix the issue?
Please help me this is so annoying
