[Q] (HELP) Phone Number to Name (Dialer and Messaging) - Android Software/Hacking General [Developers Only]

Hi All,
I'm from Mauritius, and our number format for phones is 7 digits; XXX-XXXX or XXXXXXX with country code (+230)
Now under Android, tested on HTC HD2 running NAND Rom Android 2.2 and on HTC Wildfire running Android 2.1; I have a problem whereby phone numbers do no translate into names correctly;
Let's say I store Name-A as 1234567; when Name-A calls me on my Android; I see the name and number on Caller ID; but if Name-A sends me a text message; I will see only +2301234567 and not the name displayed.
If I store Name-B as +2301231212, when Name-B calls me, I will see the number on Caller ID and not the name, but if Name-B sends me a text message, Name-B is displayed.
Is there any means to correct this issue? I've mailed HTC Support but they haven't been much of a help, told me to reboot the devices or reset them ( -.- );
I had the same issue when using Windows Mobile 6.5, but there was a fix to edit the phone number/naming identification to 7 digits, is there any app in Android that can do the same?
Thanks for any answers.

In the android system... I don't know a fix. However, a work around would be to set the contacts with 2 phone numbers. Example: person A phone # +2301234567 & 2301234567. That should be a good work around until someone more knowledgeable can help.

HTC Touch Pro - Problems with SMS and Contactbook

Hello folks.
I got my brand new Touch Pro today and have (I hope) a small problem.
I synchronized Outlook 2007 contact book with my HTC Touch Pro and sent kind of a group message to my friends, but when they reply back, only a number is being shown, so even If they are stored in my contact book (their number is stored as a mobile number) their name is not appearing and when i click on their name a message pops up that this number is not stored in the contact book (even if it is).
Is this a bug or just a matter of some settings ?
Thanks a lot for your help
How did you send the sms? And what format does the phone number when you received it? It might explain what happened.
The solution was
"Use a registry editor and go to HKCU\Control Panel\Phone\CalIidMatch value is by default 8, i.e 8 Digits. Change that to 7 and soft reset."

Text Message,Incoming Call,Caller ID WM6

My apologies if this question has being asked before i have searched for an answer and looked through the threads.
MY Problem
I am using an AMsam M810.It is running Windows Mobile 6
I have a Person Y phone number saved as 085******* so when they call me there Caller ID comes up saying the name as well as the ringtone i have set for them and picture.
But when Person Y sends me a text message there number comes up as +0035385******* so i do not see there name.
I have all numbers saved in Contacts and i am using SPB Mobile Shell 3(Which im almost sure does not make a difference)
I hope somebody can help me as this problem is driving me mad and makes me want to revert back to a normal phone or Iphone

Caller ID Format

I know someone posted this under Excalibur thread, but the solution doesn't work for me.
My problem is that the number in my country code is a 10 digit XXXXXXXXXX format. My HTC 3G Touch Windows Mobile 6.1 used to display the incoming caller's name and number in XXXXXXXXX. But recently, for unknown reasons, the caller ID displays the name but the number format in (XXX) XXX-XXXX.
I find this hard to read especially when the the caller's name is not displayed as it is not saved in my contact list. Please help!

SMS app to combine conversations from the same contact in the same chat window

Hy there,
I hope I posted where I should and if I didn't please tell me the correct section where I should do this. Also, I am not a developer, I do not have root on my phone. I do not want solutions that require changing XML files or anything. I am just asking about an app that I could find in the Play Store, or, maybe, and apk to download (this being the second option)
I have a problem with the messaging app since I left my HTC One S for the Nexus 5X in June 2016 and I did not find an app to replace that, not even on my current Oneplus 5T.
So, I have a contact in my phonebook saved with multiple numbers - work / mobile / home etc. and she texts SMS from either of the numbers (doesn't really matter because they are included in the carrier plan as unlimited). But my messaging app is sorting those SMS as different entries by phone number, and not by contact. So if we start a conversation in a chat window based on the home number, the answer may end up in a different chat windows (she has a dual sim phone so it depends on the settings on which is right now, and because the SMSs are "free", she tends to not look at which carrier is using, because, why would you if they are all free?), but this actually disrupts the logical flow of the conversation.
I know that a such app exists because I used it on HTC One S in 2012 and I was able to send SMS to which number I wanted to select (home / mobile / work of the same contact from the phonebook) and I had all the conversation in only one place, but after I changed on Nexus 5X and now on OnePlus 5T I can not find this feature in the installed app messenger (Google's or Oneplus's), neither on Google searches or specialized websites. I have tested some of the SMS apps, looked for settings, but all of them seem to show the SMSs based on the phone number, and not based on the contact entries.
Can someone suggest an app that could do that? Maybe I didn't search good enough.
P.S. The MMS option to send grouped messages is not an option because this means I will send the same SMS to multiple numbers, but those numbers are of the same person so there is no need to do that ...
Thank you very much for Your answer.
