[Q] GMail Doesn't Sync? - G Tablet General

It looks my GMail stopped synchronizing with my account a few days ago. A manual refresh in GMail works though. I do not see any sync related settings in GMail other than the number of days for different folders sync.
My G-Tab runs stock 3588 with the Enhancement Pack v3.14. GMail v2.3.4.1.
Any idea what's going on?

Not sure what the problem is and I had been looking for the "acccounts and sync" settings too. If you open the contacts app and hit settings then accounts it should look familiar. I am using latest tnt lite so you might find it elsewhere.

I was having similar problems. I went to the market, uninstalled and reinstalled Gmail. Works perfect now.

Thank you. Since GMail is in the ROM I uninstalled and reinstalled the update from the market. Works for now.

[FIX] Facebook Contacts Sync Issue!!!

If you have any spaces, dashes, or an apostrophes (like I do) it looks as though it causes a problem with com.htc.bgp. When I had an apostrophe in my last name on Facebook no matter what I tried I could not sync using the People app. This morning I tried taking the apostrophe out on Facebook, deleting the account from my phone, deleting HTC Sense and Android Facebook permissions in the account settings under applications on the Facebook website then re-adding my Facebook account on my Hero under Accounts & Sync. It loaded my Facebook account without the apostrophe. I then opened the people app and attempted to link a contact and to my surprise I seen my Facebook contacts loading up instead of "no matches"! It has been months since I could use the people app to sync with Facebook and I have tried all the brute methods and just turning down your memory killer! Give it a try if you have any characters that aren't letters in your first or last name on Facebook.
I am running Damage Control 2.09.1 overclocked with 2.6.36 darkshizz kernel. If overclocked you must turn the settings back to stock (dconfig, setcpu, all memory killers, etc).
*Edit* I just put the apostrophe back in my name on Facebook and synced again. It kept my name without the apostrophe and still allowed me to sync new contacts!
I want to know how to only sync the contacts I have and not import all my friends from facebook, like how 1.5 used to be. I hate having a ton of extra contacts I never call in my dialer!
Use the stock/non htc facebook app. it does this exactly.
Good to know, thanks for posting.
Mods, should this be moved to the Themes and Apps forum?
For some reason when i click on facebook in accounts and sync nothing happens. Is this linked to the actual facebook app you download from the market?....I want to try to reinstall it. Cleared my facebook cache...still nothing.
Running fresh rom.

I had this happen when I switched to DarchDroid 2.7. I solved the issue by searching the market for facebook, and it told me I needed to upgrade. I had the typical notification show me other apps that needed upgraded but had no mention of Facebook. After I upgraded it, I was able to sync in the accounts area just fine. Hope that helps.
THANK YOU!!!
You are a god among men. I've been searching for a fix for this for MONTHS, and nobody's had an answer. Thank you so much!!! +9,001 Internets for you.
I have tried and tried to update my APP and no luck. I can only open it. any pointers would be appreciated.

I don't really know but when I went to the downloads part of my market it didn't say that Facebook needed to update, but after further investigation I realized that it wasn't in the download list at all. So I searched the market for it and when it found it, it told me that it had an update available. So if you have already tried that and it won't work, then I would say you should try removing the old Facebook app altogether and then just get the new one from the market.
So the fix for the extra Facebook synced contacts in the dailer is to use the Facebook App instead of the HTCFacebook ?
I had the same problem and I fixed it by uninstalling Facebook for Android and in settings>accounts & syncs, I removed Facebook account. I then re-downloaded Facebook for Android and in accounts & sync, I added Facebook for HTC NOT Facebook for Android.
you cant use the regular facebook app if you have sense.........

[Q] Google Calendar and Contacts Sync not working on Generic Tablet

Alright!
For those playing around at home, I've been screwing around with a Telechips TCC8803 based Android Tablet currently running Android 2.3.1. (Go here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1119778 for more info) While we've had some great success and some truly terrible failures, I have at least 1 thing that's driving up the wall.
Google Contacts and Calendar will not sync!
Gmail and Picasa (Gallery) will sync, no problems. They're properly listed in the Accounts & Sync settings, but nothing else is! I can't even add Facebook Sync! Actually, the only way to get into Accounts & Sync is to use Quick Settings, otherwise it's not listed in normal settings.
Digging around the /system/app files, I've discovered that Contacts.apk, GoogleCalendarSyncAdapter.apk, GoogleContactsSyncAdapter.apk, are all missing.
So, I found another thread to download those files, and installed them. They appeared to install correctly (yay!), but it's still not functioning and Contacts and Calendar are still not listed in Accounts & Sync.
Anyone have any ideas where to look next?
Recap
Calendar and Contacts Sync Missing
Accounts & Sync missing from standard settings
Sync apks appear missing from /system/app
pushed missing apks, still not working
No profit
EDIT:
Blast! Pushing a different version of AccountAndSync.apk and AccountAndSyncSettings.apk did not work either. Oddly, it won't let me install them...the mystery continues.
SOLVED!
Apparently the GoogleContactsSyncAdapter and GoogleCalendarSyncAdapter were not installed properly. I found some good files and boom! It's working.
same problem
Where can i find those files? I've same tablet and same problem.
Please help me.
EDIT:
I find the files and after the reinstall i see the Calendar and Contacts sync option, but the Facebook sync not yet available.
Grr!
I use the calendar of Facebook.
Can't install any Contact app (eg. GO Contacts)

Sync to Google calendar on Litening Rom v2.3 failure
Hi,
I'm am currently experiencing a similar issue. I recently rooted a Samsung Galaxy S2 (i91000) with an original kernal (XWKK2) and flashed the Litening Rom v2.3 onto the device. Everything else works fine but the syncing with google calendar. I noticed in the changelog that v2.2 had added the google calendar but I'm unsure whether the syncing aspect was added. I was originally intending to post to:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1095274
but because I am a new member I am unable to. I'm wondering if other people are experiencing this issue?
The error message was very vague. I will include it on a follow up post. I am hoping to bump this post as I haven't been able to find a solution yet.
Many thanks for the help,
Pat
Edited text: I'm hoping to get a response first just so I know whether to install ADB - i.e. whether this is already a known issue or not.
I had this problem and solved the syncing last night. On your mobile device go into settings, applications, manage, all, then find calendar storage and clear data. Ok that and reboot. It will then resync with your online calendar.
See vmiller's post in following link.

Calendar was syncing with my kf but not my Droid X. Did this on my Droid x and it syncs fine now.
Thanks so much!
I'll try this soon.
Looks like this will solve the issue.
I'll thanks the post when I can - did more then 8 today
Cheers,
Pat
Oh, and only need to do that once.
It solved the problem of new events created online or on kf not showing up on my Droid and it solved the problem of new events created on Droid not appearing online and on my kf.
IMHO , when i log in my google account , the calendar start sync
Hi guys,
I've tried it on the phone and it seems to work after the restart. However, if you restart the phone again (for any reason), the sync issues reoccur. I've found that if I clear the data, restart the phone and re-sync it works but it fails to sync again once the phone is restarted. I'll stick with the workaround for the moment but I hope a fix comes about.
Cheers,
Pat

ICS (4.0.3) Calendar not showing appointments

I have 4.0.3 installed on my Nexus S (GT-9020), and have been loving it - best OS I have used on any phone. So sleek and well designed, it's a real shame most users will never see it's full glory once Samsung, HTC et al will put their own skin over it.
Anyway, yesterday (29th Feb) all my calendar appointments disappeared from my phone and now it is only showing new ones added since yesterday.
None of my settings have changed, I still have my work exchange account and my gmail account syncing and the mail from both are fine. All the calendars are still selected to be shown. When I go online I can still see my appointments in Google Calendar so I know they haven't been deleted and in Outlook my exchange appointments are also still there.
I don't know what has happened. At first I thought it was just the widget but the full app doesn't show them either.
Has anyone seen this? Does anyone know how to sort it?
Cheers.

Try turning sync off for calendar , restart, then turn it back on?
Have you tried clearing data from the calendar app? Go into Settings | Apps | All | look for calendar and clear data.
Are you using a custom ROM? Is this for all appointments (google and exchange)?
I had this problem once for the exchange appointments. I resolved it by removing the exchange account, and adding it back again with all settings left at default.
Maybe a problem with the leap year? But then others should also having problems.
I would also remove the calendar, reboot, delete data and re-add the calendar.
Thanks Oogway13.
I tried turning off and on sync with no joy, but deleting the app data under the app "Calendar Storage" did the trick. Everything went (as expected) then opened the calendar app (can't remember if I selected refresh or not) and all my appointments slowly came back. Weird.
I didn't need to reboot or remove-add the calendar app (which I think you can only disable, not remove, on ICS anyway) so that's good.
Just running stock Nexus S ICS ROM (downloaded from this forum) and use stock calendar app for both google calendar and exchange calendar. All had gone missing though!
Glad it's back.
Excellent!! good to know it's working now

Sync from mobile to Exchange does not work. The other way does

Running Cyanogenmod 13 24 May Nightly on a Nexus6.
Have not had any previous problems with calendar, contact and email sync until now.
Calendar, contacts and email was syncing fine. Until I noticed that when I added a calendar item in the phone it does not sync to Exchange. The other way around works fine. From Exchange to the mobile.
I have removed the device in Exchange, cleared the Exchange profile on the phone, added it again.
Calendar sync still not working ok.
Did a full wipe of the device installed latest Nightly and Gapps stock and tried again. Same problem but now I also get “Sync is currently experiencing problems. It will be back shortly”
......
Same issue here with a few Nexus devices on stock 6.0.1. The problem seems to be the updated Exchange Services that came from the Play Store.
They are investigating the issue. Search for the thread on google support forums: Exchange-Service App don't sync
