[Q] Battery Life - HTC Inspire 4G

Hello guys. I own an Inspire running CM7. I have noticed that I have only been getting about 4 hours of battery life, which is terrible. I was wondering if someone could provide suggestions to fix this. Here is my info:
ROM: CM7 RC4
Kernel: Stock CM7 Kernel
Clock Speed: 1017MHz
Apps: Ninja Rush Deluxe
imo beta (IM client)
Photoshop Express
Astro File Manager
screenshot (the free one, by gik soft)
deciBel (sound meter)
SpeedTest (official app)
FML (official app)
Watchdog Lite
Urban Dictionary
Imgur Uploader (extension to gallery "share" feature)
Google Translate
AndroIRC
Dropbox
Wallet (password manager)
Quadrant Standard
FOX News
Bluetooth File Transfer
Andchat (free version)
X Construction
Root Explorer (File Manager)
Paypal (official app)
IMDb
Dictionary (official app from dictionary.com)
Unrar Free
Uninstaller )(the one from Rhythm Software)
Adobe Reader
XDA
Flash Player 10.2
eBay (official)
tTorrent (full)
FallDown3D
InkPad Notepad
Ninja Rush
DroID3Tagger (for editing music name, artist, album, etc.)
Better Keyboard 8
Shazam
VEVO
Seek Droid (I had terrible battery life before installing this)
Titanium Backup Pro
Twitter (official)
Chrome to Phone
Facebook (official)
SetCPU
Amazon Appstore
Doodle Jump
Paper Toss
Connect4
Rom Manager
Amazon MP3
Caller ID Faker
Fruit Ninja
WeatherBug Elite (background updates are off)
Are any of these apps on the bad list? (the bad list meaning apps that stay active and continue to eat CPU in the background)
Also, no I don't use a task manager, they're bad for android.
Here is a pastie of my currentwidget logs, the higher values are with the screen on, at the homescreen, the lower values are with the screen off, so this indicates there is deep sleep happening. http://pastie.org/1746213
EDIT: Recalibrated battery, virtually no improvent. Any ideas guys? Spare Parts doesn't show anything is eating the battery, so I do not know why it is draining so quickly.

Take current readings during idle time for an hour with the current widget, then post results. Then use system panel to track which process is using the most CPU.

Best Android Apps - sans Twitter

It seems that whenever I do a search for apps that others find useful, Twitter and Facebook are all the rage.
Seriously, there are "Top Ten Apps" lists out there that will have two or three different Twitter apps listed on them. It drives me insane because I don't care about Twitter and I don't find it productive in the least (just a personal preference matter, no offense to you tweet-aholics out there).
I would like to know social networks and twitter aside, which apps do you find most useful or productive?
Advanced Task killer (name says all)
Astro (explorer that allows you to browse SD card and install apps)
aTrackDog (allows to check new app versions)
Call logs backup & restore/SMS Backup & restore/APN Backup & restore (names says all)
CoPilot Live (payed GPS)
Meridian (Media player with subtitle support)
Shazam (app that "listens" the song and identify it)
Uninstaller (app to uninstall apps)
Zedge (to search for nice wallpapers)
Doubletwist (media player with PC version that allows to sync libraries)
GPS test (to check for satellites in view)
AppBrain App Market and Fast web installer (market alternative that allows to install straight from the webpage)
Games:
Angry birds
Frozen bubble
Jewls
These are my must have every time i try a new rom.

Nice, there are a few on here I will have to check out. Thanks for not mentioning Twitter or Facebook apps!
My list includes:
- Maps BRUT (Turns maps / naviation into a full car GPS unit)
- Missed Reminders (Does what it says)
- MeContacts (nicer app for placing favourite 'instant dial' widget')
- Double Twist (Mentioned above)
- Pocket Auctions Ebay
- Slideit Soft Keyboard / Swype
- Time Clock Time Traking by Spotlight 6 (Used for tracking work time for clients)
- Dolphin Browser
- Shazam (Mentioned before)
- Robo Defense (Fun game)
- Executive Assistant. (Summary of sms's, emails, missed calls, etc as a widget)
- Flashlight (Name says it all)
- Weatherbug
- Springpad. (Online notes that sync with phone and vise versa)
- Starfield Active Wallpaper (coz I'm a geek ;-)
- The Weather Channel
Here's my current list - 113 market apps, not a single "social" one among them.

Note the absence of a task killer, since I wasn't dropped on my head as a child.
All those, plus the standard Cyanogenmod and Google Apps stuff and a couple that aren't available through the market, like Swype. Thank goodness for DT-A2SD!
Thank you. I bought my phone today & I'm downloading some apps from your link.
Glad to be of service! What kind of phone did you get?
More than anything else, make sure to install Juice Defender. It does simple, completely transparent background power management that should've been built into the OS from the beginning, imho.
Example, if your screen's off, what are the chances you need your power-hungry data connection going? Why not shut it off for 14 minutes out of every 15, and then keep it running until it's no longer being used? Instantly your battery life is greatly extended during times when your phone's in standby.
Or, how about doing the same thing, only keeping it off most of the time a certain application, like a video player, is in the foreground?
Makes sense, right?
No, I'm not affiliated with its developer

yeah thanks ill look into some of those
No need for a task killer on android, or something like juice defender. They are a waste of battery.
well Im trying out the free version of J/D and my batter since last night has stayed the same by now (6.30am) it would need charge so it seems like its working..
what about an app for remote access for desktop or either something like drop box that does not have a limit of 2gs.
Also a different note whats with other forums talking about the update about side loading what is that going to do that Side Loader Wonder Machine does not. Is the update for S/L'ing apps with a computer.
I found some cool games robo Defense, Crody, Robotek (had to load form the market place pc) and moblox and found G4 =) and cover art so when I transfer Mp3s over to the sd card this app will find the cover art
check out geocaching........ its fun with this phone

Battery lasts 3-4 hours (even after wipe) [updated]

Any ideas or advice?
I've previously owned G1 and Desire as well as the wife having various Android phones. I got the O3D on launch day (SIM free)
I live in a strong 3G area (O2), I have wifi on and set to never off on sleep, I have GPS on 24/7 (as I did with my previous phones without this extreme battery issue) as I use Latitude and things to track my cycling twice a day during weekdays (20 minutes at a time). Screen brightness is at 45%
I started with this issue a week or 2 ago (can't pinpoint exactly), yesterday I did a system restore and wiped everything but it's no better today.
Not really done anything different with the O3D than with my Desire or G1 in the settings.
see the screenshots below from this morning, no cycling done, just woke up, unplugged, checked emails, Google+ and Facebook
The phone is very laggy, like the CPU is always in use compared to a few weeks ago. It's on the latest firmware for the UK (SIM free), it's rooted but has stock ROM.
I have a 2500mah battery too and that lasts around 6 hours maximum.
I don't want to use apps like juice defender as I want to use it as a smartphone (rather than telling it when to download or connect to the web), I want emails when they arrive and things like latitude running in the background 24/7, everything that worked fine on my previous phones and the wife's phones and my brothers phones.
Screenshots and list of installed apps below.
Since the screenshots I've used the phone to track me to work on my bike (Cardiotrainer, 17 minutes) and my battery is under 15% now

"Partial Wake Usage" is showing a very similar story to screenshot 1, "Android System" taking up a lot of usage.
Also, if I "charge" from a USB port in a PC, I lose about 1% an hour rather than gaining charge! (PC at work or home)
There's not a lot you can do to preserve battery life if you have wifi, gps etcetera on constantly but there are some things that will help, though I can't say how big a battery saving you'll get.
You can root your phone and then download a free start manager or task killer, set it to kill any tasks that start up which you don't use (for example on my phone the Nova game starts up even though I don't play it). This frees up your phones ram and also as some apps use your data connection or timers will have some impact on making your battery last longer before you need to recharge it.
If you don't use sms for multimedia messaging, and use wireless connection to use internet and browse android market you can switch off the phones ability to send or receive such data over the cell phone network (on a stock UK rom this is done by pressing the top far right on screen button when you have opened the notification window).
Dave
Looks like theres something preventing your phone from sleeping. The only time ive ever seen mine burn through battery that fast is constant 3d gaming. I normally get around 18 hours out of my stock battery.

Must have apps??

What are some must have apps?? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Also if you have some apps that you like just cause it's fun or you really like it that would be great.
- Titanium Backup and Rom Toolbox [FOR ROOTED PURPOSES].
- TSF SHELL {As my launcher}
- n7player {as my music player}
- SoundAbout { for faulty wires, it detects when an AUX cable is plugged in}
- ZArchiver { to unzip files }
- Alarm Clock PLUS { so i can wake up in the morning }
WHAT ARE YOUR FAVORITE APPS???
Ok. For me the must have apps are:
1. Google Service Framework.
2. Input.
3. LBE Privacy Guard (If I need to control the privacy permission and data usage).
4. Link2SD.
5. WPS Office.
6. Youdao Dictionary
As for launcher, I'm using CM's Trebuchet.
Falcon Pro - Twitter client
Action Launcher Pro - Minimal launcher with quick access to search and App drawer
Pocket - Google Reader
Exynos SIII; CM10.1
For me...
Titanium backup.. A must if you like to switch roms often.
TSF Shell as my launcher... In my opinion the best launcher out there. More than worth the money
Power amp player as my default music player... The best in my opinion as it has a built in equalizer where you can tweak the sounds to your liking.
Button savior... Only because I have a modded body glove case to house my anker 4440mah extended battery and I don't like pushing the buttons too much and this app allows the main buttons to be on the screen.
Zedge... Only because I switch wallpapers constantly and Zedge fits them the best to the s3 screen without cropping or resizing

1. Action Launcher pro - personally I love the launcher, it's simple to use, and does a good job of simplifying everything. I feel as if it's still a young launcher, so there are somethings missing like being able to back up the current set up, but it's impressive, and continues to get better with every update.
2. Snapchat - instead of sending a text you can send a picture or video for a specified amount of time for a friend to view. it's fun to use.
3. Chrome Beta - it works the same as the regular Chrome browser but seems to be a little faster.
4. Google Drive - same as Dropbox, but it's connected to your gmail account. If you're an android user, which I expect you to be if you're on this link, than using google drive is a benefit.
5. Skydrive - is you use Microsoft than Skydrive is good to have. I keep all of my photos and video's on here, and keep my files on google drive, and dropbox.

If I'm not mistaken, there's some kind of data compressor implemented in it, so it should work faster than regular chrome.

You should never use any Battery Calibration app. Afaik those apps reduce battery life if you use them too often. I've read some articles on the internet about that and it seems that the best for your (lithium ion / lithium polymer) battery is to keep the charge level between 20/50% and 80%. This means that you should avoid going below 20% and over 80% and charge the battery when its under 50%. And also NEVER under- or overcharge it. This may cause serious damage! Those things should extend your battery life to the maximum. And again: I'm no expert on this. This is just what I've read from people who say that they are experienced with such things
If you have a new battery and that's why you are asking:
The battery needs 4 or 5 complete charge cycles to get to its full capacity (5 x 0% to 100% or 10 x 50% to 100% or 25 x 40% to 60% and so on)
GAME APPS
- Magic Piano
- Hill Climb Racing
- Temple Run 2
- Subway Surfer
I would typically play these apps when I'm bored
