I really hope that there isn't a thread that answers this. If there is, I couldn't find one.
I flashed CM6.1 a few days ago, and I've found most of the fixes to my problems. I found the marketplace app in the google apps zip, I found the visual voicemail and sprint navigation apks, and I even found how to semi-sync facebook apps as well.
For the life of me, I can't get Flash 10.1 and Bluetooth working. I found the apk for flash and tried to install it. It crashes my phone back to the Cyanogen loading screen, and that's it. Whenever I go to m.flash.com, it says "the requested file cannot be found" or something along this lines. But Bluetooth is the big issue, I need it for my work. When I turn on bluetooth, it usually doesn't find my Jabra Extreme headset at all. Once in a while, it finds it, but it says "unable to pair with device". I have tried connecting it through the Bluetooth File Transfer app as well. Nothing.
Is there some kind of zip I can flash to make either of these things work for me? (especially the bluetooth) Thank you very much!
Come on, guys, one of you must know something about this....
I would go to your.phones forums and cynogens forums on their website to ask. You might get a quicker answer there.

Your Hero shouldn't have Flash 10.1 working anyway....
Oh and maybe flash a new rom to fix the bluetooth
6.1 broke my BT as well. Try 6.0 RC1 and see if that works--that's the last that worked for me. They switched to a new BT stack after 6.0 RC1 which I think is the culprit for some of us.
CM6.1 is running FroYo which may not be compatible all the way yet with your device. Unless 6.1.1 is out for your Hero yet, it might be best to stick with 6.0.
Hi Guys,
I am now using MIUIV2 final and it works really well, however, since this rom I have app/OS that are downloading a lot of data. (around 98mg a day)
Since I only have a 200meg plans, I do not want anything to download in the background and I didn't had this problem on kalh GalaxyXTV4.
Is anyone knows an app that can tell me what is downloading that much or is there an issue with this ROM?
Thanks

Have you tried 3g watchdog?
you can use a sort of firewall, droid wall for exemple, you choose wich app can access 3g and wifi.
Thanks for your suggestions.
I have tried 3g Watchdog but it only log the total 3g connection and in the last two days it seems like my phone is back to normal. No more big download while on sleep.
Not sure what happened, is it possible that the google "Backup" utility built in the phone, might have downloaded something ? I have disabled it and it is now seem more "normal" under 3G.
I will also try droid wall to have a better control over the apps on the phone
Thanks again.
Hi all,
I've recently update Bionix's ROM from 1.0 to 1.1, and have lost the ability to do wi-fi calling. I know those guys consider it bloatware, but with the cell reception in my house it's the only way to get calls in/out.
Can anyone point me to a wi-fi install .zip that'll work with it? I tried the one on MIUI's page, but it just craps out on me.
It worked w/ 1.0, so I'm not sure what changed, and I can't post to the dev forums 'cause I just registered.
TIA,
ByTor

Did you read the options? You can install Bloater to install WiFi Calling.
Yeah, I saw that. But when I read up on bloater, it looked like a gps tool (w/r/t the G2X), and I couldn't find much other info on it than that.

Yes, Roman built it to swap out gps.conf on the G2x, but it was originally designed to install bloat, like WiFi Calling. Go to the thread, install it. When you open it, go to G2x (lotherius), then Utilities, then hit install next to Wifi Calling.
Thanks Mr. Apocalypse, and Roman. Success!
Hi everyone,
Running a galaxy sII lte, rooted on official 4.0.4 and my carrier is Rogers. I believe this is the same phone a the skyrocket so I hope I'm in the right forum.
I have a problem with the GPS on my device, or maybe the option is not available on my device I don't know. I did some research about it but still couldn't address this problem. I turn on my GPS signal and it tries to locate me for hours never actually pinning me anywhere on the map. Now I don't have a data connection, but the maps are all cached to my phone, it's the pinning that doesn't work for me. My question is, is my phone capable of doing this without a data connection? If not, what makes an iPhone different that it can do this? Why even have a GPS toggle if I'm getting limited through data?
Thanks in advance!
First off, let me say welcome to xda! Also yes u are in the right section.
Secondly, look for the "agps fix.". It will address the issue with non-locking. With it, I went from 20 seconds to 3.
If that doesn't work look for the galaxy nexus GPS fix, its pretty much the same as agps, which I recommend u try first.
Lastly, caching of Google maps is frankly, [email protected] U need a data connection to use them. For offline GPS, theres really only one app capable, sygic. Look for it in the play store. I have no experience with it so I can't comment on its effectiveness.
If I helped hit the thanks button
Hi!
I totally agree with Icenight89. I also have the Rogers' Skyrocket (the model number is SGH-i727R; you can verify this under the battery inside the phone), and I got problem with GPS position locking. It took about 10 to 15 minutes to lock my position; after I applied the fix, locking takes seconds.
Google Maps needs an active data connection -- be it WiFi or a data plan from Rogers -- in order to guide you through the maps. Caching just takes an instant of the map/area you want, and allows you to view it while you are offline. Without a data connection, though, you won't be able to, say, search for a specific address, look for restaurant/gas station/touristic attraction or get directions. If that is what you are looking for, you might be interested in another GPS navigation app.

Thanks guys, the patch worked wonders!
I wonder if there is a fix for those that don't root, because doesn't that take away one of the key functionalities of the phone? Was this addressed in jelly bean?
It looks like the GPS is working wonderfully for some people, but awfully for others. I had no problem with the GPS when I was on stock Gingerbread. I did not stay long enough on stock ICS to tell if the problem started when I upgraded, I went pretty quick to CM9 nightly, and I had the GPS to work not so good. Applying this patch was like night and day, now the GPS is working great.
So no, I'm not sure that this patch will make its way into a stable ROM -- in your case, Rogers' stock ROM. You may want to take a look at Rogers Community Forum and ask if someone had problem with the GPS. If a lot of people report GPS malfunction to Rogers, Rogers might consider patching its ROM.
And about your other question: I don't think there is a way to patch the GPS on an unrooted phone. This patch write/replace a system file, which means you have to have root access to apply the modifications.

Technically u don't need a rooted phone, merely a custom recovery on Samsung based devices, which u can flash via Odin, and reflash stock after but yes, in principle u are correct. U cannot use it with a non-stock phone
Thanks everyone that helps a lot!

Why wouldn't you want to root? I feel so naked without it

They all work with everything from GB up to JB on multiple models...
Most of them require root permissions or a custom recovery (CWMR) to install.
Hope this benefits SOMEBODY, I spent a great deal of time researching this...
I had similar issues with my galaxy s2.
There is a free app in the play store called "gps status".
Tools/manage a state/reset
Fixed it.
~Samsung Galaxy SIII (SPH-L710) - Blazer ROM v1.6 - TWRP~
I just flashed Gummy ROM Kitkat 4.4 on my sprint S4 and I am having a few issues. My gmail will not sync anymore. the generic email app gets my emails right away, but gmail app will not sync. Also seems like mobile data is not working right, its really flaky now, keeps cutting in and out....mainly out, the only time I can actually do anything that needs data is through wifi. Just wondering if anyone else had these issues or knows how to fix them, before I go back to stock. Thanks much.
Also, my battery is draining about 20-30% an hour. Could it possibly just be a bad install or something? I am fairly new to all this, so just wondering if it could be an install problem, or just bugs with the ROM still, or if there are any fixes for the issues I am having. Thanks again if anyone can help.
