So I've been using Kings Unleashed R3 since it's debut and it's worked beautifully until today. I was at work with my phone (HTC EVO) plugged into the radio via 3.5mm listening to music like I normally do. Someone was calling me so I unplugged the cord to answer my phone and when I plugged it back in to resume jamming out at work the music app said nothing was on my sd card. I went into both Astro and ES File Explorer to check and there was nothing on it.
I get home and plug it up to my computer to check again and it doesn't even give me the option to mount as a disk drive, only charge, sync, and USB tether. So I tried a different method. I stick the micro SD into a micro sd adapter and stick it into my computer and boom there it is, all my files completely unscathed.
Anyone got any ideas why my phone wont recognize it. Being the retard that I am I forgot to make a backup when I flashed R3 and my only backup is from when I first got my phone a month ago and installed R2. I really don't want to restore it to way back if that will even help but I will if there's no other option.
Thanks in advance.

I have spent about 3-4hrs trying to copy a file to my SD card with no avail.
I need some help.
I have in the past been able to explore both internal and external cards on my Captivate with debugging/mounting enabled with iMac OS 10.6.4 (rooted and unrooted).
This is no longer the case. The phone is now stock unrooted. At first, after connecting through usb, it would take several mins to see the internal drive, shortly after the external would appear. All for only a few seconds then OS X would give me an unexpected device removal error and drives are nowhere to be found. Now it does nothing though the thinks that it is connected. Doubletwist also recognized the device but would not be able to explore for media. Kies takes about 3 mins to connect via Parallels VM Win XP.
I have attempted the following:
Formatting both SD cards
Removing the external SD card
Many power cycles on both iMac and Captivate
All combinations of usb settings
Tried all usb ports (read in another thread).
Anyone else having issues or know a workaround for this?

Assuming debugging is on it may be either because the cord you are using is bad OR the android OS formatted the SD card in a non-mac readable format. Or it is something else.
I had this problem yesterday and ended up just using BEX (Bluetooth File Exchange) to move files between my phone and iMac. Took a few minutes to get the two to talk to each other but once it was working the speeds were fine. Might want to give that a shot before you go buying a new SD card or USB cable.
Crazy... I had to connect it through a powered USB hub.
Works like a champ now.
A few days ago i decided to try out the boLTEd rom. It worked pretty well but their were some problems. One problem was that when i plug my phone into the computer it will not show up in my computer. Even though my default setting is set to disk drive. So i restored to my backup i did right after root... BUT my phone still wont show up as being a disk drive. Does anyone out their have any thoughts that may help?
Never mind, I got it to work again. Turned out to be my computer.
So i installed CM 7.1 tonight and when i plug my phone into the computer using my usb cable it detects my phone, charges it and allows me to mount for usb storage.
when i mount for usb storage i do not see the sd card under removable hard drives. im new to all of this rooting and this is my first time rooting and installing a custom rom so any help is greatly appreciated.
thanks!
Search on forums. Theres a thread about that. I think you need a proper driver for you pc, in order to communicate with your phone.
Sent from my LG-P999
i have searched the forums, most of the issues are saying its not mounting and what not. i do have the LGdriver downloaded otherwise i would not have been able to put the necessary files onto my sd card. the problem started after i rooted my phone. my computer recognizes the phone when i plug it in but once i got into USB mass storage mode it doesnt show up in my removable hard drives..
sorry if sounds confusing, im having a hard time describing what exactly is wrong with it.
when i click turn on usb storage it'll say USB storage is on and the green android guy will turn orange and all the apps that are on my SD card are no longer in the app menu. but i have no way of copying files over to my sd card.
Go to Settings>Applications>Development>USB Debugging and turn that on, then plug in you USB as usual.
Hope it works
it worked! thanks!
at least you guys arent having the annoying problem im having.........every other day my phone says i have a blank sd card and when i put it in the pc it tells me it is damaged. It only does it when i mount it to usb. I think it is because the phone gets a little hot sometimes. Quite annoying
Hey! My note 10.1 8013 has stopped reading SD cards with the little 30 pin adaptor. When I plug in the adaptor it says USB conector connected but if I insert a SD won't read it (yes, tried with many other cards, and tried the adaptor on my wife's P3113 and it works)
OS is Darkman_RS's 4.1.2 stock, rooted and deodexed. I lightly debloated it (Crayon physics, all the game and learning hub thingy I don't care for, etc)
Any ideas on what should I look into?
Thanks!
Well you did what I would do first that's test the adaptor on your Wife's. If you can not see or fell any losenes in the plug, the 2nd thing I would do is make a full backup of my system and return to the stock rom this way you cut out any problems with cook rom or your debloating. If that works then flash back to Darkman's and re-try if it still works, it may of been something you did. If it does not work try one of the other roms till you find one you like and it works.
If after flashing back to stock and it still does not work and you are sure it is making a good connection then I would say it's the note, snes at one time it did work eliminating adapter incompatibility.
Just a quick edited, I was just playing with my note and was hooking up my 2TB drive and seen it was not working, well after a bit of loking found that I had forgotten to reinstall Paragon exFAT, NTFS & HFS+ program after installing the Omega Rom. So make sure your drives are Fat32 or exFat and if not you have a program like Paragon or NTFS Mounter installed.
I had to restart my tab, then it sees the card, every now and then I need to restart....dunno why?
I have seen that after playing with some emulators. I guess some apps grab or hook the port looking for something but do not free it up on exit.
Sometimes restarting does it and sometimes don't...
Hi all,
Apologies if this has been answered elsewhere but I have looked and cant find anything.
My One S is Jelly Bean 4.0.1 (un-rooted)
The problem I have is basically this.
I have a Micro-B Usb Otg On The Go Cable and Integral MicroSD USB Card Reader with a 32gb Micro SD.
When I first put all this together and plugged into the USB slot of the phone everything was fine, the little red light on the Integral MicroSD USB Card Reader was lit up. The message of Unable To Charge Device was coming up but the phone was also mounting the storage for reading via Astro File Manager no problem, so I was able to play MP3's and 4's and so on. But then it literally just stopped reading the Micro SD card and the Micro USB Card Reader is not lighting up at all.
Any help will be greatly appreciated as I am at a lost as to why it would be working perfectly one second and then not another.
Thanks you.
Follow up.
Been doing a little bit more looking into this and it looks like it has to do with USB hosting. Is there any reason my phone would just stop hosting a OTG USB Flash Drive? As i mentioned before it work fine for a while and literally just stopped recognizing that there was any Mini Sd attached.

You seem to be stock so not sure what's up with that but could try factory reset in the bootloader has long has you haven't changed recovery but backup what's on the SD Card because that will get wiped too.

Thanks Darknites,
I have reset hard from the settings menu, does it make a difference if i reset from bootloader? I have downloaded USB Host Controller and look at what results I get from running that and I get the SC3 USB Host Driver Not Found which I believe is something to do with the chip set which doesnt apply to my phone but I also get the message of USB Root Hub Present but I also get Not Present sometimes when re-running and the same with USB Host Mode is Active and then sometimes Not Active after re-running the Host Controller App.
I did read somewhere that its possible that certain chip/chips might have been damaged/fried by an extended use of USB Hosting to a flash drive, is this correct?
Thanks again for the reply.

I havnt heard of that in YEARS, and even that was in most cases a false rumor. I have never encountered a chip dying by being used properly.
If you short-circut the cables or something - then yeah, thats a different story.

Ya in bootloader everything gets wiped even sd.
I did cross my mind re the cable because the drives are fine in my PC, I know they are powered there though. I might try another OTG cable, there cheap as. Its just strange that one minute the Micro SD drive was working perfectly and then kaput.
