ALPHA-1.1 Gingerbread – The way it’s supposed to look.
This is a theme for Droid X users running the leaked 2.3.3. You obviously must be rooted and you also must be deodexed.
Huge thank you goes out to mobile_sensei and mikeyinid for listening to my stupid questions and pointing me in the right direction.
Thank you to CHKMATE for helping me test.
UPDATE: v1.2 brings edits to the blur camera, blur home, blur phone, browser, blur text messaging, music, settings, the newly leaked google music player, additional clean up of the framework and system ui. I have heard from a few users that this will work over the top of blurry bread from Drod so if you had asked then I believe it will work. Thanks to everyone for all the support with this!
Oh! and this update replaces the lock sliders with the normal android ones
UPDATE: v1.1 includes XML edits, my own custom keyboard that is the DX keyboard but GB themed so it has normal sized keys (yay!), the nexus s boot animation has been built in. nexus s live wallpaper is now built in, there are a few other small changes that im forgetting but its late so you'll have to forgive me. FOR BEST RESULTS, FLASH DEODEXED GINGERBREAD, THEN FLASH THIS RIGHT AFTER. Mount system is all that's needed. I really hope you guys like the keyboard cuz it was tough but it's all mine.

2 attempts at loading, 2 bootloops.
I've removed a good number of bloat apps, but I can't think of why that would break boot up.
Are there any other pre-reqs other than GB and Deodexed?

i dont think it would.. most people havent boot looped so thats whats so confusing to me...

Re engineered link FIXED. new linky, should fix F/C, if you are not installing on a fresh install and have problems IDK what to do, I don't use this ROM, I only made it as it is EVO framework. So, do a clean install, load the rom once, then back to recovery and flash this, worked for me...

I'm not familiar with that ROM, but if it uses the EVO framework then it should work not a problem.

try installing it after loading the rom fresh i think that may be only the way, sorry man, im not sure why, but it works for me

Cool, thanks. I actually had to delete "%22" at the end of the url.
I like the theme but I get a FC when going into the dialer. Already wiped cache and dalvik. Any suggestions?

this rom sucks.... i installed using deodexd first didnt even work just constant force closes couldnt even get to main menu. Tried odex installed but theme chooser force closed deleated adw launcher cant isntall launcher 2 im getting mad now....

Please learn how to wipe the system from a previous rom before trying to flash this. This rom works 100%, thanks for your positive input.

I did wipe! Both times! Ive been rooting since my HTC Hero. I do know what im doing. I wiped system factory reset, and cache BOTH times. I was on Synergy RC1 before going to your rom. Dont tell me what i dont know when i do know bud.

Looks good except the camera said media scanner running and would shut down.
just sits on samsung logo after flashing this theme ive wipe everything 3x data,system,cache,dakvik,etc also used darkside wipe and everytime after flashing this theme all i get is a boot loop... any ideas on why? thanks

Dude that's normal. When your media is scanning you can't play music or take pics because storage are being scanned. No offense by how long you had android bruh. Plus i didn't theme camera.apk

Well You sir clearly don't know how to flash Theme! To flash theme you just wipe cache3x not system or data. Because you are not installing rom. And the reason you got bootloop is because you did wipe system data and used darkside wipe. So just wipe cache 3x and flash it you will be good.
Please be respectful guys. No need to fight or argue over this stuff. Some members know less... give them a chance and teach them kindly without judgment.

Which t989 rom?? ICS?? If its ICS Rom i m waiting for a stable rom with everything working. Once that happens i will start themeing. Until than this is what i have! Plus for GB roms i have several themes in t989 section! like Black Hole, Phone Candy, Honey, Classic White!

It's supposedly makes pic's and video's make look better... Who knows. So I just threw them inside the rom. No Harm.

EDITED- BEST ROM EVER. The issues I had must have been something weird. Bad download, shady install... I don't know. What I do know is the second time I installed this ROM its working beautifully. Appologies to the Dev. You obviously took your time with this. Great work! This is the first ROM I've used where I actually like the stock launcher. This ROM is very battery friendly and everything I've tryed so far works as advertised. Including CWM on boot + GPS.

On the positive side... I like the notification screen, phone pad dialer, the whole system seems very smooth and quick. I might take another look at this when I have more time. Thanks for your efforts! You will make a lot of people happy with this.

Had to cancel download so I haven't been able to download and flash yet so I don't know about the lockscreen or keyboard. However, I know that the market/play store will FC if you flash /system without clearing data... to fix it just clear cache+data, uninstall updates, then leave it open for a minute or two to update.
How do you make roms? Do u use the android kitchen? Im interested in making (yet another) rom for the a2

BTW, back to topic, I saw that the file is 258 MB and there is no gapps one, so I assume the ROM already contains gapps, doesn't it? Are they updated or are they the ones from 201303 package?
Actually I have a really poor internet signal so I don't think I'll be able to test the ROM 'till this afternoon (let's hope), but I'll report my impression, if you please, as soon as I can!
last question: why Penguin ROM? Is it an homage to Linux (which I love! ), isn't it?

I cannot flashed the rom after a full wipe. It doesn't want to be installed.

Nothing more. I use TWRP without problem everytime
After the full wipe, select your rom for install and valid. The install try to run but nothing.
After 1/2 min a message tell me that the tablet cannot install it and reboot.
The recovery came back to the menu and use my backup for restore.
I haven't try and another time cause I hadn't time for.
I really like this rom but since I installed it, my wifi has been nuts. Half my apps say no internet connection and some work perfect. Got a full wifi signal and am only a couple feet away. Tried resetting it and changing the settings but nothing.

Yeah, it installed no problem.

I'm sorry, I posted this in the wrong one. I couldn't find the thread so I searched it, I didn't realize I was on the 3G page. I downloaded and installed the regular wifi version.
