So I flashed my Nightly 31 and worked fine... beside the GPS... anyways I then noticed that RC4 came out so I backed up the current rom and cleared cache and flashed RC4 over the Nightly all though Rom manager.
Well RC4 didn't fix the GPS for my Evo so I went back to the Nightly through recovery... Now when I was back in my Nightly I noticed that my contacts were all missing and it said to sync my acc. to upload them. so I opened Gmail to make sure my acc. was still on the phone but Gmail just opens and closes... no force close just pops up and then closes. so I uninstalled it and tried to open the market to reinstall but the market won't even open! the button is just non responsive... WTF
all my other gapps work maps...etc...
So I was just wondering if anyone has experienced this problem or if anyone knows a fix... Thanks in advance for any and all help!
Full wipe, (data, cache & dalvik), and reinstall RC4. Have the ROM and Gapps .zips ready on your SD card and boot into recovery to execute everything.

Hey guys I'm totally new to rooting and installing custom rom's. I managed to root and install gv 1.4 on my tmobil g2 w the help of g2 hacks. I'm loving gb and was thinking I was finally getting hang of installing rom's.
However, when I tried to upgrade from gv 1.4 to 1.8 it didn't work, I'd dl'd .zip file from from the gv thread went into rom manager selected install from sd, picked gv1.8 from the dl folder on sd and the when I clicked to install choose option to wipe data and cache.
Then after it formatted and wiped data and installed new rom and rebbooted, I got into settings and it's still gv 1.4 and gb2.3.1 not 1.8 and gb 2.3.3. All my apps were gone as if I had just installed new rom but it's still gv 1.4. So I did nandroid backup restore (think thats what it is) through clockwork back to gv1.4 and everything was back to normal .
Do I need to install gv 1.8 from cloworkrecovery? Do I need to delete the original gv1.4 signed zip file from my sd? Do I need to go into clockwork recovery and wipe data, cache, and the dalvik cache and the install? What am I doing wrong?
Also tried to install cm 7 rc 4 w gapps from rom magager and selected wipe data cache, cm 7rc4 seemed to b fine. I went into titanium backup non paid version to restore apps and data but every app would need me to manually click install as if I was installing from amazon appstore, is there a way to restore apps and data w titanium without having to confirm every app? Is that a premium feature?
Then I go into settings to turn on wifi and the my phone starts rebooting in a loop where even if I held down volume dwn and power it wld show the cm 7 startup animation start to recognize network and then reboot. Had to take out battery and then hld dwn volume and power to get into recovery and then nandroid restore gingervillain 1.4.
So basically I been able to root my g2 install gv 1.4 which has been great, but can't upgrade to gv 1.8 and any attempts to flash diff rom haven't worked. Any help wld be greatly appreciated.
I'm not some freckled face teeny bopper who hasn't tried to figure out himself. Spent last cpl weeks on xda reading and studying.

Has anyone got maps to update with Tiamat, i have renamed the apk in system/apps tried to reinstall from market it fails, removed it and tried again it fails, downloaded the apk and manually tried to installed it and it fails. Reinstalled the version with tiamat installed fine, but back to square one it wont update.
Any ideas

Did that and boom everything force closed, was almost like a mini factory wipe even started with add my google login info. then all my installed apps just FC.
now doing a factory wipe and cache wipe...grrrrrrrrr....LOL Happy days...hahaha

Just updated to 1.11.4 from 1.10.28, i can not download any apps from the market it says unable to download due to an error, any one else having this problem
yes i have the same issu......but at me is no message....it show "at downloading" and than do nothing....with hadpa and wifi.....i have delet datafrom market...no effect....by market 3.1.3 and 3.3.11!
What can i do?
I switched back to 1.10.28
I just switched back to and everything is working fine again. Ibsee other people are having similar problems I will wait for a fix and then go back to it as of now 1.10.28 I haven't had any issues with using my touch 4g
I had a few issues on my captivate, but was fine again after wiping cache, dalvik cache from the advanced menu, etc.

Right odd one here : story goes ive installed the new CM9 ics Nightly build for my nexus s and it installed all ok gapps work well sort of i cant log into my google account i can make a new one but not use my old one that has all my contacts and apps saved to it and emails and is set up right.
any idea why i can make new one and log in and do all but cant use my old one ive had years?

Try to login through a PC to see if accound is active. If its ok, then probably its better to do a full backup and flash again the and then the latest release of the gapps for ics to see if that will work (if not just do a restore...) . by the way,do a clean install.

When you flashed cm9 have you done a clean install, like clear cache 3 times, or any other thing to make sure that older system files weren't left?
I noticed that playstore keeps crashing everytime i try to install an app.
i installed the last rc1 build and it worked fine initially, but since yesterday night, since i installed the last maps, currents, street view etc...
But since this morning i tried to install facebook, and now play store just keeps crashing
Anyone else with the same problem?
i deleted cache and delvik, deletede play store cache. uninstalled updates, tried to install the new jelly bean version but it didn't help.
Any ideas?
tried reflashing the rom over it, deleting delvik and cache, and reinstalling gapps package, no success here.
Try clearing the app data for playstore.

Yes, i forgot to mention it, but it is the first thing that i did...
i removed phonesky.apk from /system/app, installed new apk, didn't help, from the second play store tries to update or download something, it just crashes.
I will wait and try a bit further before considering full wipe... :-(

Did you try to completely uninstall Play Store then reflash the GApps.zip from recovery?
It sounds like something is glitchy with the app or files associated with it. If you just tried to install new versions over it you might have kept what's causing the problem. So do a full delete of the Play Store.
It can't hurt!
yeah i had tried that, the second the phone booted, the crash notification appeared right away.
I wiped everything except sd card, installed other rom, and so far so good,
i guess i'll wait for the next release of OS...
