Hello,
I currently have a problem with the automatic time synchronization.
When I set a correct time and switch to automatic, it slowly differs to a point where I have to "fix" the time myself (when more than 5 minutes).
I tried setting a completely false time (11am when it's only 8am) and switch automatic sync. It doesn't synchronize at all, it stayed on 11am and I had 3hours difference all day long.
I though it was my provider but a friend with an Iphone and the same provider manage to synchronize. Also, I found on my provider website a tutorial with the nexus S saying it should work (so I guess my provider support NITZ)
Any ideas ?
I currently have a stock nexus S and have SFR (in france) as a provider.
Thanks in advance
if network sync is not working for you
then i'll suggest this nice little app
ClockSync

it's simply the best

Aren't there a way to make the android sync working (or making the provider working with it)?
I'm the kind of person who likes having fewer application on his phone.
(but of course if there is no solution, I'll download the app)
just for reference, i'm on stock 2.3.3 and it works pretty much right away after i enabled Network Sync in settings
a couple of weeks back during the NAM time change, i checked the box, and a few sec later it updated the time from my carrier
so, if there is a bug, it would not be from the AOS but rather something else, it could be a some other settings issues, or simply your phone carrier might not talk in the same language for the NTP sync... as in they are only compatible with iphones
or it could be a million of other things
the easiest way to find out is to factory reset the phone
uncheck the sync network time in settings
change the time to something wrong
then go back to settings and enable the sync network time
and if it changes after a couple of minutes, then your phone is fine, and it was probably some other installed apps causing the problem

fix
1-install and open
2-hit on look for apns sitting for your sim , another menu will pop to pick you apns
3- hit any one thats will pop another menu with sitting (you can apply it or GO TO ANDROID APPS SITTINGS)
AND HERE IS THE CATCH.
hit it thats when you see two apns sittings
go to the first one and apply the default or what you add
then go to second one and apply the default again .or what you
thats will fix the apns in the phone and the signal and data stays on all the time

Agreed but do you mean that data won't sleep after this?
I understand the instructions: effectively you use the suggested app to access the apn settings of your phone. it shows that there is two different apn settings, and by setting them both to default will fix the data connection problems.
I tried this, however it has had no effect on my phone. tested extensively as I am in hospital just now and haven't been off my phone.
Vodafone UK, HTC one S S4, rooted with stock 4.0.4 android.
Easiest/quickest fix I've found is to change connection type to GSM only, then back to CDMA once the phone signal resets. bloody annoying though, surprised that there isn't a fix for this yet.

Check your settings to see if it was turned off - power down & reboot it, try again.

Check if your Location settings isn't off!!
It's never worked for me even with the Nexus 4. Google Location Reporting is on. Location is on and is in Battery Saving mode which uses my Wi-Fi connection to locate my phone. Their app is hopeless so I now use an app called Lookout which is a lot more reliable than the Google one.
Changed the Mode to High Accuracy but still no luck locating my phone!!!!

Windows phone 8 Can not be a lot of features that make all people spend a lot of money to upgrade to new devices and about 20% of the windows phone users do not need to spend a lot of money
Why Microsoft Stopped Skype Services for windows phone 7.8 !! >>> Skype Paid services
I agree, 8 does not offer enough for the money over 7.8 for me to want to upgrade my perfectly working Radar. Well, perfectly until recently when Maps suddenly stopped being able to find any business or POI...
As of september it can't find any business or POI (starbucks, gas station, library, etc.), only cities and street names. I ditched the stock ROM and flashed deepshining WP7.8 so I can use the Nokia Here Maps and Drive.
What's really gets me though is I noticed the business search still works after a factory reset, but only until a few mins in when the phone finishes configuring itself. That is with the sim in, and If i leave the sim out while it configures and put it in afterwards it works for a few hours before it suddenly stops. This means the service is there and perfectly useable by the old app. It's like it must be some configuration finally completing and changing some setting to disable it. This really ticks Me off.
I'm going to try to pull a reg backup right after reset while it's still working and compare it to one from after it dies, not sure where and which hive to start looking in though, so if anyone can point me in the right direction that would be much appreciated.
Nevermind They also broke the search button: http://wmpoweruser.com/did-microsoft-break-the-windows-phone-7-8-bing-search-feature/
P.S. I called T-Mobile TS about the issue and they've had other reports, so I'm not the only one. They tried to three-way call HTC about it to ask some qs, but ended up just sending me to them by mistake, anyway HTC pointed the finger at MS and gave Me their number. Good luck with that eh.
UPDATE - FIX FOUND!: http://forum.xda-developers.com/win...-business-poi-search-disabled-ms-fix-t3229083
in short, it's a business... :silly:
but wait, the Windows Phone 8.1 support will ends on Jul 11, 2017
p.s.: to tell the true, it's just too sad to see how the great idea is buried alive...
As the title says, what is Network operator Theme pack? Ive already googled it and there is nothing close to it.
I was looking through my phones app list with system apps showing and I saw an app with that name, Network operator Theme pack and I dont recall seeing it before. It goes without saying, but I didnt install that app. The package name is "com.android.networksettings.overlay.ct".
There is also an app called Permission controller Them pack and its package name is "com.google.android.overlay.modules.permissioncontroller".
While they may mean nothing at all and be completely harmless, the "overlay" part raised a little red flag for me. Ive also been having severe battery drainage issues, but I dont know if that is related or not. Severe as in losing 1% of the charge every 3-8 minutes when using the phone and about 4%-5% every 45-60 minutes when the screen is off.
I looked at the list of processes running in 3C All in One Toolbox (paid version) and the only thing that was a problem was the mediaextractor kernel process which I killed each time it was a problem as it was eating up in excess of %150+ of the phones cpu. I was also rooted up until a few weeks ago when I updated magisk (through magisk manager) & edxposed, then after the phone restarted I was no longer rooted and unable to re-root without wiping all my data (which, needless to say I did not do as I am not in the mood to start over from scratch right now.
So yeah, if anyone could tell me what the strange app package is and maybe help me figure out my battery drainage problem, Id greatly appreciate it.
My phone is a OnePlus 7 Pro running android 10.
Stay healthy everyone!
P.s. I attached a screenshot of the app info window from both of the strange apps mentioned above.

Hi all
Hopefully this question thread is not break the rule.
Just trying to find some info and help from the community. Thank you.
It's been a while that I realize this Flip 4 have different behavior related to location reporting. As previously use Xiaomi and Realme, I never have this issue. At first, I thought there's something wrong with my Google Maps setup, then I 100% sure it's because of the phone, as I change back to my old phone the issue is disappear.
If you go to Google Maps timeline, it will show you the location history of your phone. With Flip 4, my journey is almost every time showing straight lines, it should be showing the road I drive, not straight lines like flying. See attached image.

What I did so far
- Location allowed all the time for Maps and also Google
- No battery/background restriction
- Power saving ON or OFF doesn't matter
- I intentionally open Maps and not closing it
Nothing is working, Maps timeline still showing straight lines every time I commute.
I try several phones using same account, it's positive something wrong with my phone.
Permission usage history also showing there's very minimum background usage of location, it should be periodically reporting location.
I have been using galaxy series long before maps have this feature and i thought this is normal, on every phone.

Thank for replying, but as my experience is not like that.
This is how Maps timeline look like when using Realme phone back then.
It showing the drive path, following road not straight lines like previous attachment.
