nandroid:
http://www.multiupload.com/CFOEZA0ZQ2
fixed sbf: many thanks to DOCIOHN.
http://goo.gl/7NpdA
HOWTO:
Official KR SBF has lower versions of CG31(v2) and CG39(v2). so someone can't boot with offical SBF.
If you had ever flashed other leaked Froyo or stock v2.51,
1. restore nandroid backup.
2. flash fixed SBF with RSDLite.
3. It's always good to wipe out data and cache in recovery mode.
If not, just flash official sbf.

Thanks a lot. AFAIK, this should have the stable 720P codec. The Korean 2.1 was wonderful for running AVI, MKV files.
Is there any disadvantage of korean region for european users? I mean: signal issues, or something similar?
I dont think why there would be any disadvantage. But, if I were you, I would wait for someone to turn this into a customized ROM. It has a lot of bloatware.
I am very interested in this too, because I already have 2.2 but it has some problems I want to upgrade to an oficial 2.2 release, but I live in Europe and I'm very interested in knowing if it has any problems working on Europe GSM networks.

As far as I remember, I had serious signal issues with chinese ROM, furthermore US and european ROM is not fully "compatible". So that's why I asked, I don't know if there are these kind of differences between the regions.
I don't really like customized ROM by others, I usually do the customization for my own. Okay, a deblurred base would be nicer, but I'm really curios about new versions.

I'm not sure but there was no problem when I flashed european ROM to my Korean Defy one of disadvantage for european user would be language support. it contains only English and Korean.
With what tool did you get the code group versions?
ASOP sliders? Have you themed it already, or is that stock?

That is because it has version 2 for CG31 and CG39, if you are on stock 2.51 those versions are 3 and if you flashed leaked froyo those are 4 and you cannot flash any firmware with lower versions. if you are on 2.21 or 2.34 you can flash this, otherwise you will brick your phone.
Note, if you have non-downgradeable rom , this is not the rom for you.
You can flash this rom if you followed higgy's thread

vick33, good explanation. as we can see in this post, breezasib and Simplestas found the secret of CG versions but unfortunately, we have no complete key to unlock it yet. this sbf would work with only one who is being on eclair v2.21/2.34 or Chinese Froyo.

Please let us know your result. you can use Skrilax_CZ's SBF depacker to remove CG31/CG39 and to repack it.
I was on Pays-ROM v5.1 [3.4.3-11 based!] before flashing the Korean firmware.
But now when I flash my Defy with this Korean version, my phone not respond "means it display only white LED flash only and nothing else ...
Can anybody tell me what I did wrong.

And is this in English?
Where can I find the old version 1.19.832.2
Guess what! Defy released yesterday in India and it seems to be the one without Motoblur. Since a central european version cannot be used in India, there seems to be another firmware that Motorola came up with.
By the weekend I should have my friend upload the Deblured rom for us to use.
Well if 2.1 is still interesting for some that is.

Yes, I will need to teach my friend to make the backup and upload it from India. BTW seems like the version is called 2.52 . Sounds scary of it being unrootable and non-downgradable.
i got defy recently in New Delhi....version says 2.51.....i thought it had motoblur...now wud check again...
can somebody confirm whether the indian defy is rootable?
i am planning to buy this phone and if it is supposed to get froyo in june, i should rather stick with my galaxy 3.

haven't come across any unrootable rom yet.
and if you do buy it, please post your nandroid backup.
ps there are already froyo roms floating around. and no one knows when would an indian version would come.
ok so i can flash sbf files even if the bootloader is 2.51?
if yes then what is the problem with 2.51 that everybody is advising not to upgrade?

the problem is always that you can't go back. unless you have a nandroid backup. any future upgrade should be fine.
Price of Defy in India ... delhi Region in retail.... anyone.... ?
it retails for INR 18000 at flipkart.com
It's without MOTOBLUR???
Had the same here in Thailand. However I didn't make a backup before I put a custom rom on it. Wish I had!
But it's definitely out there. Mine was a 2.51 rom with static moto boot logo and no motoblur widgets or popups whatsoever. Actually, yesterday I found a file called JRDNEM_U3_2.51.1_DEBLUR_P3_SIGN_SIGNED_UCAJRDNEMARAB1B80AA030.0R_USAJORDANRTCEE_P031_A020_HWp3_Service1FF.sbf.gz at 4shared but now it has been deleted. Don't know if it was real though.

Yes you need to return your defy to UK 2.1 retail. Just a little favor after downloading the update from MSU. Please check the folder and share to us the SBF (or anyone who would update via msu.)
nice to see it finally making an appearance, even though it's retail only - so of course T-Mobile users have to wait even longer.
Personally, I gave up waiting and took the plunge to upgrade to CM7 RC0 - Motorola are just far too slow.
That's excellent news! Can anyone confirm the exact filename of the SBF so that I can download it direct from Motorola's server? It will be in the firmware folder of the Motorola software updater program directory during the download phase.

Eventually got an update down via the motorola update software, copied the .sbf file safely out of the folder and ran through the update. Just as i was in the process of creating a multi-upload account, i noticed something... As my device was bought through t-mobile, the update software decided i needed the 2.51 update (which is what was on it 6 months ago!).
Anyone with a retail version of the defy that can get the .SBF plz?

The file andy managed to download on his t mobile handset was the old eclair released months ago, and is available on the and developers defy page. It is not froyo, as indicated by the 2.51 build number.

Hi,
I went through the upgrade. I looked for the sbf and it was there. Once I finished the upgrade it had been deleted!!
Anyone doing the upgrade, please grab the sbf file before it competes.

I downgraded my phone to eclair now firmware version is 2.1 update1 and blur version is 2.21.0 retail en gb why the moto update says there is no updates available, does the kernal version matter for update.
Did you downgrade with the fixed 2.21 sbf plus nandroid method? Im not sure what godegroup version you have on your phone but will it let you install a full 2.51 sbf uk retail?

This rom is for Korean carrier KT's. If you install this, you'll face a lot of carrier-specific bloatwares that you have never seen. However, many Korean rooters wanted to find this RUU due to enhanced call quality which was reported in Korean site.

Maybe we should just extract the radio from it http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1054304&page=11
Oops, I made a mistake. The latest version of Korean Desire HD is 3.17.1010.1, not this version. I hope 3.17 leaks, too.

Yes, it seems so. I checked the version of radio, so I found it same as this one. I heard those who upgraded to 3.17.1010.2 got better call quality than the previous version, so I guess there were multiple certain changes. I guess this 3.13.1010.2 version was updated due to bugs occurred in Google Korean Keyboard. Anyway, I cannot say there is no difference between RIL of this and that, though.
Ok so where do we get 3.13 or 3.17 from then?
I installed RUU_Ace_Sense30_S_HTC_ARA_3.13.415.2_Radio_12.65.60.29_26.14.04.28_M_release_227469_signed and Palestine.3.13.415.2 and both down have english (US) or UK and the market is in a foreign currency

I don't know. Recently, I haven't seen RUU leaks related HTC Korea from a few months ago...
Has anyone got a mirror? From the site posted in the OP it's taking me a day to download, if nothing goes wrong.
