[Q] market my apps - Xoom Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Is anyone else having an issue with my apps in the market? Every time I click on it it force closes

Link for lazy people like me
Nix that -- no info > lazy... what's your dev name? I searched Sic and found a bunch by Sic! that load fine in the market.

not a dev I meant the program called "my apps" built into the market on the wifi xoom the market apk is called finsky and the vending apk refers to an app called "my apps" I think I've narrowed it down to an adblock app using logcat but I've uninstalled it and its not fixing it

[Q] Android Market-Alarm Service

Ever since I installed the new market, I have noticed a process called AlarmService under com.android.vending in my running applications screen under settings. I'm curious what it does and why its eating up 18 MB of ram while constantly running in the background? I have force closed it and have not seen any effects on the market but it usually comes back on reboot. I have tried searching around but cant find a definite answer.
Does it stop showing up if you disable Market notify through the settings in Market?

I have had update notifications disable since I got the new market but it still runs in the background. I wouldn't mind so much but its using double the RAM of anything I have running in the background.
I just noticed the same thing after I was messing around with the app droidwall. It may or may not be related but nevertheless I have the same process running.
solution
delete Lookout Mobile Security (antivirus) or any other app that have permission "market billing"

How to delete "My Apps" from Android Market?

Ok, so since I change roms occasionally it is a pain to have my apps try and restore themselves everytime I start a new ROM. I'd be ok if it were just 50 or so apps, but it tries to install every app I have ever downloaded and that is a TON!
I know I can skip the sign in process and turn off "automatic restore" but is there a way to just delete the cache of apps that the Market thinks I want? That way I can allow the auto restore without having it force close my phone because its overloaded.
+1
anyone??????????
there are no body for this...
The only way i can think of is uninstalled each app via the market once it's installed. That will remove it from your account
Has anyone ever figured this out? I have tried uninstalling from "Manage applications" in settings. I have tried uninstalling from the marketplace app. I have went onto the website but there is NOTHING that you can do with the apps in your "My Apps" list.
I flash my phone a few times a month and I think it is nice that it will reinstall all your market apps but there are a LOT that I just install to try and then want them GONE forever. Has anyone ever figured this out?
Thanks,
supersobbie
There is no way to do it from what I can tell. It drives me nuts. I wish Google would fix this.
There is a toggle for it in privacy settings and if using a new gb release you get that option in the setup wizard too
Thanks, but I do not think that is exactly what I am looking for.
I use CM7 nightlies but a few times a month I like to clean house and reinstall. Yes I do get the option to either sync or not sync.... but both ways suck right now. If I sync then I have to go back and remove all the CRAP that is sitting out there... If I dont sync I have to go back and install all the Apps that I actually want from there....
Both way suck. What I want is to be able to remove the items in the list for restore. That is the part that Google needs to fix. It is just annoying as heck.
Thanks,

Edit the "market_assets.db" file perhaps?

I believe that Google has said that if you uninstall an app that you did NOT purchase then it will be removed from your "My Apps" section within a week or so? Has anyone seen this?
As far as removing individual apps, perhaps the /data/data/com.android.vending/databases/market_assets.db file can be edited? I have found that deletion of this file, a reboot, then opening the android market; solves the "Missing My Apps" section on the market. I JUST did this solution, so I am not sure if this is a long term fix or not.
This issue in particular may be related to Titanium Backup Pro? Unsure, but I am a user if Titanium Backup
My point is, this database file has our market link data. Claerly when the data is broke the "My Apps" section is missing, yet perhaps there is a way to edit this file to hide a few apps from the "My Apps" section?
I can't post up links yet as I am still a new member, but if someone wants to view the .db files there is an application called "SQLite Database Browser" available on PortableApps dot com. This browser does not appear to show the actual data, only the tables and extents, yet this is at least a start... I believe there are linux database viewers that will actually show the data if desired
--Edit--
I found the Google link about removing downloaded apps. They simply say you can uninstall, and that there is no way to remove the apps from "My Apps" section on com.android.com

I am not sure if it is relevant but there is an option in Titanium Backup relating application's market link or something. May it be useful?

Tell us more. Does this finally solve the problem of removing old paid apps from our accounts?

Glad if it helps. I wasn't sure because i never used that.
I know its a somewhat old thread but I myself would like to delete the "my apps" from play store... does anyone know if its possible?
Didn't find it in TB... but the way, doesn't it unlink only apps that you have installed?
Im looking for this feature also...Remove link from market...i don't have these apps installed anymore...
remove apps from my apps
Go to Google Play
Press the downloaded symbol (line with arrow above it) in the top left corner.
Slide over to "All"
To select, hold finger on an app.
Now you can just tap an app to add it to the list.
Repeat for all apps you want to remove.
Press remove in top left.
Done.
This is the fastest wayI have found but really it needs a webpage or something to quickly select from the THOUSANDS of apps cluttering the place.

( sorry for bad english, i am french and very angry )
I discovered today that Google lied a lot about removing unused app from his list ...
The app are just hidden for us, Google keep all in his database
i am so angry
i searched a way for blocking market to update itself automaticely, and i found here on this forum the way ( with chattr +i )
And go back to market 3.1.3
And i had big surprise when i saw all the app i had "removed" from list are still here ....

[Q] Market Apps

Hey guys,i have loads of apps instaled on my Desire of which some 80% were instaled from the sdcard. Now my q/ ,how can i make those apps show up on my Market appa list aka "my instaled apps" ,cuz i can only see those apps which were instaled thru the market???
@Tapatalk
To have a complete look on the folders and files in your phone, try using Astro File Manager. You can find it on the Market of course.
Uhm,thats not what i asked.
@Tapatalk
Maybe you should try app 2 sd you can dowload it on the market

Problem: Installed apps from SD not showing in Market under My Apps.
Question: Is there a way to make them show up in the Market app, under My Apps.
Side loaded apps will never appear in the Market for you. The Market only keeps track of apps you purchase and/or download from it. Sorry!
Tnx Mike for clearing that up for me
Sometimes even apps installed from the Market might not show up in your market account.
Though supposedly if you uninstall and re-install a free app, your apps will then all be listed.

[Q] new market app

I'm having a problem with the new market app. It sends me notifications for some dating app.
If I go into settings and untick google admob ads it doesn't make any difference.
Any thoughts how I can stop these?
Thanks

Are you sure its the market? How do you know its the market? I noticed ads in the notification bar from a mp3 downloader, but not from the market itself.
No, not certain, but if I click on the notification it opens the market at an app for the dating people. So just a guess
Sounds like you have some kind of rougue app on your phone...Market isn't the problem...you installed another app that has this extra crap in there that tries to get you to install the dating app.
Check the apps youve installed recently and remove them until you find the one causing it

I've been using the apk that was posted here since yesterday with no issues.
Im having a problem with ICS Market. Or 3.2.0. It wont let me purchase any apps. Tried clearing data. Uninstall/reinstall. I can download free apps but get an unmarked error(no info just error) when trying to purchase anything.
Sent from where ever I was when I posted this
(fingers crossed) I think I may have solved it by deleting the Air Hockey app I had downloaded from the market. I think it may have had a little 'extra' item included.
Once I know it's stopped for sure I'll name and shame the app on here... otherwise I'm still looking!
There are a few apps out there that do that, one of them is or was the free
version of a '3' network usage checker. Kept getting push adverts until I
uninstalled the thing.
OK, no more notification pop up adverts, so I'm saying avoid - Glow Hockey 2 -
Thanks for the help guys,
Stewart

[Q] "similar" apps missing

I am new to Google App Dev Store. I have uploaded an app. I can see that other apps have a section called "similar" that shows apps that are similar to them. This section is however missing under my app. Do I need to do something for this feature to appear? This is my app btw:
Donkey Dodge. System doesn't allow me to post link.
