Is there a apk for the HTC sense home launcher
Sent from my HERO200 using XDA App
Not that I know of, if you're using a build that doesn't come with it, then you don't have the frameworks. Those are needed for it to work. I'm pretty sure thats why everybody (including myself) has been purchasing Launcher Pro Plus and using those sense-like widgets, coupled with the ability to change the dock background. Theres a bunch of good backgrounds that make it look like The sense launcher. Theres a zip on the cm6 sense theme thread last page that has a ton of them. Rosie, Espresso/Expresso. Pretty much everything you could want. Sorry if this doesn't help.
Thank you for your help I will try the cm6 sense theme

I haven't looked because really I don't know where to start.
I'm looking for launchers that might catch my eye. Currently I'm using Go Launcher because its pretty unique. Beautiful transitions, drawer transitions. Not enough that I want to keep it, but I am using it. I've used probably ever market launcher possible, I believe I remember seeing certain people make there own and am curious if some of this fellows who make them or find them would like to post them?
I've used SPB shell more then half of my android life I've had the phone, that being said. It is a great launcher but I just need something less power hungry and not huge in size.
I'm looking for unique and simple but yet beautiful launcher.

also have regina 3d,gde,@home,panda,dxtop,various others in the market. android seven is a neat one for a desktop look based on win7
Launcher Pro Plus is one of the most popular choices and it's what I use.
Along side with WidgetLocker you can create some pretty great looking stuff.
Attached is my lockscreen and homescreen.
I've tried every one of those ----

Go Launcher Ex
Minimalistic Text
LCD Density
Fancy Widget (Update its not in a new screen shot)
MIUI, Corzeth Theme?
Sent from my ADR6300 using XDA App
I'm just so damn proud of my setup I need to post my updated screenshots
I used to run launcher pro, but development kind of stalled and the widgets were lacking.
Currently I am running go launcher ex, and it's probably the closest thing to sense in third party launchers. The calendar widget is great and the recent and running app tabs are great. Their weather widget is the closest thing to sense I've found but unfortunately it destroys your battery life.
Another thing to try is their dialer. It has the quick dial search like sense. You don't have to use the launcher with this one.

wow thats a nice setup!
I wouldn't call it beautiful, but I use zeam launcher. It's simple and useful.

Hey guys, I'm thinking on getting a new launcher, but I don't know which one to get. So maybe you guys can give me some recommendations. Thanks.

I like LauncherPro the most right now. I used to ADW while I was on Froyo, but that seems to lag for me on GB. Funny that LauncherPro used to lag for me on Froyo instead.
I would love GoLauncher, but it doesn't have the Sense-like previews, so I don't use it. It's the smoothest of all launchers, imo.
Id have to say adw ex is the best launcher ive tried em all but adw always has me coming back, it has every feature of every launcher and more.. Just my opinion and its been better to me on GB then it was with froyo

For me, definately Go Launcher EX.
I decide how many docks, rename all applications to my language, put them in folders, close all applications when i want and i use a combination of iphone and HTC sense themes. It is super fast and never crashes. I didn't try launcher pro, but i didn't like adw UI at all.

I go back and forth with adw ex and go launcher ex. Right now I have go launcher on my phone and adw on my tablet. I do feel that go launcher ex has more features than adw ex but adw is more stable.

Using ADW with GB. kinda prefer launcherpro however - have not tried it on GB yet.
I am using ADW EX and loving it.
i use zeam launcher. nice and simple. may not have any themes, but who needs em with the people here? plus, there's no lag that i've noticed. all in all a good launcher with some simple customizations.
now raver, you need a tester
for your launcher? no you know how to reach me.

Thanx guys for all the options. I ended up going with the launcher that came with the sweet acid theme. I love it since it has the aosp look and its very smooth. Thanx anyway.

I used launcher pro on froyo and it had many options but i ended up using zeam cuz its simpler and fast.
In GB am stuck with ADW cuz its the one that comes in ravers ftw rom.
Also, I used go but it drained my battery fast and just saw theres a new one... qq launcher. So my suggestion is you spend some time with them and decided which one you liked the most.
oh ill release it in due time lol i got a few supprises donaters will be getitng some team acid treats before anyone else sorry i been laxing but this fixing miui and studies and work have been eating up anytime i have left
Go Launcher Ex, but now using TouchWiz 4 cause it's light.
I've tried the Valhalla TW, ADW, and launcher pro. I ended up buying the full version of launcher pro. The problem is not one of these launchers had all the features that I wanted in one package, each had features that i couldn't get in the other.
In launcher pro, I don't like the HTC style app menu, I want to be able to organize my apps. I love the swype function of the dock icons to activate pull up menus, and the Widgets. Though the one thing that i hate about this launcher is the lack of real notification options for apps such as Gmail and email as you see with go launcher or adw.
Sent from my SGH-T959V using XDA App
Are there any light-weight launchers that significantly improve battery life? I'm using Valhalla/TW atm.
Zeam is my launcher of choice. Clean, responsive and I like the gestures to open notifications or the app drawer. It seems to have a good memory footprint for all the features.
But I'm on the MIUI beta 1 that's in the dev forum right now so I'm using its launcher atm.
Alright, here's a short, crappy head to head review of the two launchers.
I'm on Valhalla-Final ROM, which has a UI based off of ADW. I started out using Go Launcher, which over the past two months, has seen major updates with new features and improvements. It's probably the most customizable launcher I've used until now. It's definately no slouch, and the coolest thing, to me, would be that you can take bits and peices of each theme you download, to piece together your own. For example, I wanted a green and black theme, but none of the ones I could find met my needs completely. So, I downloaded a girly theme that had a green dock background, and another theme with nice icons, and another theme that had great backgrounds, and pieced them together. GREAT! It's smooth, and the launcher has many plug-ins available to enhance your ability to truly customize your phone, such as Go Locker, and Go Weather.
Anyways, a couple of days ago, I decided to check out ADW Launcher EX, to see if it molded to my ROM better. I was so surprised! ADW Launcher, in my opinion, blows Go Launcher out of the water! It doesn't have as many screen transition effects as Go, however, the in-depth customization is far deeper. Hidden dockbar is great, as well as the NUMEROUS icon custom options. As far as I know, ADW doesn't have any plug-ins to enhance the experience. However, I've found Widget Locker to be far more superior to Go Locker, and I use it in it's place. Themes for ADW are just as plenty as Go, but themes in ADW seem to blend better, and provide more eye and finger candy. A person can get lost inside the settings menu of ADW, and that's a good thing for folks like us.
Verdict:
Go Launcher - Great launcher! Perfect for those looking for freebies. Great customization. Plug-ins.
ADW - For a couple of bucks, you get a highly customizable experience, Definately worth it!
I deleted GO after messing with ADW for 10 minutes. The only thing I miss about GO is the triple dockbar. ADW is still cool, with the 'hidden dockbar.'
BONUS!:
A few apps to add for more customization:
Simi Folder
UltimateFavs Pro
Widget Locker
Clockr
Beautiful Widgets
If you haven't heard of any of those apps, YOU MUST CHECK THEM OUT!
If this helped you decide on your launcher, hit thanks!
Yea I bought adw ex 2 yrs ago and never looked back.

I've been using GO EX since ever and I think it's taking a lot of RAM and I don't like all the latest updates, however I didn't find any other launcher that allows you to:
1. Rename every home shortcut to any name, any language.
2. Set up any icon you want - by theme or even jpg image.
If you find such, please let me know.

Been using adw ex since I caught it on sale during the 10 sale...
As for the renaming home key, I'm not sure exactly what that means, if you clarify for me I'll try. But it does allow you to change icons (theme pack or otherwise) and rename them as you please

Itz did you use the paid version of adw? Because the version used in most custom Rom is an stripped down version.

I prefer Go- Launcher....It just seems smoother on my SGS4G. I've also seen a few threads on XDA suggesting that the developer has abandoned ADW Launcher EX....not sure if its true though.

I stand by that creed as well!
Seriously, skeptics...Try the paid version of ADW! You won't regret it! When on your home screen, press the menu button, then press 'More', the 'ADW Settings', then 'General Behavior', then go to App Drawar, select type, and choose 'Vertical 4D'. It's wicked!
They're both great launchers, I wouldn't say adw is more customizable though. Something I always liked about go vs adw was the ability to change your icon to any custom image, such as a downloaded picture. The hidden dockbar of adw is nice, but does nothing other launchers scrollable dockbars don't.
I actually use zeam though. Its not as customizable as adw or go, but it still has more customization than alot of people realize. And I like the minimal size compared to others.

I'm pretty sure you can change your icons in ADW now. I'll double check. I'll have to check out Zeam.
Anyone have anything similar to the few apps I mentioned, yet cooler?
Yeah your right, you can use any image for icon now. I just downloaded the updated (Dec 11) version.
Now the only option its missing that I like is the option to have app drawer automatically reset to top of page every time you open it. I hate opening my app drawer and starting anywhere besides the top.
Give 360 launcher a try, its kind of cool.
Then of course there's the famous 15 dollar launcher, spb shell. Looks cool, but not 15 bucks worth for a launcher.
Sent from my SGH-T959V using xda premium
I have to agree with you on spb. Looks nice, but there isn't that much customization in it. Like you said, definately not 15 dollars worth. I think it would lag like crazy on our device, anyways.
I tried a pirated copy of spb just becuz I wanted to make sure I'd like it before I paid that much for it and I'm glad I did becuz it definitely is not worth $15.00
In my opinion its not worth more than a couple bucks.
Its not very customizable ....I didn't notice any lag.
My opinion is adw ex is top knotch .
Only thing I'd like to see is the option to have a transparent background in the app drawer or an option to change the background with a pic

I have an idea for a home replacement. I don't think this exists yet, but correct me if I'm wrong.
I my idea is a vertical and horizontal scrolling home screen. I like launchers like Nova Launcher or Apex Launcher. Something feature filled without being bloated
I am nowhere near skilled enough to develop such an application, but I would be very pleased to see such an application developed.
Tell me what you guys think! Am I insane for hoping somebody will do this?
