[Q] otterbox commuter - Optimus One, P500, V Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

does anybody knows whether the otterbox commuter case for optimus series will fit on to the optimus p500. i already email them and they answered yes it fits but however on their website it is stated that the case is not compatible with optimus t (tmobile version) which is look a lot like optimus p500.

I have one of those for the optimus v. It fits like a glove. You can compare the dimensions between the v and the t to see if it will fit.

I just ordered an Otterbox Commuter case for my LG-P500h (available through Koodo in Canada). Once it shows up I will be able to confirm if it fits properly.

My Otterbox Commuter arrived today and it fits my LG-P500 perfectly. Everything lines up nicely, a good snug fit (nothing forced). It does not even add that much to the overall size (I had a gel case on previously so this is what I am used to). I was worried about the rubber strip across the front, below the screen - but the four hard buttons are still easily accessible. My previous case was a gel case and now I find it easier to use the top button and volume keys. There are little flaps for the headphone and micro-usb holes. Not waterproof but these flaps do a good job keeping out dirt and lint from my pant or coat pocket. I recommend this case for anyone looking for a little more protection.

i really want to get it too but i wanna make sure it fits

Clip holster for Otterbox Commuter

I just picked up this case/holster combo from Best Buy:
http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Platinu...649794&skuId=1974333&st=htc inspire&cp=1&lp=2
The holster that it comes with holds the Inspire with Otterbox Commuter case very well. It looks like it's just a rebranded Seido Active X holster. So that might work too.
Here's the Seido version:
http://www.seidioonline.com/product-p/hlhtaceasa.htm
Hope this helps
That helps a lot, I had been thinking a lot about getting the Otterbox Defender for a while but it seems like it will add too much bulk to an already big phone. Now is it like a perfect fit, or is it more like it just fits OK? Also does the Otterbox Commuter have the screen membrane like the Defender does? I looked on the Otterbox website and I can't tell if it does or not and the description doesn't say if it does. Thanks and post some pictures if you can.

It's not perfect but very close. There's a small gap between the holster and the phone's screen side at the top (see pictures). The phone doesn't move around or anything though. When taking the phone in and out, you can feel a slight resistance in the bottom corners, but that's due to the rubbery material that is at the corners of the commuter case. The volume rocker, usb, headset and power button can still be accessed while in the holster. The belt clip rotates 180 degrees and has a sturdy feel to it. The holster is designed to hold the phone with the screen facing in towards you. It doesn't really fit well the other way.

It comes with a screen protector that is not part of the case, so it's optional or you can use a different one. The screen protector isn't washable/reusable though, so be careful when applying.
I ended up getting some anti-glare/fingerprint ones that are washable. The cut isn't perfect (you can see it in one of the pictures I attached) but it's good enough. It has a much more smooth feel than the glass and it cleans easier too. It really cuts down the visibility of fingerprints and glare. I got them here:
http://www.handhelditems.com/inspir...finishing-screen-protector-pack-p-159619.html
If you buy from them, use the promo code "htc20phones" (without quotes). You get 20% off accessories for HTC phones

Thanks a lot for your detailed reply and pics, u rock!!!! I already own the case/holster combo from bestbuy and been thinking I want the defender from otterbox but it seems to bulky and I may go for the commuter instead, and use my existing holster for it, again thanks very much for your reply and pictures.
the only reason i ordered the defender was cause it came with a holster, wish i would have seen this a few days ago

I'd have to disagree with the speck case. I bought one when I first got my phone. It protects from scratches. But the case iitself had scratches on it from day one. Small cracks in it by the power button and the charger. Thing falls apart so easily. Also it makes the phone feel huge in my hand. Almost tempted to use my g2x naked

I second the Body Glove, it's an awesome case with great protection.

I'm curious, you guys say you purchased them directly from t-mobile? Does anyone have a link?
Yesterday I found this case at wal-mart (of all places) and it actually looked good, so i picked it up and love it. It's a body glove, but for some reason i dont see it on their website and it doesnt look like any of the cases ive seen at the t-mo store...
I wonder if it's different than the ones you guys have
I definitely second the Body Glove case. I'm not sure why more people dont use it. I've used nothing but Body Glove cases for all my phones since the G1 and I've had the: G1, HTC HD2, HTC HD7, G2X
I've had nothing but good results with the Body Glove cases. They can be found on Ebay for as cheap as $12-$14 also.
I had great success with the body glove for the HTC Touch Pro 2. An awesome product.

The one I found in wal-mart is like half tpu and half rubber. It's only one piece altogether, but a small portion around the top edge is rubber so that the power and volume buttons are easily pushable (they feel fantastic! you feel it as if it were a real button) and then the lower parts of the case are tpu (i think).
On that back side there are some diagonal stripes but they're not so visible because it's black on black, but they come off the case just a little so it gives it a nice grip. On the inside of the case where your slip your phone in it is also rubbery, so it grips on the phone very well.
Besides this purchase I was using a standard tpu case from tpu-cases.com and a tpu fusion case from ebay. Neither of these cases did it for me, i was disappointed because the same tpu cases i had for mytouch 4g were a much better fit.
Anyway, this case is perfect for me, I love it! I can take pictures of it if you guys want, since i cant seem to find it online anywhere.

It pops off every time I've dropped it. But I like everything about it otherwise. The belt clip acts as portrait and landscape stand plus it acts as an anchor you can hug with your 2 middle fingers when holding it in landscape.

I believe they are taking them out of the walmarts the specific case, mine did....your walmarts should have other cases, I would expect you would have asked so maybe not.
I was able to do a site to store, I am not sure if that option is still working though http://www.walmart.com/ip/Body-Glove-TPU-Case-for-T-Mobile-G2X/16617184
I may like the standard T-Mobile sleeve more though, and those are going for 6-8 on ebay. I think the stock sleeve has a bit more protection for drops. If you don't mind a slightly large lip

Galaxy Nexus Surface Holster = Perfect Fit

Perfect fit for our naked Nexus 4, as I'm rocking one right now.
Interesting -- the N4 is just enough bigger than the GNex to fill up the room that would be occupied by the Surface case, eh? If I hadn't already bought a belt holster, I might well have been interested; I had a Seidio belt clip for my N1 and liked it a lot.. Can you post a photo or two of the phone in the holster? Let us know how it does, i.e., if you have any accidents where the phone springs out accidentally or the like.

You're right, I really screwed up. I'm terribly sorry.
I have a lot of holsters, and must have confused myself.
I just checked, and it looks like the HTC Sensation Seidio Holster fits the Nexus 4 perfectly, but the Sensation Surface Holster, not the naked.
Really sorry, and hope you can resolve this. Feel terrible.

Tested with my Active holster for my HTC Sensation and works well with it naked. But not to be a buzzkill, but I do not want my N4 naked in the holster. I have dropped my sensation from this very holster with cases on. I am going to get the Galaxy Nexus Surface holster to see if it fits with a tpu case on or not.

I am getting the Surface holster for the gnex-at the office waiting for me tomorrow am. Anyone know if it'll fit with a tpu case on yet?
Seidio has Surface and Active cases with kickstands that are in development right now in addition to a holster that will work with them both. They don't come cheap though. I have used their products on a number of my phones and I have to say that they are worth every penny. Very protective, the fit is awesome and they even make charging stations that work with the cases on. I reckon by the time I actually get my phone, the Seidio cases will be available.
I'm using my seido active holster (90% sure it is the active holster, the one with a rubber and hard plastic parts for the phone) with my N4 with a tpu case on it and the holster fits almost perfect.

I have the Seidio Surface one for the Gnex and it doesn't fit with a tpu case on. It's a little loose with the N4 naked, but that's a no go for me.
Just an update. I am getting the Diztronic Ultra Thin One Piece Hard Shell case as well to see if it will fit the Surface holster. Will report back next week or whenever I get it in.
Here is the linkage to the 'thinner' case. Keep in mind it doesn't cover the bottom or top of the phone. Alas the some of the "thinner" aspects of the case. Remember to use XDA for a promo coupon code if you haven't done so yet. The code can only be used once, and I already used it on my other TPU lol.

I think I'll be picking up one of the Seidio Surface/Holster combos when they're released. The Nexus 4 is an awesome looking phone, but the back is so slick it ends up sliding away on it's own. This also seems to be one of the only ways to get a good holster for the phone.

well i cant compare as this fits good for me
I also just got the defender and it does fit the phone very nice. But I don't like how it fits in the holster, it feels secure but almost imposable to get it snapped in on the first try or without having to look to get it aligned. Once in the holster it's also difficulty to remove as the release point is on the top, if you have it rotated on your belt.
I'm currently using the Platinum case with holster from Best Buy which is the same as the Seidio surface combo. No where the protection as the Otterbox but very easy to snap in and out the holster.
I'll keep looking for a little ore protection with an easy belt clip function.

I have one and I don't really recommend it. The fit is not that tight and it's a bit slippery. I have the Ringke Fusion and maybe not the prettiest but it fits perfectly and the protection is amazing. Have dropped my phone several time and it doesn't have a scratch.
I use the Ringke Fusion as well. It seemed better than a lot of the other ones specifically for the V35 in terms of protection. It's just ok though, I don't feel great about it's durability or look, but the fingerprint/camera cutouts are good.
Ringke Fusion is by far the best case for the v35 phone. Slim, Protective, and stylish.
The best case for the v35, in my opinion, is the TUDIA Merge LG V35 ThinQ Case. It's thin, unobtrusive, and it fits the camera properly.
The best case I've seen for the V35 is the Speck Presidio Grip. They only come in black for the V35 but the fit and feel is great.

LG V35 cases from Korea.
I just bought 2 clear TPU cases from Korea, from GMarket Global.
I got these 2, http://item2.gmarket.co.kr/English/detailview/item.aspx?goodscode=1487736543 and http://item2.gmarket.co.kr/English/detailview/item.aspx?goodscode=1513004214. Including international shipping from Korea to the US, it cost $20 or about $10 per case. They fit like a glove, including the camera opening that is correctly lined up. Tight fit and before anyone asks, they do not have a "lip" on the front to protect the screen when laying screen down. I bought a cheap tempered glass screen protector for that.
There are other LG V35 cases if you want, but I just wanted a simple clear TPU case.
Custom Leather Case for LG V35
Hello all,
After months of searching, I turned to naver.com to search for a leather case for the V35, hoping that I would have better luck using the Korean search engine. I found a custom shop in Seoul called An's Leather that has them available. Total cost for me with expedited international shipping was $49.11.
I'm too new here to be able to post links, but if you go to naver.com and search for "lg v35 leather case ansleather" you'll get 3 results, all of which show different versions of the case.
He even has 7 colors available and will stamp something in English on it if you tell him when you initially order, I was unfortunately too late in asking.
To order, you have to use KakaoTalk and message username ddajo76. He sent me a link via email to pay via credit card.
I was a little skeptical to order this way, so I waited until I received my case before I posted here. I would compare the quality of this case to be similar to an iPhone leather case.
My Fav case
The Supcase Unicorn Beetle. It's for the V30 but while the cam sits a bit low, its completely serviceable. I bought 3!
Sorry I'm new and can't post a link, but you can find it on amazon and a few other places. $9.99 or less!
It's PC and TPU molded together. Perfect for me!

I second what oregutan25 said. I really like the TUDIA Merge case for the lg v35. It is made for the v35 only, so everything line up properly. Don't get their other cases, it's not made specifically for the v35. What I really like about the case is that the volume button still functions properly(still have the tactile feedback), so you don't have to press extra hard to adjust the volume. I've really grown to like the dual layer design. TPU (flexible) plastic wraps around the phone and a hard (polycarbonate) plastic covers just the back. I use a magnetic mount in the car, so I just slip the thin piece of metal between the tpu and polycarbonate cover. Keeps the metal piece in place and from scratching the back of the phone. I have yet to drop the phone, but I feel like there is enough of a lip around the front to protect the screen there as well.
https://smile.amazon.com/TUDIA-Extreme-Protection-Rugged-Absorption/dp/B07F3YQNQT/
I have the OtterBox commuter case.other than a co-worker dropping it in the gravel and cracking the screen from a direct hit from a rock. It has survived many falls even on the screen side without any damage.
