Anyone gonna port any Sense ROMS with Gingerbread(2.3)? - Thunderbolt General

Since we now have kernel source was anyone out there planning on say porting over a Gingerbread Sense like from the Incredible S or any other HTC phone with 2.3 and sense?

Can I upgrade the new myTouch v1.2 with HTC Sense?

I am a huge fan of the HTC Sense UI for the Hero and I would like to have it on the myTouch. I'm looking forward to buying one soon, but I don't want to risk rooting a brand new phone. So i was wondering if the Rogers upgrade for their HTC Magic+ can be used to add Sense UI to the new myTouch.
Yes, if you make it.
make what?

Not currently. The new MyTouch doesn't really have a wide selection of ROMS at the moment. (read none...)
Once you get root, you can install the stock Fender ROM with root access or a port of an eclair ROM (st0kes_eclair.) I personally haven't used the eclair ROM as I have heard it currently has some issues.
Best bet at this point is just to wait for HTC to release the kernel so more developers can start making us some custom ROMs.

thanks vantix. but im not really looking for a custom ROM. i just want to know if the HTC Magic+ update will work on for the myTouch 1.2. You can find that update here: htc.com/ca/support/magic-rogers/downloads/
I'm sorry but it won't. Your hardware is very close, but not exactly the same as the Magic (your touchscreen differs, and you ave the 3,5 mm jack). Don't flash this, as most probably it will break your phone.
aww sad day. thanks movikun
Oooh man you don't wanna flash that htc magic+ from rogers. Trust me hahaaha. The people on rogers (such as myself) were forced to flash that (thank god I didnt) and yeah it could possibly braek your phone as well.
You currently can't even flash a custom rom over to MyTouch LE because of the drivers issues. You won't have touchscreen, etc. This is being worked on... sorta.
Since the Fender/LE is Google then you will not see HTC SenseUI on it.
To get SenseUI on your MyTouch v1.2 you will have to do some work.
Get the source from HTC and use the LE Kernel (with drivers)
Port it to a SenseUI rom OR SenseUI source.
Probably won't be worth the trouble.

Can anyone get a ROM Dump?

I was just wondering since Gingerbread and sense are included on the Desire S and this has been quite a desireable combo for some time now but not possible for unofficial devs... since it's already been at MWC is there anyone who currently has one that we might be able to get a ROM dump from as was done before the Desire HD came out? If anyone has one or can get hold of one to dump the ROM please let us know so devs on here may guide you at dumping the ROM so they can begin porting the ROM to our current WVGA devices...
+1
Waiting for the Gingerbread Sense ROM.
The htc S device line has 2.2.1 not 2.3...its does have a new sense version which is 2.1, lots of people have been confused by this already...

That's wrong. On MWC it was 2.3.2 on the desire s. You can see it on some of the hands-on videos. The Incredible will come earlier than the others with 2.2 but desire s will have gingerbread.
Can't wait to get a desire s port running smoothly on the hd2!

I just bought a HTC Desire S and it is running Android 2.3.3 with Sense 2.1.
Is Orange ROM any better? I see a lot of people talking about loading Orange ROM.

Will Desire S to have custom ICS with sense 4.0 ROM?

I came across this site. http://www.engadget.com/2012/02/02/htc-sensation-puts-on-a-white-ice-coat-to-match-its-ice-cream-sa/
and it seems like the sensation will have an OTA update to ICS with sense 4.0. So, does that means that we will have a custom ROM base on that ROM? That will be awesome. Discuss.
UPDATE: ok, now I have a few questions for the developer. Since there are already so many ROMs on ICS with sense 3.6, but why there are non for our desire s ? Take a look at this ROM http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1419278... there are more at sensation forum. Is it because of the drivers or hardware related? I'm not quite familiar with all these developing stuffs, so maybe the experts out there would enlighten to me? Thanks.
Firstly I am no developer but I think I can say some things about what you said. Yes it is hardware related like all linux based OS android has a kernel and the kernel is mostly written for a device specific hardware. And sensation and saga in that respect is no match so no part of it could be used in ours. And also there might be a need of lot kernel tweaks and for that rom to work. The derivative of sensation , sensation xl in retrospect is whole lot similar to our device so if a leaked rom is released for that one then I am sure devs will be able to do the things you wished. On top of kernel device specific hardware driver and all that the sense version as always by htc is a very special one as i understand cause its a whole lot different than any other rom. Looking through posts you might have seen sense kernels and aosp ones are different. So in the end to port that rom it will need a kernel drivers and all plus the effort to crack the sense overlay that htc slaps on anything too...
It might be not possible my heart strongly wishes for an ICS official rom as that would ease up a lot of things.
The HTC Desire S has a different screen, so the one leaked sense 3.6 (4.0) could only be ported to devices sporting the same screen. Be patient, HTC anounced that the Desire S will get ICS with Sense l8er in 2012. I'm sure the XDAdevs will be faster though....

[Q] Help with HTC Amaze 4G ICS Stock ROM

Why hello XDA folks. My name is Kyralik, and I have a VERY SIMPLE QUESTION that nobody seems to want to help me with. I'm going to save the sob story for another day.
I have a T-Mobile HTC Amaze 4G which I have unlocked using the Amaze All In One Kit by Hasoon2000: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1493905
I am looking to replace my Stock T-Mobile Sense ROM with the VANILLA Ice Cream Sandwich ROM, a completely clean un-modified ICS 4.0.x ROM. My Amaze is currently running ICS 4.0.3 with Sense 3.6; again, the main purpose of this is to REMOVE SENSE UI, because I dislike it, and I'm a fan of the minimalism in ICS stock.
To recap, I have an HTC Amaze 4G, unlocked but not yet rooted, with ICS 4.0.3 and Sense 3.6. I would like to replace this ROM with a clean ICS 4.0.whatever. I have a Mac and a PC, access to USB, internet, all the standard stuff.
IF YOU CAN HELP ME ACCOMPLISH MY TASK, OR EVEN COME CLOSE, I WILL TRY TO HELP YOU AS BEST AS I CAN WITH ANY OF YOUR XDA-RELATED ISSUES.

[Q] Upgrading from Eclair

I have here my friend's HTC Desire S. It's still running 2.1 (Eclair). I was wondering where I should start with flashing on this phone. I already have CM9 on my SGS2, but I understand the HTC recovery, among other things work differently. Any advise?
Prasad.
Are you sure it's desire S?
Desire S launched with gingerbread.
Android 2.3 and sense 2.1
Tapatalked from a Desire S waiting for Kernel 3 sources. WAKE UP HTC!!!!!!
It's most probably the regular Desire.
