specifically, I want to know if it'd be possible to put android on the 'lg rumor touch' (for virgin mobile). i don't know what interface LG is running or if it even has the hardware capable to run it but am curious if it's possible to load android on these mid-range devices that are not really smart phones?

Hi!
I know there are many people thinking the same than me. I have a TouchWiz based phone (Samsung GT-S5600 Preston). It looks nice, has some nice features but you can't get any of those great applications that are available for Android, WM or even iPhone - like a car navigation software etc.
So is there a way to replace TouchWiz and install Android on it?
I mean Samsung has already one Android phone (I7500), I can't imagine that the hardware components are so much different to the S5600/Preston or other newer Samsung phones.
Has anyone experience with this?
Thanks
Hi, we have the same problem.. hope that some one will port the android to preston 5600..
I'm assuming you want the Android interface and not Android OS itself (which isn't availlable and most doubtfully will ever be available for your phones). But even that isn't possible (at least that I know of)... While there are today plugins with those features for WinMo your're stuck on a Symbian phone...
it is not a symbian phone, and the specs are, in my opinion, enough for the phone to support an alternative OS (not just an interface) such as android donut or probably WinMo 6.1.
By the way, I was in the same situation looking for another OS for this phone
ok ever herd of the pinphone? well it uses a mtk 400mhz processor and a mtk os iphone 3gs style case (even the same touch screen) its gsm based and well we know theres phones out there with mtk processors that run android 2.1 so the question is who wants to put android on it? anytakers or am i gunna have to go at it alone (and dont say ohh its impossible thats not what im asking)

I also have this phone and think it would be cool to install android. No programming skills. but willing to help.
I was wondering if there was anyone out there able to run superchips vivid paq on an Android smartphone. I would think its possible considering the device superchips uses is an archos device and most high end phones would be more than capable to run this software.
interested as well! any news?
Just saw it on tv, wow.
Hi, my bro got LG T500 and I'm wondering if it's possible to install android os on it, T500 has a same screen like Me P350, 2.8 inch
probably not. feature phones rarely have enough power to even support the most stripped down smartphone OS
Hi, I'm not sure if this is the correct place to ask this but I have a smartphone i wanted to upgrade.
Alcatel A502DL which has Android 8.1 which is like horrendously basic. Was wondering the best process to upgrade. If I got to root it thats fine. I know a bit about computer software, but know very little with actual code programming other than basic copy/paste.
It's a phone I mostly would like to have on Wifi and if I can also get it unlocked (cant unlock from the service provider due to it needing to be on their service for x amount of time) to run it off of a Mint Mobile plan as well.
Looking for the best Android OS, if it can handle Android 11 or if 12 is out that would be great. The phone can be used for testing the new OS. Also got a Samsung Galaxy J3 Achieve that needs unlocked as well (same situation as the Alcatel phone) because I wanted to use that on Mint Mobile as well.
