Google just released another update to Froyo Gmail app today. Is there anyway to get this updated Gmail ported to Eclair?
Probably not. I haven't tried. Has anyone else tried?
Yea I guess it's not possible.

Hi
Here comes another good working launcher for Infuse "360 Launcher" XDA Version to support English etc.
V2.2.1 is working smoothly on Infuse. It also have plenty of themes, customizations etc.
Check it out :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1345601
This launcher is also available in the Google Play store, (but i recommend the XDA version).
Edit- v2.3 dated April 28 has been released.
Nice i used this for awhile, little ways back, looks updated....thx:thumbup:
Tried this launcher several times and its not bad. It just doesn't have the smooth scrolling like what launcher pro has. Im currently using QQ Launcher.... give it a shot...you might like it better.

This is just a friendly warning...DO NOT update Apex Launcher right now the update is broken. Just trying to save some minor headaches since I had the other launchers frozen, it has sent me into a bit of a run around to get back to commission.
Again, wait till they fix it then update, DO NOT touch this update!!!
Fixed now
That was very annoying, had to use play store on my phone to install nova so I could use the phone

Yeah is was pretty annoying, I had to use Play Store to open ROM Toolbox to defrost Holo HD (which was included with the ROM I'm using but I froze it) reboot then choose Holo HD and use that until the fix was pushed out. Just in case, I installed Apex Beta in /system/app, that way if another update causes FC's like that, I can just uninstall the update.
It's still the best Launcher in my book.
I agree it is the best... Fluid movement and not a ram monster

I know Facebook home comes out on April 12th but with no support for gingerbread devices I was wondering if there are any other launchers out there I have already checked out quick launch as well as SO.HO Launcher but it doesn't support gingerbread so does anyone have any suggestions

At best, a widget. Other than that, I don't know of any social launchers.

Exactly!
Facebook launcher is unique in a way that it's only made to improve Facebook experience. Launchers are used to customize home screens.
You have to wait till the 12th for the release then wait a couple of weeks before someone can mod it for GB or someone rips it off and makes an app.
But be warned, Facebook launcher is being criticized for its privacy issues. You rather have zuckerberg look through your stuff then some third party regularberg guy.

So this version just receives updates faster?
I got mine through Google Play that should count lol!

I'm actually contemplating between either that or the nexus 5.... but since it's so cheap, I just might get both.

1. Is there any other difference too between a normal Moto G & the GPE one?
2. Can someone please confirm me the total amount of the 16GB GPE edition? (with taxes, shipping, etc.)
I live outside US and have requested a friend of mine (in Atlanta) to buy it for me, so need to know the exact amount!
The ones on the Official site & Amazon are $216 & $217 respectively.

The GPE would more than likely have some motorola apps removed and possibly a bootloader that doesn't have to be unlocked by requesting a key from Motorola
If it came out 2 weeks earlier, I would have purchased GP edition for sure.
But unfortunately (or rather not) got US GSM version from Motorola.
Just bought one and its on its way. Question, does the GPE have the transparant bar on the lockscreen / homescreen like the Moto version? Or is it black like the rest of the GPE devices? The homescreen doesnt concerne me since I plan to use the Google Experience launcher but that black bar on the lockscreen.... yuck :/

It will not be transparent unless you use a 3rd party launcher like Nova Launcher. The launcher3 that GPE devices use don't use transparency.

Launcher3 does indeed use transparency, however GPe devices use Launcher2
....
Nonononononono. Lockcreen will be transparent. Stock feature of systemui.apk. homescreen will have bars without a launcher that supports transparency

some of the replies doesn't have a clue what you are asking since they haven't used a Nexus 5. I don't know for sure since I don't have a Moto G Google edition. I think if it doesn't come with a Google launcher like the Nexus 5 it's safe to assume the lockscreen will also have a black bar. Though the point of Google edition is you can unlock the bootloader and easy install custom roms so if stock don't have it you can flash a framework mod with transparent lockscreen. If you aren't planning to root then I don't think it's necessary to get the Google play edition imo.

You don't need to root to get a transparency in the launcher. You just need a launcher that supports transparency like Nova Launcher. Also, the lock screen should have a transparent status bars by default.
Are you rooted? Do YOU want stock launcher with transparency, and stock wallpapers? Own a GPe? Replace the file in system/priv-app with this https://www.dropbox.com/s/xco9j32o19eidqx/launcher2.apk made this for Nexus 4 but I figured it'll work on anything

Or just use the Launcher2 from Moto's 4.4 update which has transparency.
Ill have to see when it arrives, my question is because when my nexus 4 got kitkat update, the laucher had black bars as well as lockscreen which was expected, I changed to Google Launcher and the homescreen was transparent as promised but It did not affect lockscreen when it came to that and I wondered if it was the same thing here.
Ill find out Monday thanks all who helped

4.4.1 introduced transparent lock screen to all devices

One thing that bothers me is that in the GPE it is written that FM radio not included.
Is this SW related or is this missing in the HW.
If it's hardware the this is a different version and Rom.
If it's software then how can this work. Loading a clean rom from the Europe versions?
Can somebody test this?
