[Q] changing pico tts on genius button? - myTouch 4G General

Hi guys, I am running cm7 nightly build #30 with trueblue_drew's genius button mod, I have installed victoria UK english tts and svox classic engine and set is as default, so even google maps works with her voice (it's really sexy ) but thing is genius button is still on pico tts and pico tts is by far the most annoying speech synthesis voice EVER. (Never used the genius button when I was in stock rom because of this reason). Is there anyway to over ride the pico tts settings for the genius button?
(btw I tried removing picotts.apk from system using root explorer, my settings voice input and output settings would crash I had to reflash the rom)

Ice Cream Sandwich Bluetooth Keyboard Shortcuts

Does anyone know where to find out all the shortcuts you can do with an external keyboard on Android 4.0? Things like the back button, home screen, etc. Thank.
Thread Necromancy, I know, but this is a serious question that remains unanswered. Here's the most info I've found:
Rootzwiki User Gr8gorilla posted a list of shortcuts that work with his Targus Bluetooth Keyboard (I'm editing the list for formatting, and adding more as I find them.)
ESC: Back (woo!)
Targus FN + F* keys: (edit: These only work with the specific model of Targus keyboard. Your FN key may only perform functions as labelled, test it to verify)
FN+F1: Search
FN+F8: play/pause music
FN+F7: Skip Prev
FN+F9: Skip Next
FN+F11: Volume -
FN+F12: Volume +
FN+ESC: Wallpaper, manage apps, system settings.
Alt+Tab - recent apps, task switcher (WOO!)
CTRL + Alpha keys:
Ctrl+A: Market (edit: this opens the "add to home screen" menu for me)
Ctrl+P: Settings
Ctrl+W: Wallpaper
Ctrl+M: Apps
In Browser: (edit: these work in other apps too, if they apply)
Ctrl+B: Bookmarks
Ctrl+A: Select all
Ctrl+C: Copy
Ctrl+V: Paste
Ctrl+W: Close current tab
Ctrl+T: Open new tab
Command/Windows button + : (edit: these commands work from anywhere, even in other apps)
Win+E: Launch Default Email App (brings up a choice dialog if necessary)
Win+A: Launch Calculator.apk
Win+S: Launch Messaging.apk (SMS App)
Win+C: Launch Contacts
Win+B: Launch Browser.apk (not your default browser, unfortunately)
Win+P: Launch Music.apk (not your default music player, unfortunately)
Win+L: Launch Calendar
Win+M: Launch Google Maps
From my own experience: the above work, other than the Targus-specific ones. I've tested them all. I'm looking for more, especially ways to activate "HOME", "MENU" and to open/close the notification drawer.
Also, you can edit your /system/usr/keylayout/qwerty.kl to change which key codes sent by the bluetooth keyboard activate various functions. This would be a rather involved hack, and may be specific to your hardware. Doing it wrong could compromise your ability to use your software keyboard. Also, it would be replaced whenever you flash a ROM, and possibly some smaller updates as well. Here's a guide to hacking keyboard layouts, though it's a bit old, and I haven't tested it. DO AT YOUR OWN RISK, but post your results either way!
I'm looking for a way to enable the Android SDK Emulator Shortcut Keys on real devices. It would give us that which we're missing.
Ctrl+W and Ctrl+T
In the stock browser:
Ctrl+W - closes the current tab
Ctrl+T - opens a new tab
There may be more of these that are similar to chrome shortcuts but those are the only two I really use.

Tested to verify. Works in Chrome as well. Added to the list above!
Thanks for coming up with that list. Really appreciate it.
I'd just like to clarify something: using an app called KeyEvent Display, free on Google Play, you can verify that Android is actually receiving keystrokes from your keyboard. I've tested every key on my keyboard, and found that they correspond exactly with /system/usr/keylayout/Generic.kl (fn key excluded, because that's handled by the keyboard itself, not passed to the OS).
I think the Android Framework doesn't know what to do with:
F-Keys
Mute
wow nice one.

[Q] Google Maps: No other TTS engine possible

I have a problem together with Google Maps 7.1.0 navigation (on a Nexus 4 with Android 4.3) . It doesn't use SVOX TTS but every other application does. I have set SVOX Classics as the default engine in the system settings and it has the same language installed as I have set for the phone language.
How can I fix that?
Thanks in advance.
same problem
Same problem...4.3 android with svox and same language as svox in settings.

Few questions about your rom
thanks alot for your work.
I'm thinking about buying the s750. does your rom (or the device) support usb-otg and did you manage to include call recording-audio-libs? maybe call recording libs are already included (lenovo = chinese company, call recording = legal in china).

Yep, I have tried to turn off Wifi Optimalization in the settings and wifi sleep.
We will see if I see any difference.
But you can't imagine how happy I am that you ported this rom for Lenovo phone.
This phone doesn't interest people or developers but it is a great one!

My settings for wifi are:
- Network notification: disabled

- Wi-Fi optimization: enabled
Have you tried with a different wifi connection, just to check if the problem is from the other side?

Of course, that function disables the wifi connection everytime the phone goes in sleep mode, unless it is in charging.

Nono don't get me wrong I am not so big BFU when I power on screen and enable wifi , it's connecting automatically but after 3 seconds it disconnects itself and after this action I can't connect to AP anymore and I have to reboot phone.
But when I don't use this wifi option connection is just fine.

Works for me without any problem.
Try how to from first topic.
Although I do not own a Lenovo S750 and still using my old Defy, which is in its last days, it's great to know that there is a phone that has the potential to be the backup and particularly that someone is developing a rom for it. Thank you!
Just one question which I just asked in the S750 thread on the Defy forum: does this Lenovo S750 come with nolification LED light? If yes, it has completely surpassed Defy so that I will have no regret to switch to it in the future.
Yes, it does and it's working very well, notification diod is blinking in this rom just fine
Hello andrea_d86, can I use your rom to do a port to Lenovo A820?

Remap physical keyboard?

Hey folks
Im using a Sprint Photon Q which I recently updated to Cyanogenmod 12.1-20151007 snapshot (-https://download.cyanogenmod.org/get/jenkins/129287/cm-12.1-20151007-SNAPSHOT-YOG4PAO339-xt897.zip and Open Gapps 5.1 Pico.
Im looking for a way to remap 3 keys on the physical keyboard, as I speak and write a language which use 3 non-English letters. On the stock ROM that feature was activated when I choose my language-setting during setup, however the feature is not activated in this Cyanogen. Is there an app out there for that purpiose?
Go to:
Settings -> Language and Input (down at System) -> keypad_8960 (down at Physical keyboard)
The rest should be self explaining.

Google Now Launcher & OK Google

Hi all,
Sorry for my English, im french.
My hardware & software:
- Samsung galaxy ace 3 LTE (s7275r)
- Android 4.2.2
- Root
- Xposed Framework
- Greenify
- french language
- Google now launcher (last version of Google play)
I have a problem with my phone, the "ok Google" voice command don't run a search if i don't tap microphone icon.
If i tape the microphone icon and i say "météo paris" (translate: weather paris) its work on home screen or another.
If a say "ok Google" and "météo paris" (translate: weather paris), my phone type "météo paris" but no search on home screen or another.
Have you an idea ?
Thanks a lot.
