The APK was downloaded from the GO Dev teams server today. This software is beta, it's the most recent version of GoSMS.

thanks must try it

Yep I've been using it since they released it. Seems to have some enhancements with speed and the pop-up behavior.

It looks great, thank to the GO dev team.
I'm gonna try this right now.

Point 4 is how to manually join the pre-release trial and get update notifications.
"4. How to Join our pre-release trial? Run GO SMS—>Menu—>Help us—>Join our pre-release trial. And then kill the task, reopen GO SMS, you will get our trial notice."
Point 5 is of interest:
"5. This version is GOSMS EX beta, can only be tried for 6 days, after that, you need to update to newer beta version(if any) or uninstall this beta version and install the formal one, please be noticed."
I imagine that they'll either keep it up-to-date weekly, or just push the changes to the non-beta app.

[APP] android-smspopup

Firs off, I am NOT affiliated with this project at all - It is something I ran across, have been using it and thought I would share:
Project Name: android-smspopup
URL: http://code.google.com/p/android-smspopup/
Description:
An Android application that intercepts incoming text messages and displays them in a popup window (activity). The popup window shows the contact the message came from and their contact photo (if there is one) as well as the content of the message. Directly from the popup the user is given the option to Close the popup (marking the message read) or Reply to the message (using a system intent).
The more recent versions of SMS Popup also have a full notifications system built in - this allows a user to disable the built in messaging app notifications and use those from SMS Popup. The notifications system has additional options such as custom vibrate pattern, custom LED color and the ability to remind the user of a missed message in case they missed the notification the first time it played.
Review:
Even though it is in development stages, it is a pretty solid product.
- I love the fact that right from the pop-up notification, I can mark it read (hitting close) without going into the message and having to open yet another app.
- Pop-up shows the contact picture (if there is one) and I can tell at a glance who it is before I even read it.
- Being able to set up repeat reminders when missing messages is fantastic! Sometimes I step away and miss a text, so when I get back, at whatever interval I set it too, it re-notifies me of a message and I get the texts... Awesome!
- Here's one of my favorite ones... Custom Notification settings for contacts!! have a custom tone for my wife's text messages so I know it's her texting me. I also have one set up for other family members... Sky's the limit!
There's more and there is more coming up, so it's worth a shot.
Here is the QRC to download:

Sounds like the same thing as SMS Popup that's on the market. Which still isn't as good as Chompsms or Handcent
It looks EXACTLY like SMS popup???
im pretty sure it is smspopup the changelog goes back to dec-2008 which is around when i found smspopup on my g1. it is a good app though i had to stop using it due to the texting while driving laws in my area im afraid the popup would count as reading the text, especially since it marks the text as read, which is just as illegal as writing one while driving.

nice app to add to your portfolio. i've downloaded it and giving it a try. i like the ignore apps feature with MRU, keeps my handy apps even handier. i might just have to get rid of my folders now, i'll be sure to leave an appropriate rating in about a week.
just for my sake, LRU is only based on last use; MRU is based on the number of uses; and Pro gets an additional ordering based on total time used. is this correct?
edit: sorry, missed the link to your blog, which covers that question clearly.. thanks
HI Muzikant,

[Q] Twitter notification tone

Is any one else having problems picking a notification tone with Twitter? Every time I pick one it just goes back to default. Thank you for any help.
Yes I posted the same problems.. and now I'm getting no notifications
Download fenix instead or the new twitter from www.apkmirror.com

the latest APK does the same - reverts back to the default. One option my wife thought of was to change the default to silent and then change the notifications in the other apps.
There are many other apps but none will push the notifications outside of the app for the tweets of people you request because of the Twitter API.

I have the same problem. The button to save the notification sound setting is missing (and exiting the page doesn't automatically save the change).
any resolution on this subject?
No there's been a few updates but no fix for this on the s6. I reported it to twitter but I suppose it's not a very big issue really
Still not seeing any resolution on the latest build 5.69.0
Same issue on the note 5
Here we are 6 months down the line and they still haven't fixed it.
Set "default notification sound" in phone settings to the one you want for Twitter then change notification for messages to the one you want for SMS msgs.
Sent from my SM-G920F
The problem is there is no OK button on the notification sound dialog box on the GS6/Note 5.
My wife has a Note 4 and the same Twitter app version has an OK button which successfully changes the tone.
My Note 5 doesn't have an OK buton. Backing out is the same as the cancel button.

Note 4:
Same problem on the Samsung S7. This is really annoying. Please somebody fix this problem
Agreed. Seems like both a minor issue, and because it has lingered for so long, a very annoying one.
Even the Default/Messages setting workaround upthread is a no go for me, because there are apps (i.e. my local news app that send breaking news alerts) that give the Twitter sound with that setup.
Seems this should have been fixed a long time ago.

Download es file Explorer. Remove the app defaults for twitter/media storage. Open twitter and go to notifications. When it pops up the app to use choose es file Explorer and browse to ur customer notification. Works for me on s7

[App][4.1+]Notification History Log-View Old Notifications You Dismissed Accidentally

Hello everyone.
I released an App last week named "Notification History Log". With this app, you can view all your old notifications that you have dismissed accidentally. I'm receiving a good response for the app from the last couple of days and it also got featured on Android Police and Life Hacker.
Now, I'm planning to add more features to the app and I need your suggestions.
You can download the app from Play store here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ikvaesolutions.notificationhistorylog&hl=en
Note: This app is NOT about just opening Android's default notification log. It has more to do.

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Current features of the app
These are the features currently included in the app:
Advanced History: It uses "Notification Access" permission and stores all receiving notifications locally and they are used to show the old notifications.
Normal History: If the device supports Android's default notification log, it opens it else it asks to open Advanced History.
Notification Log Size: User can select the size of notification log to be stored.
Blacklist Applications: User can blacklist the apps they want to include in the notification log.
Swipe to delete: This enables users to delete individual notification if needed.
Clear All Notifications: This will permanently delete all stored notifications.
Search Notifications: You can search for any notification in Advanced History.
Open Advanced History by Default: Instead of opening home screen, it will open Advanced History everytime you open the application.
Hide Default Notification Log: This will hide the button that opens Android's default notification log.
Can you guys try the app and let me know if you find any bugs.
Suggestions are accepted with both hands.
You can read the complete release notes here of Notification History Log on my blog

Hit me if i’m going wrong, but at my opinion this apk does a little less or exactly the same things like this app -> https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.evanhe.nh do ! Why to hell do you spend a lot of your time, to develop the wheel again???
If i am wrong, i will delete this post immediately, promised!

Hi,
I don't think it is wrong to redevelop something with more features and far better UI.
The total downloads of the old app are 1000-5000 and my app already reached 120K+ downloads.
WhatsApp is already developed, but still, there are similar apps like Hike, WeChat Same applies here :fingers-crossed:
ok, thx 4 your statement.
(because your app is not able to record USSD messages, it is not interesting for me.)
btw: most of the comments on play store will have only one star. So, there seems to be a lot to do..
Anyway, i wish you "good luck" for the future of your development! I’m out now...
4.1 stars average, but hey, who's counting?
