Hello good people of xda.
i have a question i‘ve been thinking about for a year now..
Is there an app-framework for android where i can put a folder with html files and/or an url
in, then set an icon, and it will make an webkit-type-of app?
I know there are alot of mobile frameworks, but i hate the fact that the url bar shows and that
the menu pops up. it makes it feel less appish...
if this don‘t exists, i got tons of sketches if anyone wants to help me

Hi there,
If you've all seen a standard Samsung phone, you'll have noticed that you can put a security code/PIN number on your items (Photos, messages etc..).
I was wondering if there was any application or feature out there that means I could impose one of these onto my WM6.1 Polaris? Everyone looks at my phone and every can read all my messages! When I go to look at their inferior phones... They have codes!
Any help is appreciated.
Bumped. Any ideas?
No-one? I'd really like to find an answer.
I remember a new program posted not long ago, that should do what you are looking for. It was posted in Development and Hacking and I think the name was just 'lock'. You then have to make all your links to your messages into links to this lock program, which will ask for a code and then redirect you to your messages. It will still be possible to launch tmail.exe in the Windows directory directly (but I don't think a lot of people will have any clue on how to do this anyway).

hope that helps
Hey guys, just getting into theming and got.a few questions. I've been around the block more than a few times with skining, designing and all. Use to own and run a rather large sized graphics forum and skined god knows how many skins for ipb and vb boards. So I thought to myself that theming my phone should not be any different, just minus the html and css.
Now for my questions
filename.9.png, I take it that these images are ones that are tiled, correct? And is the ".9.png" is something that the system sees and says, "ok this needs to tile this way" or is it an actual file extension? If so how does one handle them in photoshop?
Thanks in advanced

Hey guys,
I'm really new to this app development and would like to ask one of you experienced developers a question.
Basically I have recently been creating mobile websites from a set of css files which are just a basic template. The template files have individual files for some of the most common pages that a small business would need, google map, contact us with form, menu, opening hours and so on.
What happens is you simply upload the company logo and such into the images folder, update the css style sheet for colours, then simply edit one of the relevant pages e.g place the food items in the menu page.
When the whole set of files gets uploaded it creates a personalised functional business mobile website.
What I would like to know is, would it be possible to set something like this up for an android app? Whereby the user could simply change the details as above and then compile the apk file which will create the app?
Your input is much appreciated, also have any of you got any idea where I could get someone to code something like this?
Regards,
Stephen
Hello all, long time lurker here.
I was wondering if there is any mod or app out there that lets me completely customize the Share Via menu. It's a totally handy feature other than the fact that a lot of the apps I want to use don't show up in that menu.
I've researched it and I've come to find out that; which apps show up in the share via menu are hard coded into each individual app, and in order for them to show up you would need to contact the developer to get him/her to add that feature.
Now, I'm wondering has anyone done anything to address this issue? I'm no programmer or anything, but I imagine it wouldn't be that difficult to be able to modify that menu extensively. There's and app out there call AndMade Share( https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.andmadesoft.share ) that allows you to be able to edit the menu somewhat, but it doesn't allow you to add apps. I'm thinking one could possibly just completely edit the share via file, and allow a user to be able to decide which apps open in the 'Share Via' menu according to file extension.
For example, if I wanted to Share a .jpg, I could customize the Share Via menu to include, Instagram, Gallery, Picshop, Photoshop Express, Photogrid, etc. Or if I wanted to open a .MP4 I could customize the share menu to include, Video Manager, Video Trimmer, Video Player, Rock Player, etc.
I feel as though I've over explained this, but whatever. Is there anything out there like this that exsists or am I just stuck hoping and wishing?

Ok so I made a thread in the Android development and hacking Q&A, help and troubleshooting section but couldn't get a response. So I came back home to my g2x family to see if any of the developer-minded people can help me out. Basically all I am trying to do is theme (change the background) an application that I downloaded from the market. I decompiled, swapped png's, recompiled, signed, and pushed it to my phone. This application requires connection to an online server in order to function. My new background shows up when the application opens into the loading/connecting screen but as soon as it goes into the main UI, after it connecting to the server, it goes back to the original background. Is there anyway I can make my image changes "stick" AFTER it loads onto the server?

Thanks!
I think from what i've read in the blacked out app threads if the app has web content those parts can't be themed since they aren't in the app itself. That's my noobish 2 cents.
That is the answer I was expecting =(. Twitch, you're anything but a newb get outta here man lol. I"M a newb!
