I've just moved from VEGAn 5.1.1 to TnT Lite 4.3
Quadrant scores didn't change, but overall the mod feels more responsive.
Video playback improved a lot. Now I can watch x264 movies without converting them from *.mkv with hardware acceleration, which didn't work fast enough on VEGAn.
There is one issue:
- I was getting FC before I formated data partition, but after that Home button doesn't work. I remember I had the same issue on GingerVEGAn and solved it somehow... Any hint?
Thanks roebeet for the excellent mod! Kudos to gojimi, I used VEGAn for over a month.

I had that exact same problem during testing - I thought it was my imagination because I reflashed and it went away. So I thought it was a one-off.

Did you clear userdata next time? It appeared after I erased userdata. What do you suggest?
Update: I cleaned up data/cache, re-installed TNT Lite 4.3, still hardware Home doesn't work. Usually it means that SetupWizard wasn't ran, which is true in my case. Is it supposed to run?

No, I pulled it out in this release (it doesn't even pop up). I will do some more tests today. I remember re-flashing (not re-wiping) and it went away, but let me do some more tests.
TwoTapsX does not have the issue, but maybe there's something in that init.rc that I need (the system image between the two is the same). If it's the init.rc, I might have to make a 4.4.0 to fix it, just keep that in mind. I'll figure it out , and apologies.

is it just the hardware home button that doesnt work? or does the one built into the software not work as well?
I found root cause
Updated on the TNT Lite thread, as well - I'll have a supplement up this evening. It was actually the SetupWizard.apk, believe it or not. I wasn't looking there at first as it made no sense why it would cause a problem (it's for Gapps), but sure enough it's needed.
Issues with TNT 4.3
I can't get the GTAB to wake from sleep since I went to 4.3 and when I installed 4.3.1. If the GTAB is left sleeping then I have to reboot it or when I put it to sleep with the power button. Is anyone else having this issue. Did something change so if it is sleep for a while you can't wake it up? Also my battery is draining because the android system is running at 78%, has anyone else noticed that?

It could be the mix of 3588 kernel and 3991 system (not playing nice?). This was what I was going to release before I went to TNT Lite 5, and that did not go over well.
Battery drain should be the same, but long-term tests were not that extensive.

Would you suggest a nvflash, update to 3991 then going to 4.3?

That's a bit of a roundabout way, and a bit risky with 3991. If you want the "cleanest" setup possible, then I would do this:
1) nvflash to 1105 bekit.
2) update to 3588 stock, either via an OTA update or a manual install
3) Wipe the user data
4) Then install your mod of choice.
Optionally, install clockworkworkmod and do an SD re-partition (and then remove it). I've had to do this a few times to clean up some issues, but then again I flash my system a LOT so my setup is different than most.

I don't have wake hang up issues so far. I installed custom kernel (ClemsynFroyoVer6.zip) right after I flashed 4.3.1 supplementary and cleaned up data again. The kernel supposedly fixes this kind of problems.

4.3.1 fixed the Home button issue, so now I'm pretty happy with the result.

I didn't do that it works fine for me. I came directly from VEGAn 5.1.1.
Custom keyboards is tricky with the TNT Lite, but possible. Lock screen with pattern also a little bit tricky.
I use Titanium Backup to keep my apps during wipes, so I can go easily between different mods, I just restore only missing apps + data and don't touch system.

Not sure if anyone has had this problem but I'm seeing some really odd issues, sometimes the screen starts moving really quick almost like flickering but from left to right as if I'm holding finger on the screen and moving it extremely fast. Sometimes it seems like touch screen doesn't work until I hit power and menu right after, also randomly core apps would crash.
I'm on jf1.42 rc33.
are you using any themes? I've encountered similar problems, but only after flashing multiple themes without wiping. i've never had any problems after a fresh wipe and reflash of JF 1.1*.

i'm having similar problems but wasn't sure if something i did screwed it up, i was getting random core apps crashing on 1.41 RC33 and to test a script i wrote and an app made by another i completely wiped every thing to where the phone wouldn't start at all, i achieved this with adb shell wipe all
i wouldn't suggest doing that unless you have an update.zip waiting to be flashed to your phone, i put the phone back to warrenty standards and then started EVERYTHING all over so i could test the things i wanted to. when i finished testing i rooted and put 1.42 on and it seemed a little better all day until it popped up and phone process, settings, and core all three crashed at the same time about 30 minutes ago. my flash was 100% clean as there was nothing on the phone at all including OS, i completely wiped the system partition and data and refused to flash my nandroid back up since i didn't want the same problems. i hope someone else knows what's going on and we can fix this
I went from stock rc 30, rooted, JF RC 30, Themes (many), RC 33,JF ADP 1.1, then back to RC 33.
I had an issue of contacts not syncing, and the import contacts from sim caused a core force close.
So i did a freash install of JF 1.43 RC33 and it worked again. No screen problems but I did have a few core apps force closing. It hasnt happened since my last install of RC 33. Im running a modified theme now, my own with very little changes.

No themes, if I do a wipe, what happens with paid apps that I have installed does anyone know?
Looks like it was the related to multi touch, after doing another wipe and installing a build with out multi touch the problem went away no more rapid screen movement and apps are not crashing
EVOLUTIONX2
UPDATE-EVOX2
Alright this is just an updated X. i had alot of ideas in mind but i cant get them to function properly. Just as many updates in the V series were small, they led to bigger things. with source and everything this week it has been hard to stay focused on one rom. X3 will be a completely new beast. so for now pick V or X series. they work the same
END----------------------------------------------
EVOlutionX-This is a DroidX themed Froyo. its as reliable as V8 but now it has alot of motorola elements. i started Seem editing moto razrs so im going back to the beggining .
i recommend wiping everything then Flashing. IF you have V8 or Hero_overs rom, you might not HAVE to wipe because its froyo over froyo but if you experience problems, wipe then flash
This is a very visual rom. i love it so far. If you dont like it just restore your V8 or w/e. This is a new series of froyo roms so i will continue updating this with the V series.

EVOLUTION V9
Alright EVOV9 is based on FRF85B and has the Evo update applied. it fixed alot of little problems. Much more stable and smooth. This is considered very beta as the new updates kill alot of things, it was hard to get it right. 35+ test roms actually. I will be updating as problems are found. but the only things that are not fixed are mms, BTmono, cameras. everything else should work. I recommend a wipe coming from anything, but as always it may not be 100% needed coming from another froyo rom.
Please enjoy EVOlutionV9
EVOlutionV9
Quirk- some people may get no sim card inserted at google login. just click back and it will fix it. this is one of the issues i have fixed but i will address them at a later time.
I will be adding patches, one for MMS fix and another with a white taskbar incase you dont like the black one.
You must flash coming from any rom. Go to market and download TITANIUM BACKUP. click (problems?) and install busybox. after that push menu and select batch. BACKUP ALL USER APPS. when its done you will then have all your apps backed up. then install rom, rinse, repeat.
for people who dont want use this because of cameras, i posted this up and i guess people dont think about it. Nandroid backup your 2.1. after its done wipe everything, flash this rom, set up the 2.2 rom to your liking, titanium backup works on froyo, and nandroid backup this rom. nandroids are sorted by date so just remember the earlier one is 2.1. you can rename but people say it messes up sometimes. then use froyo when you dont need cameras, and just wipe dalvik and restore 2.1 when you do. thats what i do and i love it.

Froyo test 7-Cleaned up everything. Fixed lights and sensors. fixed market. added more BT. fixed roaming. fixed launcher lag. Overall much much faster. Haptic is still low to keep other fixes.
New changelog-

enjoy!
Recommendations- i want to include this as i know how it is just starting android rooting. when your start flashing roms, the first thing you do is look for flaws. now these little things kept me from going to roms. the biggest problem i forget is that there are apps out there that can replace the small ones.
Handcent-Ultimate msging app. i suggest you download this, go into the stock msg app and disable notifications. this will help with Voicemail issues.
Rootexplorer- you must have this. it is one amazing app
Better keyboard- the stock skin on this beats anything i have used. i recommend this app also.
Titanium backup- USE THIS AND BACKUP ALL APPS WEEKLY!!!
i will add to this as i continue. and one very very important thing, i got my htc hero in november. i didnt join XDA until january but i downloaded roms from day1. leave comments!!!! as a developer the most important thing is not how many people use your rom or how much money you make. its all about you all telling us you love our rom. theres no greater feeling than sitting down for 6 hours at a time and fixing issues and hearing thanks. so this is just something to think about thanks for the support everyone
Credits-Toast for first build!!! Without that i would be working on something else
Credits go to the the nexus forum where i got the icons
-thanks to the dev who found wireless N
-anyone i forget, i do not in any way shape or form want to take away from other developers. if i forgot you please pm me and i will include you and get you the credit you deserve.
great work, I downloading , will report back when done.
looks like fun, hopefully froyo is ported over before its official evo release
Running well.
Good work.
as stated above. please list in detail EVERY problem you find i will go threw and try to fix what can be fixed.
starting with BT. tell me what profiles do and dont work. i know a2dp doesnt but lets see about the others
thanks!
Not able to download from link.
Testing right now. I have to root with Toast. I'll report.
Nice work, getting closer to a stable froyo, will try when a get out work and report back with problems that I find.

Damn me and my impatience, tried it again and bam, it worked.
Thanks for the ROM. Here are 3 problems I am incurring:
1. Can't pair with bluetooth device.
"There was a problem pairing with LG HBM-570 because the PIN or Passkey was incorrect." The problem is, android doesn't pop up a keypad for me to type in any PIN. Then when I hit the back key, I get an error message:
"Sorry! The application Settings (process com.android.settings) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again."
2. Screen auto-rotate to landscape doesn't work at all. I tried in Messaging and the Browser. The setting Auto-rotate screen is checked under Display setting.
3. Proximity sensor doesn't work. When I'm on the phone the screen doesn't turn off automatically.
Other than that everything else seems to be running fine. The LED light goes away when I unplug, finally! I also updated the eri.xml to get rid of the roaming indicator. I will post updates as needed. Thanks

If you installed Froyo , voodoo is long gone , as Froyo overwrites kernel , files you see on your SD card are nothing more then left overs you can delete them any time you want.
I can say that compared to stock 2.1 and using stock 2.2, 2.2 has been faster for me on every level. 2.2 is not as fast as any version of cognition I have ever used so it depends on your comparison I guess.

I'm in the same boat buddy. I'm running the latest Cognition with the ext2 lagfix from SL4A and it's almost unbearably slow. I know I must have done something wrong or there is some kind of error because it's just painfully slow. Also I have a CPU monitor and for some reason my CPU is almost always above 90%. Another weird thing I noticed is that even after I kill off the extra apps with Advanced Task Killer, they seem to open back up almost immediately. For example if I kill 12 apps, and then kill again 5 minutes later, there will be at least 7 or 8 apps running again without me opening any. I'm excited to have Froyo, Flash is rad, but I'm hoping DG comes out with a new Cognition soon because I know something is wrong with my set up right now.
At first, I have restored all my apps with Titanium (apps only), and the phone was so slow as to be unusable. Without those apps, it's fast enough. Obviously, many of those aren't fully compatible with Froyo. Will have to reinstall the apps one-by-one, and see what happens with each one. PITA, but at least the things will be more stable that way.

so its the apps huh... and we all thought froyo was going to be awesome
Can't be the apps... I installed the apps one by one after flashing cognition 2.2 and it is really slow. It was painfully slow at first, but after some use it seems that the phone "got used" to froyo or something the lag isn't THAT bad.
Maybe there's a pattern between the phones that lag and the ones that don't.
For example, mine has the 3 button combo disabled and yours?
I absolutely love FROYO I previously had an iphone 3g and jumped over to the captivate with 2.1. I wasn't really impressed with android at all until this 2.2 update. I am currently running 2.2 with the one click lag fix, also I used the alter minfree settings within the one click lag fix which sets a limit on the amount of memory the phone can use at one time, I set mine to strict seems to work well. My phone is faster than its ever been and i have used all of the various roms prior to Froyo. Try getting rid of the task killer and just use the alter minfree settings within the one click app.
Battery life seems much improved as well
You are running a leaked ROM with a bunch of weird crap in it. Kallsyms shows a whole bunch of tuner functions that I'm pretty sure we don't have and some other stuff that may be garbage or a product of the newer kernel source, I'm not sure.
This is probably just a quicky test port of the I9000 ROM so I wouldn't worry about speed (or stability) yet.
Sherpa
I have a Captivate without the 3 button issues, and it's really fast on 2.2 Cog with lagfix applied. All my apps installed without issue using TiBu. I even had the JPK euro rom installed on it with our JI6 kernel, and that worked fine too, but I couldn't drop the bloatware.
And for the guys who insist on using a task killer, and are always worried about using too much ram: http://lifehacker.com/5650894/andro...ed-what-they-do-and-why-you-shouldnt-use-them

Im pretty sure that people have already said not to restore your backups from Titanium. It has been reported to cause alot of issues. At least dont restore core system components.
No speed issues with mine.
My steps:
Re-flashed to JF6 first.
Completely wiped my internal SD card
Installed COG 2.2
Ran the LagFix from SL4A
Reinstalled TiBU and apps
Reconfigured settings/sounds/etc.
Does the email app work well for everyone? For me, it is barely usable, it always hangs and seems to slow everything down. I had to remove my exchange account because just having it there made the phone constantly lock up and freeze, and now even my yahoo takes forever to simply open the inbox.
I'm running 2.2 without Cog or any lag fix and it's incredibly slow and has horrible battery life. I'm going to try to recalibrate the battery and see if that will make it more accurate. More than likely it wont change anything.
I'm just holding out for a stable/near-final Cognition 2.2. I know it has the potential to be very zippy.

Ok, got my G tablet last night open it and played with it a while to see how the stock tablet responded, and as every one has said it was one slow dog. So immediately went to work installing Clockworkmod V08, and TNT Lite V3, all went well in that regard. Fired the tablet back up and started once again to explore. Here are a few observations that I am not sure are just me or maybe I was expecting more.
Tablet still very slow to respond. How fast should it respond, and is there any kind of performance test App?
Seems like I have to press very hard for the screen to recognize a press. How hard do you have to press on the screen to get a response?
Thanks for all the help.
The screen is capacitive so you shouldnt' have to give any pressure at all, just need to touch it.
Hi,
There's a thread titled 'Touch Sensitivity' with a procedure for calibration. Maybe try that?
Jim
And the performance test, or benchmark app, normally used is "Quadrant Standard"

Tablet should not feel slow at all. Did you wipe user data after installing TNT Lite v3? You might have garbage left over from the stock build.
I've not tried TNT Lite V3, but on Vegan ROM the G Tablet is *very* fast. The only exception is all the ROMs have a kernel bug where they sometimes slowdown after wake when they've been asleep for some time, so if you see major lag, might need a reboot.
And as the others have mentioned, if your touchscreen isn't feeling sensitive and it's not dirty, then it's a calibration issue. Fix on TNT v3 is to drop an empty file called calibration.ini into the /sdcard directory and reboot (make sure you're not touching the screen when it's booting). The screen should now be calibrated and very sensitive (make sure you delete the calibration.ini file now or it will re-calibrate on every reboot, and you don't really want that).

The screen should now be calibrated and very sensitive (make sure you delete the calibration.ini file now or it will re-calibrate on every reboot, and you don't really want that).

I think that that calibration.ini needs to be in /sdcard2?

Tablet should not feel slow at all. Did you wipe user data after installing TNT Lite v3? You might have garbage left over from the stock build.
I've not tried TNT Lite V3, but on Vegan ROM the G Tablet is *very* fast. The only exception is all the ROMs have a kernel bug where they sometimes slowdown after wake when they've been asleep for some time, so if you see major lag, might need a reboot.

I did wipe user data after installing TnT Lite V3. My screen is so bad I cant even press in the area of the notification exclamation point to turn on the USB for file transfer. Is there any other way to get the USB turned on for file transfer so that I can put the calibration.ini file onto it?

I currently have the Calibration.ini on sdcard2 and does not look like it does anything on boot.
The OP stated he was using TNTLite 3.0, so it has the calibration.ini built-in.
The problem most likely stems from his partition. Did you repartition? If not, I highly recommend you do so, wipe everything, and reload the rom.

Actually, TNT Lite and the latest beta4 builds of Vegan ROM use the hacked version of the TSCalibration binary that looks in /sdcard instead of /sdcard2. That way you don't need an actual micro SD card handy to recalibrate your screen.

Skempo - there was a change in TNT Lite v3.0 where it now looks for calibration.ini on /sdcard instead. Try putting it there and see if that works better for you.

How do I repartition the sdcard?
Thanks for all the help. I finally got the USB file transfer turned on, copied the calibration.ini over rebooted, and the response on the screen is much much better. I actually feel much better about thei tablet now.

Sorry about any confusion I might've caused w/comment about sdcard2 .
Having said that, he should make sure the filename is all lower case right?

I was experiencing similar things with the VEGAN build. I read in one of the threads to partition my device. So I did and wow! Does it perform super fast now! And its been almost a week!
OK, I ask again, how do I partition the sdcard?
Calibration issues

I had the same kinds of problems and several people helped me.
On a new G Tablet that does not have any mods, you can just create an empty file called claibration.ini (I used Windows Notepad) and copy it to a micro sd card. Then you place the micro sd card into the G Tablet's SD card 2 slot and then power up the G Tablet. Leave the G Tablet flat on the table and don't touch the screen while it boots.
There is also a link to another post with other examples of how to make this work wit tnt lite, although, I did not have to use it because my G Tablet is stock.
I had called Viewsonic Tech Support because I thought the screen was going dead. They gave me a phone number to send it in for repair. No wonder why so many of these were returned to Staples (and Sears).
My G Tablet worked OK the first day. However, by day two the entire top half of the screen would no longer respond to touch at all. The simple step of putting an empty file on the root directory of the Micro Sd Card (SDcard 2) and rebooting was all that was needed. Also, you only need to power on and you don't need to hold the volume up key. Just boot as normal and don't touch the tablet.
I know this was long winded, but I really hope it helps someone else the way the other responders helped me. This would be a good procedure for the FAQs or a sticky. Thanks.

I've been seeing this and wondering what was going on... Is the issue documented anywhere?
Hello to all. unfortunately after the update to android 10 some lag appeared that remind me a lot of the s8 .... it's a nightmare that haunts me. I did not reset and I would like to avoid it, could someone tell me if it has been affected by this problem and if it is possible to remedy it without resetting? thank you
I would suggest first wiping the cache from stock recovery mode. See how it runs and if it picks up. You do also have to ensure apps are updated as needed.
Mine lagged too after the oneui 2 update. I've done a reset and at first it was smooth before I restored apps and settings. But after restoring it started to lag especially on home and recents screen. I found a solution to turn off adaptive power saving. Now it's super smooth
Edit: I found out that the lag comes from accessibility services. Mine was AutoSkip. After I turned it off home and recents becomes smooth again.
So, did u advice to avoid the update? I bought mine today and I was wondering if it was worth it...

If you just bought the device, I recommend to not install all your apps yet, but first update all way up to Android 10 (keep updating until there’s no new updates available), and then make a factory reset. After this you can install your things normally.
I've made this process and now my S10e runs like a butter!
EDIT: As mentioned by @kdanina, turn OFF adaptative power saving, but let adaptative battery ON. They seem to be similar but in practice the first one is flawed on our device.
