[Q] Bricked Xperia X10 - General Questions and Answers

After that update to enabling multitouch, it appeared certain windows of Errors. When you finish, everything went fine, but when it restarts, the interface it appears small, don't open any application and no window appears two types of windows errors saying the following:
1: "The process stopped unexpectedly com.sonyericsson.signatureapps.components. Try again. "
2: "The application details contact (process com.sonyericsson.android.friendpivot) stopped unexpectedly. Try again. "
The same window asking for "Force Lock, "so I clicked on it, the same windows error will reappear instantly!
I'm not able to do anything with my device, it is totally new, and I would not lose any bit of it or something.
I bought it on 15/06/2010
I await a response.
I'm still quite calm and I want to solve this problem without any kind of problem.
Thanks

If you do not have any important data/files on your phone then I would suggest just repairing (i.e. completely reinstalling) your phone using Sony Ericsson's PC Companion or Update Service utility.
What it does is wipe out everything and install a fresh default operating system. Plus if you have kept your PC Companion or Update Service utility up-to-date then the reinstall process would also install the Dual Touch feature with the fresh operating system.
Hope this helps. Good luck

Sp5 update fails

- Activesync closes
- SP5 shows the 3 colour screen
- Windows found new hardware "Smartphone USB Sync"
- I get a Files Needed dialog looking for wceusbsh.sys
- Before I get to even respond to that dialog ROMUpdateUtility crashes (ROMUpdateUtility has encountered a problem and needs to close... blah blah blah)
I tried this with firewall on/off after fresh reboot, etc. always the same problem.
Has anybody encountered this problem?
My SP5/Activesync setup otherwise works fine, so I don't know what that missing file is all about.
Any ideas?
Thankfully the SP5 is not a brick.
Interestingly enough, I had the exact same error upon updating my SP5! The solution is to just search for the file on your local hard drive, then point the prompt to that location. It will then finish installing the device driver, and the upgrade will complete.
Yeah, that solved it.
Because the update was crashing before I could even click the Browse button, I didn't think that would have helped.
thanks

Problem With Pantech Matrix Pro

Hi, I tried downloading a game to my phone (Pantech Matrix Pro). It was a .cab file and I have no idea what I'm doing but from what I found from google I think it's good if it's .cab. It has Windows Mobile on it (I think 6.1).
So when I tried opening it from my phone it said "Installing blablablaba..." then it stopped and said "Installation was unsuccessful. The program or setting cannot be installed because it does not have sufficient system permissions."
After looking on google for an answer I found something about SDA_ApplicationUnlock so I connected my phone to my computer with a cable and with activesync like it told me to, then I double clicked SDA_ApplicationUnlock on my computer and it started up. Instead of actually doing something it said "Phone is not unlockable." After pressing OK it said "SDA successfully unlocked. PLEASE REBOOT SDA NOW!" Obviously that's wrong because it just said it didnt work.
So after looking that error up I found something about SP_AllowCertificateInstall or something like that so I put that on my phone and opened it from my phone. It was a .cab file. Guess what? "Installation was unsuccessful. The program or setting cannot be installed because it does not have sufficient system permissions." Just like before.
It's like a neverending circle thingy. What do I do??
Yes, the phone needs to be application unlocked. Here is how to do it. This is for the Samsung Jack, but it will work for the Matrix Pro.

HELP!!! Fuze won't load up!!

I have the Energy ROM on my Fuze. It was working fine today until I restarted it.
I get an error message saying "The file 'autoshortcut' cannot be opened. Either it is not signed with a trusted certificate, or one of its components cannot be found. If the problem persists, try reinstalling or restoring this file"
Once I check "ok", the phone is unable to open anything of use.
The screen has the upper and lower task bars, and background, but none of the touchflow or clock show up.
I try reflashing the ROM but the phone is unable to connect.
I do not know what to do. Please help.
FIXED!!!
After turning the phone on and off MANY times, it finally got to the dialer before loading the touchflow. I was able to sync a connection finally and reflash. Thanks anyways!
Please delete
Re-flashing doesn't accomplish anything that a hard reset wouldn't have fixed. Also, if you flash off your sd card, you don't need to get a pc connection (although you will need a card reader).

ActiveSync/WMDC, Xperia X1, Windows 7 Ultimate -> No connection.

Hello people.
I recently reinstalled my Win7 and I wanted to connect it with my X1, but when I plugged the phone in for the first time, Windows started downloading some weird drivers (RNDIS?) instead just opening the device control panel thing. Now I'm pretty much stuck and can't connect my phone to my PC (I get the connection error sound every time), except for the disk mode.
I've serched for some answers here on xda as well as on the internet and all the fixes I found either don't work, are already applied or open up new problems for me.
Here's what I've tried already:
Rebooting PC countless times
Turning off the advanced network settings in usb to pc menu on X1,
Reinstalling WMDC countless times
Downloading some weird WMDC updates from microsoft download center
Configuring the registry (Enum key) - getting access denied error to everything I'm trying to do there
Opening the device manager in Windows - It's just blank.
About the software and ROM status, my X1 was just HR'd and I've installed just some basic stuff like the performance pack (Advanced Config + SKTools), MortScript and S2P.
I know that the problem here is rather related to PC, but I hope you guys still can help me, as I'm running out of ideas (and sanity).
Sorry for my english (not my native language), and please do help me if you can.
Same problem here.
So far I've been able to troubleshoot it a little.
First off RNDIS is the regular WinMo driver. So nothing weird there.
Secondly WMDC does work when you run the app as an administrator (on my end anyways). That is in no way a solution though... just a workaround.
I now need to pinpoint the part that needs the actual admin rights.
I'm going to keep on trying to find the answer and I hope more people will help.
Thanks for replying for my post.
Launching WMDC isn't the problem for me though. It starts up fine, it just doesn't connect with the phone.
Keeping fingers crossed for a solution, and thanks again.
I managed to get it started too now.
Again, as an administrator it runs all fine and dandy, but no sigar as a user.
So after I get it started no connection whatsoever. Still looking...
Got it!
Installed the drivers through SCCM at system deployment. Then WMDC installs perfectly.
It still wouldn't run though. And this was because of a policy which was enabled: WPD Device: deny read/write access
Enabling write access solved my problem.
hi henk!
I had the same problem.
I changed the policy, then win7 installed drivers for the xperia, it recognizes the phone, I'm able to navigate into the memory card...
But the wmdc don't see my xperia is connected, and if I try to transfer some music from win7 to my xperia, it's very slow(1b/s)!
Have you got any idea?
Had you the same slow speed?

[Q] Enabling Multitouch failed! What Happened?

I brick my Xperia X10a (Android 2.1) ! When I reboot my phone after finish the installation driver for enabling multitouch, my screen is small, the touch not working and now heres the problem com.sonyerisscon.android.friendpivot but I tested the multitouch on Touch Test and work. I don't understand :S
Make the downgrade Android 2.1 to 1.6 will back my Xperia?
What Happened? What can I do?
Help me!!
I'm not sure if I fully understand your problem on this one. I take it you have rooted the phone?
If you try and un-root the phone (install official software via Update Service), does the phone still behave like this?
