[Q]Please, help getting the market place to work. - G Tablet General

I've just installed clockworkMod v08 and TnT Lite v4.2.5, following the instructions in this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=865245
I been able to successfully complete all the steps up until you need to open the market place app.
I installed adobe flash player or atleast it seems to work; both newgrounds and bbc news video loaded just fine.
Whenever I try to load the Market Place or Gmail, the screen just flashes and returns to the same screen where I selected the app to begin with.
I suspect that my mistake is something painfully obvious, but I haven't figured it out yet. I believe, I haven't done the following:
Log in/set up your Google Account before trying the market fix
I tried doing this using the contact app, and this did import all my phone contacts, but I'm not sure.
Can someone please tell how I need to go about setting up my Google Account on the G-Tablet now that I'm running TnT Lite v4.2.5?
Thought I would ask before attempt the two alternative methods link in the bottom of the guide I linked to early my post.
Thanks.

tap the MENU
tap SETTINGS
tap ACCOUNTS & SYNC
You can then add your Google account(s)
- michael

I don't see an accounts and sync tap in the setting page. The closest I've seen is a family accounts.

Market fix is the one downside to my Gtab. Every time Google updates the app site...I have to do a fix. Last fix borked my tab so bad, all of my system and purchased apps all FC'd on me.
Did my wipe, re-installed tnt 4.2.5 used Titanium BU to restore all my apps and now I too can't locate the sync option. I know it use to be there, but now it's MIA as well.

what ROM are you running on your GTablet?

I'm running VEGAn b1 5.11 and have no problem with accessing the Market (It just doesn't show many of the apps that I have access to when accessing through my Android phone).

TnT lite 4.2.5. and I have the same issue you have. Market site only shows the apps that did an update after the restore was done. I still have 15 more apps that don't up in market place under "my apps", and it's been 3 days since I did my restore and market fix.
One thing I did notice w/ the fix is that it took on avg. 48 hrs for my device to show back up under my devices in the market place. This is now the longest I've gone w/ it not showing up.

Quick newb question. Need a simple answer so i can do market fix

I installed the performance pack that goes with the stock tnt 3389 last night.
I am ready to do the market fix, i have read the instructions and am good to go.
Just one problem, i was a long time iphone user and do not have an android market account. All three of the "how to" guides on here remind me that i need to have that done first.
I did a search around the web on how to set up an android market account and saw a few things that seeem to indicate you set it up by launching the market app on your android device....since i have no such device, how do i set up my market account so i can start the market fix?
Sorry, i am an INCREDIBLE newb i realize.
Thanks in advance for the help.
Allen
My market account is my Gmail address and password which I had before I had an android phone. Have you set up a Gmail account and then tried to enter that info when setting up the market
Yeap.
When i run the fix it goes like this.
1) Run the fix
2) Launch Market
3) Market launches google services framework and asks me to sign in
4) I get an error message that my device does not have proper connectivity.
I have confirmed my gmail id and password are correct.
Ok, thanks for the answer.
At this point it seems i am messing up step or two while applying the fix outlined in the 3389 Performance pack thread.
Ill try it a few more times and then its Off to install titanium back up and try that method!

if you are prompted to login to google services framework after doing the market fix, you are not doing the fix correctly - you must be logged into google services framework before doing the market fix
Try a reboot after you do the market fix, I had the same issue with it saying you don't have a proper connection, i rebooted, got that message again, tried to get in market a couple times and then it worked.
As for a market account, yes you sign in with your gmail account, if you don't have one, i think you can sign up for one when doing the market setup.
Are you sure your WiFi is enabled and connected?
Well..
Last night i was using the hotel wi-fi and i was able to stream from tv.com so i assumed my connection was working.
Today i am at the hospital.
i have something new to report...it TOOK my gmail and password and moved to the next step (finally).
However i am greeted with a solid white screen and the word "loading" with a little loading animation next to it. This was on a FRESH boot up, and the loading screen/animation has been going on for about 5 minutes.... (attempting to do the first step in the fix which is to run market)...
Attached screenshot.
I aborted after this went on for 15 minutes.
Launched the market a SECOND time and...viola. It came up.
Ran the fix.
Rebooted
Connected to the wi fi
Ran the market
Got a server error.
Closed market
Ran the market AGAIN.
It is working now.
Lets chalk this one up to connectivity issues going on in the back ground while i was running the fix!
I am good now.
Hey everyone thanks for your help with my initial question and guiding me along the way so that i knew i wasn't out in left field some where!
Happy now.

The new Market looks sweet on our GTablets!
Full-screen in landscape is awesome (many of the apps on mine also go to fullscreen on it).
I just wish I could get TV.com on here somehow. It doesn't show up in the Market and I have no idea where the [.apk]s are in my Nexus One (or on my GTablet either, I'd love to get Swiftkey Pro as my keyboard).
I am able to watch tv pretty good on tv.com using the web site.
Hulu is still a project i am working on...right after getting MS exchange to work and picking out a favorite browser. (not sure about this dolphon, although do like gesture. does xscope do gesture as well?).

[Q] [HOW] Yahoo Messenger with video call

I tried the latest Vegan and CM 6.2 ROMS and I wasn't able to install a working official Yahoo Messenger with the video call.
I also force install it by downloading the APK of the yahoo messenger and the video call update apk. It installed but it didn't work.
I want to know if this will work since I still have time to return this g-tablet to Sears.
PS: what's the best Facebook app with widget support for the g-tab?
I was able to install Messenger and the video plugin from market this weekend, no problem.
Fyi, on Gtab-to-pc calls the video on the pc end was rotated 90 degrees.

I was able to install yahoo messenger just fine through the market. I just tested video calling and the PC user was able to see me just fine with no rotation issue. I'm using vegan b5.1 which also has the gsensor fix. I wonder if that fixes the rotation issue people may be having.

Hi,
That's both weird and good news ...
As mentioned above, I was on stock 3053 at the time, no gsensor fix, so it's possible what you said.
There's a thread under Apps about video calling:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=882637&highlight=video
and can I suggest you post that info there? Seemed like a few people interested in it.

I tried..
I can't see the official yahoo messenger app on the market so I downloaded the apks online instead.. I Installed them. I lauched it but then it says that the app is outdated and it redirected me to the market but that link to the market wont show anything since not all apps will show on the gtab.
Didn't work on CM6.2 either.
Sounds like you need to do the market fix. Yahoo messengers is one of the apps I check to verify if the market fix was applied correctly or not.

I thought market is fixed once I install third party ROM such as vegan or CM.
Problem Solved!
Part Three – Install Flash and fix Android Market
This is needed to view websites with Flash based content, and to download apps from the market. (Fairly obvious, I know, but just in case somebody doesn't know.) Log in/set up your Google Account before trying the market fix (steps vary on the ROM you are using…in most cases you can access the web accounts by opening the Contacts app, pressing the menu button (the one above the back button), and selecting accounts).
Step 1.
Download “Adobe Flash Player 10.1.120.1.apk” which you will find attached at the bottom of this post and save it on your tablet (I recommend creating a separate folder to save .apk files in).
Step 2.
On your tablet open up whatever file explorer comes pre-installed with the ROM you’ve selected. In there, open up where you saved your .apk, then select Adobe Flash Player, and follow the on screen instructions to finish installing that.
Step 3.
Open the Market app. Once it loads close it (press the home button).
Step 4.
Go into Settings – Applications – Manage Applications – Google Services Framework – Force Stop – Clear Data
Step 5.
Go into Settings – Applications – Manage Applications – Market – Force Stop – Clear Data
Step 6.
Go back to your home screen and open up the market. You should get an error. If not, redo steps 3 and 4 until you do.
Step 7.
Reboot your device. After it starts back up let it sit for a minute or two to let things in the operating system normalize. Open the Market. Reboot your device.
Step 8.
Open the market again and enjoy. You now have Flash and the Android Market. (Keep in mind, this is not the FULL market, it just makes around 99% of it available. It is unknown which apps are not available. There is a full market fix, but it is MUCH more complicated).

I followed this and everything is working fine now...
Thank for the help..
-- just clicked all the "THANKS" button!
Although I applied the market fix previously. I searched for yahoo messenger again on the market and didnt find it. I had to reapply the fix once again for it to show.
After the awesome fix POST # 11... the Gtab with the latest TnT and unlock market worked for a day and started me giving pop up errors every app click/open.. The virtual keyboard isn't showing up also. I got pissed and returned it to Sears..
Now CES 2011 is showing me so many cool honeycomb tablets, it must be a blessing in disguise.

AppBrain and Android Market (on PC) issues, no phone install

So I love the idea behind AppBrain and now Android Market (on pc) but I can't get either to work with my phone. Both sync my apps to their website but neither will install the apps I choose onto my phone. Android Market shows the app as installed and adds it to the list while AppBrain says "...error sending the app to the phone..."
I thought it was first the program but now I'm wondering if it's a phone setting I need to change. I have installed and turned on Fast Web Installer and I have made sure I am logged into Google Voice but nothing has helped. I searched around but all other similar problems look like they were solved with an update a while back. Any ideas?
I have a Droid 1 running CynogenMod v6.1.2 with P3Droid kernel LV1.2
Google did some sneaky stuff in the 2.2 android update that disabled the AppBrain Fast Web Installer. The latest version of AppBrain is supposed to have the feature back, but I haven't got it to work either. If you turn off fast Web Install you can brows and create install lists on the AppBrain website and then just click the "INSTALL" button a few times in the app. This makes it easier than browsing the market on your phone, but is still not perfect. I'm just waiting for AppBrain to fix the latest fix so it actually works again. It used to work so well
AppBrain Fast Web Installer is not working on my phone either.
Just to add to previous poster reply as it took me a few minutes to find how to disable Fast Web Installer (i tried uninstalling the application and searched on AppBrain site without success): you have to go into AppBrain app in Preferences/Disable Fast Web Install.
As for Android Market it's woking fine. I haven't changed any setting to get it to work.

New gTab and questions

My wife surprised me last night and took me out to get my gTab a week early! I brought it home and charged it, played with the default installed for a bit, and as we all know...it was awful. I proceeded to install VEGAn b5.1.1, that went as smooth as one could want...15 minutes and I was chugging along on a MUCH better/faster interface. The issue I am seeing now is there are certain apps (not Angry Birds) that aren't showing in the Market. I can't seem to find ADW Launcher, Facebook or Launcher Pro. Any thoughts on this? I cleared the cache and user data when I did the install so I don' think there should be any lingering issues there.
Thanks
Scott
When they are talking about clearing the cache and data for the Market fix, they are talking about clearing it for that app and not the full cache/data wipe when installing the ROM.
Menu/Settings/Applications/Manage Applications and then select the All tab, scroll to find Google Services Framework and Market. You clear the data/cache of those and force stop them. Back out to the main home screen and try to access the Market again. It should error out....reboot the device and after it boots...just wait for a few minutes. Try the Market again...it should ask you to accept it's terms again and hopefully show you more apps then before.
It's just one of those things with having a device that isn't supported by Google and hacking the Market to work.
LauncherPro is one I've seen appear and disappear in the available apps on my Gtablet running VEGAn 5.1. Without real Google support, even tricks and hacks can only go so far.
Luckily for me, I have a Motorola Droid and use that to grab anything my tablet doesn't see and then push it to my Dropbox account and get it from there for my tablet.
Most things I can see with all the Market fixes, do-overs and what not. My test being LauncherPro....saw it once...then it never appeared again after many "fix" attempts. That particular app is also available from the developers site ( http://www.launcherpro.com/ ).
This (using Dropbox) really works well since my other tablet will not boot so once I nvflash boot it....it needs to stay on. Market fixes (requiring a reboot, etc..) aren't possible, so Dropbox has been awesome for that tablet.
Two things that may help
Bluetooth File Transfer might help.
I put this link up a few days ago because I had the same problem.

Also, This video really worked for me with getting full market (roughly 98.9% really) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7l-ny...eature=related

Upgrade to GB -- Old market not installing my apps

I used the RUU from HTC to upgrade my rooted Inspire, and it went beautifully. Everything seemed to restore and my phone feels faster.
However... I have the old market back. That isn't as big a problem as it no longer sees all my apps from the market. I searched and searched but couldn't find the answer. Even more annoying is I swear I'd seen this problem and a solution posted somewhere recently.
Anyone?
Thanks!
I have two ideas:
1. Clear Data for the Market, I've had problems with it and this helped
2. Make sure you have Unknown Sources enabled in >Settings>applications and try to install the new market manually.
I had already cleared data/FC'd and restarted several times.
Installed latest Market, and still no love. It only shows Youtube and Maps. I downloaded something new just for grins.
When I log into my market account, it shows me as registered today but not used yet. I suspect it has something to do with this...
Is it new apps that were recently installed since the upgrade that are not seen or previous apps that were installed with previous ROM? If the apps are installed, possibly you can use Titanium backup to restore market links. Most likely other apps that will do the same.
Market doesn't see ANY apps at all! And I can't use Titanium since I'm no longer rooted.
As a side note, my kid called last night to tell me he had upgraded, and had the exact same problem. After installing the upgrade, he had old market and none of his apps showed up.
That is totally strange if you install a new app and then market fails to recognize it right off the bat. I can't recall anyone else having this issue.
Sorry, I misinterpreted your previous post.
Everything I've ever gotten from the market shows in my market account on my computer, but not in 'my apps' tab in the market on my phone. However, the apps I've now downloaded again now show in 'my apps' but still have the original download dates showing in my market account.
Very odd behavior...
You now have me quite confused too. They don't show up then they do show up? What are you missing then? The apps that you previously downloaded with the froyo ROM?

Exactly. Everything I'd previously downloaded is missing in 'my apps' although the phone and all the apps show up when I log into my market account on my PC.
Doesn't really matter much now. The last time I installed a ROM it took nearly an hour for the market to reinstall all my apps. I've manually reinstalled the 10 or so apps I actually use, and not bother with Paper Toss and Tom the Talking Cat and the other 30 or so space wasters.
Just find it odd that my kid and I, in two different cities and on two different ROMs, had the exact same experience with the market. Go figure.
This i what i had to do
This very same thing happend to me as well. If you go on your home computer or use your browser on your phone and go to the actual Market web siteand sign in you can resend all of your apps to your phone and reinstall them. Then they will show up in market on your phone again. The Market web site is marketandroid.com/apps sign in with your google acct info then click the My Library tab and chose the apps you want to reinstall. Hope this helps. let me know if it works!!!
Also when you first started your phone with the original froyo it asked whether you wanted to back your apps up in the setup. Maybe you did not have this checked. So when you ran the RUU it totally wiped your phone clean as it should. If you did have backup selected, when you installed the new ROM it should have started to install most of the apps. I have noticed it never installs all apps from the market. But it does show for me at least all the paid apps. The apps it did show for you were technically not your apps. They were system apps that were linked to the market automatically.
Also as you did start fresh make sure you have google backup in affect so it keeps track of your apps for the next time you install fresh if you ever do.
I believe the reason the apps show up online with the pc and not your phone because google thinks you uninstalled all those apps.
