u ppl have worked quite well on Functionality !! now u ppl need to focus on Beatufication and Cosmetic efects od the ROM as well !!
@Tilal6991
man could u plzz upload pics for ur Gingerbread THeme v2 !! u know it can be Risky to apply theme .... so I wanna atleast see whether its worth it or not !!!! plzz do that mate !!! cheers !

Thank you very much look forward to!

Yesterday I've got this device, but the C8150.
And now I start to developing the ROM too for this device

Hey, I was wondering what exactly I need to do to get permissions for git and also I was wondering if I could upload my barebones based on FusionIdeos 1.9 on there? I am also going to make a CM barebones as well. My barebones roms have Gingerbread animations and some other tweaks as well. I get between 4-4.33 mflop/s so far @ 600 mhz with my barebones.

hi everyone we thank you for the support and for anyone who wants to develop for us, please talk to tilal. i think he is the only one that can add people to the git....not sure cause im new to the site we are doing it on. tilal should be online sometime tomorrow so be patient.

I'm from Indonesia and I think other developer is from around the world.
so I think if for now we will build ROM not from source, is better to use the Base ROM that have lot of language.
And how about kernel source? should we place on github? so we can colaborating to add/edit feature on kernel.

If its a Froyo build, we'll need to try and merge it with the current froyoman branch as having two simultaneous builds will be a hassle. You should push it as a new branch - froyomanexp A CM build is already up - check if yours is any different. To get permissions just PM me your github username and I will grant you write permissions

So this thread is for 1 ROM or to look at all options out there?

Looking at 3 roms right now
Sent from my Ideos using XDA App

Cyanoman build is up everyone. Gingerman and Froyoman will be arriving tomorrow from me or if maury can manage it, today.

I'm very happy for the existence of a new great team! Hope to seen your work as soon as you can!

all i have to say is wow . thanks for the effort you guys are putting into this. great work . if u need any testers im up for it .

I hope you don't mind if I ask some basic questions about the team's direction:
- I assume 3D is out due to lack of hardware
- I assume multi touch is out due to lack of hardware
- is there a reason not to use Fusion ROM as well or does that depend on FusionDev's involvement?
- are you looking to make 3 ROMs or are you starting out to see which direction works best, then focus on that one?
- given a few existing designs exist with good results, will this team focus on using existing code or redevelop?
I am new to this, but happy to help test when the time is right.
Looking forward to the work of the team, lots of leads out there, I'll add one to an Australian IT forum where I first found out about the U8150 and now ROM's.

:wow:
My head is spinning :chortle:
You guys rock :horns:
Wana help, but dont really know whats going on (at this stage)
Maybe I can be the spit and polish near the end ^^
Keep up the good work
PS - Waiting for a stable version to test & give feedback on

[TOOL][EBI1/32A] MAGIC Port (NOW SUPPORTS PORTING TO 3.xx and 6.xx RADIO!) [01-03-10]

MAGIC Port BETA!
The tool allows you to upload a 32B boot.img extracted from a ROM update.zip and creates a signed update.zip for you to flash on your 32A/EBI1 phone. In other words, it creates a PORT for your 32A/EBI1 phone for the corresponding ROM. Now supports both OLD and NEW radio!
More technical explanation
All the steps done for you when you upload:
Takes the uploaded boot.img apart.
New boot.img: Extracted Ramdisk + Selected Kernel.
Create update.zip: new boot.img + wlan.ko.
Adds in extra selected stuffs NEW/BETA!
Sign update.zip
NEW VERSION! BETA: MAGIC Port BETA
Old: MAGIC Port Alpha
Constructive comments for improvements are appreciated.
DONATE!
If you like my work and feel that I should continue maintaining it, donate to ME: through the MAGIC Port page
If you think that the kernel DEVS should be appreciated more, donate to THEM: Cyanogen, OpenEclair Team, Cursordroid, Sanpei
If you think donations to DEVS aren't worthwhile, donate to the Red Cross Foundation or something
Alternatively, you can choose to donate a little bit of money to ALL.
Changelog
01-03-10 BETA!
Added tons of kernels! (cm, wg, ccr, oe, sp)
Support for OLD and NEW radio!
'Extras' options (Various files and apps to include in the update.zip)
Cleared cache: Old ported files have been flushed - Please be mindful when you port and only do the porting when the port doesn't exist as hosting is not free
18-12-09
Donate BUTTON UP!
Now pressing port wont bring you to another page. Everything is AJAX-ed now.
17-12-09
Donut Kernel Added (BFS? Not tested. Compiled from bfs branch but probably not activated in config)
NEW CLEANER UI! + pretty animations.
16-12-09 - 2
Choosable base package - Minimal, Cyan, Hero
Prevented blank entry of information

great tool!!!!! This is what I always seeking...
but will it work for different rom based? i.e. cupcake? donut? eclair?
thanks in advance you're the man of 2009!! LoL
technically, yes. since the minimal port to get any 32B rom running on 32A/EBI1 is just the kernel and wlan.ko for the wireless to work.
though, the kernel I'm using for the port is based on cyan's latest (grabbed on 14-12-09) eclair git.
you're welcome.
glad to hear that
I'll now try with update-cm-4.2.8.1-signed.zip extracted boot.img
let's see if it works...woohoo
Hey mate, if this work... Will be a grate news for everybody!!!!!
Thanks a lot...

great job dude
thanks a lot
Updated the first post with a ToDo list.
tell me what you want me to include in guys..
and also, for the customization, what kernel do you wanna be able to choose from?
besides that, want me to include audiopara4.csv, key layout files, build props ... like bcrook's ports?
Yes man, very good work!!!
I ported WG-Build 9.2-CFS with RAM Hack and works great!!
great to hear that. though, do note that RAM hack is a kernel hack hence when you port it for 32A, it's all gone. But then again, 32A doesn't need the RAM hack.
Wee~ Updates!
This is very very very nice!
I could try and come up with a much nicer UI?
Yes Brlix, I'll be more than glad to work this out with the community.
Thanks mate works great!
To do?
- Add a Donate Link (would love to donate for such awesome work)
- Maybe add a HowTo/Wiki for those super noobs out there!
Thanks again.
Hey, great that you like it!
It's people like you guys who are willing to support my work to the extend of putting a value to it that makes me motivated to implement more things.
I'll add a donate link as soon as I get a proper design up and I think it's mature enough!
A wiki ehh? Why not someone write a better instruction paragraph for me?
@Briix:
I was waiting for you to come up with a design, but it's okay now, I've came up with a design in mind already. Thanks anyway.

Finally, I can post in dev section ^^
The point of trying to port cm9 is that it's brand new, and way more fun to start from scratch than catching up on a well advanced project.
Besides, developpers are once again free to choose which project to work on, and if people want so much cm7 to be completed, they still can set up a dev environnement, and get to work !

Not all people have such knowledge. Anyway it's their choice. I'm just saying it will probably take already 6 moths to complete this whereas it will only take 2 to 3 moths max finishing cyanogenmod 7 if everyone works together.

nice work....actually I'm also making a kernel like this for purumod btw, where is the source?
HERE'S THE INFO
Downloading Sources
1. Download Samsung Source from https://opensource.samsung.com/
2. If you download from https://opensource.samsung.com/ then you will not have the initramfs.
3. To get stock initramfs, you need to extract it from one of the stock kernel(I will explain it later).
have you thought about helping with the kernel 3.0 project?

Not necessary, because those features are only included in the "initramfs" folder...but if he start to add features that are included in the "Kernel", then the source is required.
What about the features he is planning to add? I guess I bunched them together
@ jason
check the post 3 for the sources
am using ecliar sources for the ecliar
actually i incorporated all the changelog of moikop's kernel in my version 1.0
but ecliar is buggy... so i got plenty of errors while compiling
so, i just want to build a base kernel and add the features gradually... this will be the best choice of work with minimal errors

Those errors suppose to appear while compiling. It seems like it is still much better to build kernels in Froyo...anyways, thanks for the reply, and also, you should add Voodoo Sound v10 in your kernel! here is a clean commit I made : https://github.com/JPurungrit/PuruKernel-G3/commit/c7bf85a4f8d83204c792fb8411407ce07958219f Try it in Eclair! I start some tests witnout arch-capri drivers in kernel/samsung/3.4/arch/arm just to see if Android boot or not, the result was really fantastic so from today we can port 3.4 kernel without any problems.

I have a question dear @CoolDevelopment I manage to update the kernel of this phone from 3.0.101 to 3.1.2 using the patch of kernel.org's website.
here my questions:
-if got failed patch, should skip them in case can't found it code?
-I saw there are a lot of detected commit that already patched, should be skipped too and apply only the new code?
-is enough just downloading 3.1.2.patch and use patch -p1 method or should download kernel source too.
https://www.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/v3.x/
now I'm compiling a zImage seems no errors for now, if boot I will continue the port :good:
thanks in advance

Upload your source man, else noone can help you
I hope you don't have just changed the version numbers...
no i didn't, here my new branch
https://github.com/hak86/android_kernel_samsung_galaxys2plus-common/tree/3.1.2-lp
Compilation is work fine, now i will try to compile with make -j4 bootimage to get the modules and use them on nebula's flashable.

[KERNEL] [MTD] [TW/CM9/CM11] [DEV] Watson Kernel (MTD support on Gingerbread!)

Hello guys,
This is a project I was working on for a kernel for our SGY.
I made it with a few things in mind:
>Improve it's performance
>Be universally compatible (after I nearly given up on trying to get a snappier CM11 and after the need for a snappier SGY, I decided to go back to GB. However, BML is terrible, and it is annoying to come back to. I decided to build a MTD kernel for Gingerbread then, and it works!)
>Experiment and upgrade as much as I can (thanks @robcore!!!!)
But since I lost my device, I cannot continue developing it. I am then releasing the source code (sorry, no flashable stuff, I deleted it long ago ) for any of you to continue(?) my work if your heart so desires.
If I ever get myself another SGY (or another BCM21553 device), I will gladly continue development (and support whoever does it too), but before I lose all my data and the kernel code alongside it, I am making it available.
This kernel features:
-OC up to 1040MHz (It's questionable even today if the bcm21553 OCs really work, but I tried hacking a way that works very similarly to MarocOS's one, maybe even better. Be warned though, the source around it is messy)
-GPU hacks for performance (Again, even I don't know if they do work, probably the values are just there to be seen, I'm not sure. I do know though that increasing the CPU speed will much likely increase the speed of V3D too)
-DVFS disabled (I found out DVFS is mostly the culpirit in the "832MHz crisis" where the kernel would forcefully scale itself to 832MHz, so I eliminated any reference to it in kernel code. Apparently DVFS on the processor is only available under the bcm21553 governor, but it is present on the other drivers as well. The idea for disabling DVFS came from my friend @robcore)
-A few additional governors and a buggy interactive governor (which is the default xd)
-MTD support for Gingerbread (Thanks Samsung Epic 4G! Although it only works on TouchWiz (I tried it with SL v2 and v2.1 and it works, but under NougatME(CM7) I got no success and loads of segfaults), it works ALMOST perfectly. See bugs for details )
-Some scraped source code from Samsung's FSR I found on the internet (barely compilable, though)
Bugs:
>Gingerbread version:
-IMEI won't appear in the Status screen, I also faced problems with non-working radio for calls. Data works just fine, but calling and receiving calls is unavailable. I believe it is EFS-related. My suggestion is backing up the EFS partition's file structure, then converting it to MTD, then restoring the backup.
-TWRP will crash and panic when exiting, a workaround is force rebooting
>ICS version:
-TWRP will crash and panic when exiting (I believe fixing it here will fix the bug above too)
>KitKat version:
-Flashing images fail randomly, you may also be unable to reboot normally if you do so. I tried addressing this but I couldn't get anywhere.

Thanks to:
@robcore - his development on the Snapdragon S4 breathes life on my dev soul!
@zman0900 - I saw his thread on an MTD TW kernel for the Samsung Epic 4G, which led me to believe MTD on GB is possible.
nice kernel
It sound nice. I'm a newbie developer, I'm building a kernel to fix audio bug on cm9, hope it work. And thank you for the source

Have you gathered enough info on it? I would like to fix it too, but I couldn't get any info on whether if the audio bug is a kernel-side issue or an OS -side issue.
Best of luck for you

I don't sure so I decided to build a kernel from your source and another cm9 version from Mohamad.Afaneh's source and I'll merge the audio on both of them for the best think to fix the bug.Thank you .

Ok. The watson-kernel-bcm21553-src is used with other files?
Because i want to make cm9 mohhamad afaneh optimized version

To make it, you have to sync the cm9 source code then add the files from his github to your localmanifest. This thing is not in anyway related to that except the MTD. This one is a kernel-compile only source
Oh man, i give up. I can't build a kernel from source, but i can modify a kernel.
Can someone give me the zimage for ics Please....

Or you can give me the extracted boot.img files. (ICS/KK)
I will rebuild it using dsixda's android kitchen.

Sorry but I can't because I'm bored of making ROMs so I switched back to Windows. I'm planning on making a ROM, I'll compile the kernel for you once I get linux installed
