does headset detection have issues?
I think that's still broke once they get that fixed ill give it another sot...but by far it was one of my least favorite roms due to scores it was showing me through quadrant and smartbench scores

Really not trying to be a douche or anything... but did you get permission to post this from the developers (like toast) who have been working on this rom?
I thought it was gonna be posted once they had it working completely.

Sent from my MikShift.
so what happens if he didnt?
He posted where he saw it
Its on the front page of android forums and you can get it freely over at irc so Im sure they wont mind.
Like I said, i'm not trying to be a douche. I don't know the guy, I don't know if they've given permission or how they would feel about this being posted...
but being how it's been on the irc for a week and it was posted there by the developers and not here. also since the developer is a part of this forum and he didn't post it here, I figured there was a reason for that. isn't it like stealing his/their work?
just saying
I hear ya
I just take it more like promoting their work...but who knows...I think it will get deleted if they dont want it here.
I wouldn't think this would be an issue since he's not claiming it as his work, and there are enough users that cross post so he probably already saw this and he'll ask/have it removed if he has issue with the repost. Good looking out for all his hard work though. (but like you I don't know the guy either, so I guess it's anyone's guess)
thanks!
Downloading now, you dont know how happy i was to see this thread, thanks a lot!
If you didnt get permission from toast you should probably take this down.
Thread closed. Posting a rom that you are not able to maintain and that is not yours is against XDA rules. Posting the link, and just the link in general would have been fine, but copying the entire rom thread without permission is not. Thank you.

[UPDATE]
There was some confusion caused with my posting. This app will not allow you to dial EPST codes from an AOSP ROM. As of right now that functionality doesn't work. I think its a good goal to work towards that, but much work is needed before that happens.
This app had 2 goals in mind during its inception. 1) allow 2.2 users to dial EPST codes. If you remember back to early releases of 2.2 the EPST system was botched. 2) to eventually allow any Sprint phone to dial EPST codes. This was a lofty goal but possibly feasible.
As of right now this app needs some work from serious devs because natively it doesn't do much.
Hope this helps.
[OG]
This is an app my brother and I worked on, but didn't get far with. Things came up stuff happens right? Specifically, HTC fixed their dialer code issue in 2.2 so this app was put on hold.
That said, I think there are two positives with this app. 1) it just makes dialing the codes easier, and we can update it to have a fancy screen where you pick the code and it dials.
2) We can use it to figure out how to get cross-ROM functionality. This is a maybe, but this app gives us the best shot.
More to come, for now you can download the app files here. Just follow the MIT license and all is well.
These files will need to be compiled, it is not an APK. Sorry for the confusion I caused. I can work on turning this into an APK if people want, but it wont do much good. The app is very much in its infancy.

Will most likely work from the browser on the phone as well
not sure if this is the best place to ask this, but your app looks promising and seems related. does anyone know if the ## dialer codes are related to the modem AT commands? there seems to be some correlation between the two and i'm not sure if it's just coincidence or if the ## codes relate directly to the AT commands.
the reason i ask is that i was searching for info on the ##gpsclrx# fix and i found a pdf that lists some AT commands supported by qualcomm cdma chips, including $GPSCLRX. there's quite a few other ones that match up too. i haven't figured out how to send AT commands to my phone, but was hoping that it could be done through the dialer or a program like yours, and hopefully some of these commands could help troubleshoot some GPS issues that CM7 nightlies have.
Link is formatted wrong. Just remove the http:// in front of the https

The link works perfectly fine for me, but I will double check the html.
The file is just a zip, extract it to get the APK and install like any other app from there. I'll post more directions in a minute.
A lot of improvements can be made to this app, so I'm hoping people step up.

No idea. I have another thread on ## Dialer codes and you could ask there, but I'm not sure if anyone has looked into this.
The point of this thread and the app I have listed here is to hopefully help AOSP based ROM users to be able to use the dialer codes.

is this dead? or to good to be true?
I highly doubt this but I wonder if this app would work with CM7 roms?? If so, this would save a lot of time flashing inbetween sense and CM7 in order to get the GPS working and just accessing EPST in general!

We'll know as soon as webs05 puts up the flashable zip or apk. Based on the description, this is basically designed to provide AOSP with EPST-like menu access, so if it does indeed work, then it should work on CM.
And you all thought it wasn't gonna happen... ;-)

Samsung Epic 4G [SPH-D700] GRI22 Android 2.3.4 (Sprint Nexus S 4G Port)
VOIP / SIP / GTalk / Google Voice - Outbound and inbound internet calling
PROJECT FOCUS:
1. Deep integration between carrier(Sprint) and Google Voice for free voice calling, without using any of your mobile device's minutes with IP & VOIP integration to GV. Outbound & Inbound calls purely through Google Voice / GTalk using IP or SIP protocol. Also unlimited video calling, SMS, chat, etc...
2. Extend device beyond manufacturer & carrier's service level agreement, allowing the Samsung Epic to be a top player for time to come
3. Provide a base AOSP platform for CDMA Galaxy S & Future Samsung mobile devices
4. Give me another challenge I guess?
5. Give users the ability to flash directly to the boot, sbl, kernel, recovery, cache, and data partitions without odin or heimdall using flash_image and .IMG files instead of .bin, and finally be able to choose more than one file system during flashing, from within a recovery or android itself.
6. SECRET (Soon to be announced)
I want this to be more of a community effort, being that the development for the Epic is seriously lacking, well development. So please, I encourage suggestions and constructive criticism, keep the moronic stuff to a bare minimum if possible.
You don't like it, or have an issue? I don't care. I don't want to hear about it either. Get bent, and go install another theme and call yourself a dev.
First. No 3g?

Screen animations at this point, are pretty much non existent. I'm sorry, but your question falls under the "dumb" category. Why worry about what the screen looks like while turning on or off, when there is a much bigger picture at hand?
I would like to avoid useless posts like the above(no offense) that will do nothing but clutter the thread, and accomplish nothing.

Would it be possible to have an option to enable voip to be carried on a tcp connection or is this completely our of the dev's control?
It would be nice since my isp at home tends to suck when making voip calls using udp. I don't know why.

Sarcasm not needed. Please please please please please don't ruin this for us with unneeded comments like that. I swear to god I'll shut down your internet connection.
The screen on question, was in fact, not related to the OP as it wasn't stated as an objective. And I don't care how it was worded, question or not, it was a request, plain and simple. This isn't a space for wondering about features. Its for discussion and discovery as directly related to the OPs objectives. Its what the old XDA used to be, from the archives that I've read.
End of discussion

Welcome back! I'm happy to know that you've fully recovered from that accident and came back with a bang! But here is the real question, does this rom, when its fully working, have to be on 3g in order to make calls? My area has low 3g speeds so I see that as a potential issue if so... I'm just a noob, don't bite... too hard

I did the same thing when I first installed MIUI lol... there is no app draw in MIUI. You can create a new file folder and put all your apps in there or you can do like I did and installed Launcher Pro or ADW Launcher that will give you back the app draw...
It should wake up right away ...I did notice you have to push a little harder to slide the unlock... did you do a full wipe before installing ?

I say he's banned because this is me on my son's account.
Ha!
"You have been banned for the following reason:
Disrespecting mods, Swearing in the forums
Date the ban will be lifted: 13th September 2011, 04:00 PM"
Zelender or whatever his name is pm'd me under false pretenses - never introducing himself as a moderator and stating he wanted to try out miui but had heard of exploits in android roms, so he wanted to see the source. I directed him to every miuiandroid, miui china, .us, etc and let him know that MIUI was closed source, but that in two years of using it and a year of supporting a thread of it on two different phones - I had never experienced nor seen an exploit in a miui rom.
I told him if XDA had issue with MIUI then they had thousands of threads to delete. He answered "Your right" and that was the last I heard from him.
Then he starts posting his "Iron Fist" malarkey in my thread after that.
I have had enough. Top 3 rom on the Inspire.
I suppose if "swearing" is grounds for being banned then there are another million or so people waiting to be banned.
My favorite one though is the "disrespecting mod". Ha!
Make sure you all tiptoe around or you might be banned immediately without warning.
Yes - you heard me correctly. I never received anything but a ban. No pm's to "cool it" or "let's work this out".... I was on my phone in my thread one minute and the next minute I'm seeing a notice that I'm banned.

We can get this all sorted out. Just contact the other mod and explain to him and reason to him to get unban

I've been using existz's ICS ROM and in his thread people have complained about not getting MMS pictures. I have problems with it, but after a good bit, it finally downloads.
Anyone else having this problem?

Have you bothered to follow existz's instructions for when you have an issue? Apparently not.
He has stated several several times to check the issue tracker he has on his download page (go re read the op of his rom thread for link). If you have and issue report it there. He can't do anything to help by posting here.
"I am the Bacon Pope"
Also, try the messaging app called Handcent. I use that app over stock messaging on every from even currently using it on existz's rom right now and it works fine.

Tbh, I don't know what they're talking about half the time in that thread, so if I tried anything they're saying, I'd wind up with a bricked phone.
I have used handcent in the past, didn't end well. The app kept FC and so I just use the default, but that was pre-root, so I might try it again.

Then do some research before you end up with a brick that you can't fix or return.
