Help needed on Radio and Roaming

Hi guys,
Ive search this forum for answers but i just cant find what i am looking for. I have two problems that i hope someone knows the answer too.
1, What is the latest and best radio version and can you link it for me.
2, For some reason my phone thinks its roaming all the time even thought i am connected to my home provider in my home country. Is there a setting somewhere i am missing?

latest radio is Radio 4.1.13.54_03.10.90
get it here: ftp://xda:[email protected]/Uploads/Smartphone/Vox/Radios/Radio 4.1.13.54_03.10.90.exe
that has something to do with the SIM not with the phone i guess(have you tried the sim in any other phone). Contact your home provider for that.

Will that only update the radio and leave the WM6.1 image alone?
The sim works fine in all other phones.

yes that will just update the radio.
if the sim is not working in the phone now, i don't guess a radio update would help.
but it doesn't hurt to give it a try

The radio upgrade solved the roaming issue.

Rooted Samsung I9000 sim card not detected

Hi All,
I've just got an Samsung Galaxy S that is coded to a provider network.
So far so good ...
After I've installed an application and root the phone and then unroot it, my pone doesn't recognize my sim card ...
If I navigate to the Mobile Network from Settings then I get No SIM card inserted.
Facts to take into consideration:
- I have restarted the phone;
- I have applied a factory reset and lost all my data except music and files I've got on it;
- I have shacked the SIM card a little bit;
- I didn't applied a hard reset to it;
- I did tried to put a different provider SIM card and the message I get is to insert PIN then is asking for the UNLOCK NETWORK PIN;
- I am able to log in the phone but with no service
Please note that when starting / restarting the phone I get no Insert PIN popup
Anyone has an ideea why ?

No sim card is detected in my Galaxy S.

PHONE: Unknown
CSC:
I guess the IMEI cannot be recognized by the phone.
At least, I wrote it before rooting and flashing.
Any help will be highly apreciatted!

After several restarts, hard reseting the phone and enable-disable networking I still get the sim card removed from time to time ... I don't really know how to debug this... if there is anyone on this forum with the right experience in order to debug the system please write me and maybe we can find a solution.
I must mention that I have unlocked my phone and also rooted it.

well my sim card has been identified but i can't seem to register on the network.....thats as far as i got as a noob with my first android (xperia x8)......can someone help me from here on......

i get nothing from sims from various networks, it doesn't even register as having a sim in it...
unlocked and darkys rom... driving me crazy, it basically a large mp3 player at the moment...

Maybe have installed the wrong ROM. i9000 has many bases and radios. I had this problem installing 900mhz ROM on a 850mhz sim.

Hmm, ok this might be the issue, flashing the htc desire is so much simpler!!
Will try to find correct radios and stuff again...

Even I am having the EXACT same issues right now. I also did the factory reset but that doesn't help!

Have the same problem here. Have you managed to find a solution?

Hi everyone, I don't know if anyone is still interested but I've found that putting the phone into flight mode and then rebooting seems to work, because when I then turn flight mode off it asks me for my pin code and service is restored. As long as the IMEI folder is still in the efs folder then things should be fine.
Hope this helps for anyone who is here or just stumbles across this.

I've had the same problem > Sim Card not found.
I went to the Vodafone repair center today they said the phone had water damage.
Its never been near any water ever-they said that it could have happened months ago - "perhaps you hand wet hands once?". Its still in warranty but the apparent water damage means the warranty its now invalid. So now I'm stuck with an expensive video/audio player with WiFi access. Any help or progress with this issue would be great. Thanks

I fixed the issue bu flashing a working Modem from another rom. Just extract the modem.bin and flash it with odin

Just wanna share an personal experience
:Been flashing rom in n out in this forum for ma LG P970 n a weird problem occured to me
-just flashed ma latest rom(Lezo Rom) n everything went smooth but only ma network didnt show up , Everything else work . Sim already installed in .
-Ma reflex was that ma sim burnt during flashing(it happened to me once) but not at all !! Tried it on ma nokia 5800 (v vip ) n it show that i had to edit ma PUK n pin code . Edited done
-Put back sim in fone but same result : sim missing
-So what i did was simply to go> setting > theme > brightness n pin code appeared to me .
-TADA n its done

Could be alot off things. A issue with the sim card to not being carrier permited. Could also have being blacklisted by a carrier .

bought a new sim card no dice....also the phone worked prior to this for like a month how would it get black listed....this happened immediatley after i hit gsm only by accident in phone settings

Edit: I noticed you started at least three separate threads with different bits of information... Not very good forum etiquette.
I haven't spent time to research this, does your MTS SIM card allow 2G roaming on Rogers? Or only 3G?
I can reproduce the problem, I am running CM7 on a 9020A, with the XXKB3 radio, on the Bell/Telus joint HSPA network, which does not have a 2G GSM network.
On the 9020A: toggling 3G back on, then reflashing an appropriate UCKB2 or UCKD1 radio should fix this. (Either through fastboot or with CWM and the appropriate zip radio files.) You can then reflash the 9020T uncapped XXKB1, XXKB3 or XXKD1 radios afterwards if you wish.

well i just tried uckd1 and nothing...about to try uckb2

attempted to write uckb2 but it said failed and i don't wanna try that again i briked a phone like that once.... so still emergency only calls and im on uckd1

ok! we have progress but not all the way there yet...i can now find the MTS network with uckd1 but when i click on it...it says unable to conect at this time....when i hit select automatically it says registered on network. This has not fixxed the problem just yet tho...any other suggestions?

HI everyone,
I recently trie to put the ROM OAKP on my device HTC Sensation XE. THe setupd did'nt work, so I put a backup that I done. But now I can't call or send sms. I have "service Limited" on the phone. I tried to set up different ROMS (HD REVOLUTION, OrDroid) but I still occure the same probleme. I update the firmwire and the Radio, but nothing solve the problem
Does any one have a solution ?

might be a loose sim ..happened to me once
..just check it ..and add a paper on top of the sim/sim tray to make the sim fit tight

[Q] HTC Sensation no signal (no service) issue

i am facing no service issue with HTC sensation xe with audio beats i have tried custom roms and stock roms with no luck , did factory restore , i have s-off +root.
hboot version is 1.27
baseband : 11.76A.3504.00U_24A.3504.31_M
When i turn on the device without sim card it says "Please insert sim card" and when i put sim card it says limited service and no signal with cross on signal bar .
Please tell me what should i do to fix this issue also what do you think its a hardware related issue ?
One more thing .. when i insert the sim it pops up the available networks and when i try to register on network it says Your Sim card does not allow to connect this network.
Also when i put the phone in air plane mode i can change the network mode to GSM only and WCDMA but when airplane mode is off and radio is on i can't change those settings .
if i go to testing section by pressing *#*#4636#*#* and then i go to Phone settings i see there "WCDMA preffered" as the network mode and when i try to change it from dropdown list it doesn't allow me to change .
do you think if i flash some other radio/rom it will work ?
also what other thing can i do to figure out the issue .

Hi,
It seems that your radio and firmware should work for most ROMS around.
How old is your sim card?
It might be worth trying to get a new one.

My Sim card is new and its working on other handset so its not a simcard issue

No .. Sim card reader is also fine because i can still see the sim toolkit folder and when i put the sim in device it shows me a popup to select network when i try to join it fails to register on network .
also i can dial emergency numbers.
i don't think the sim card reader is broken . phone is detecting the sim but no signal .
if there is a problem with signal IC then it should not detect any network operator to choose from .. so it seems its not a hardware issue

I have just installed CM10 rom and now phone is displaying my network operator name on the lock screen but still no signal

I just checked in secret hidden testing mode "*#*#4636#*#*" that i am getting -60dbm Signal strength i don't know if its enough to show in bar or not .. but when i try to call it says "Mobile Network not available" .

Hi, have you managed to fix this issue? I have exactly the same problem with a 3 week old phone!
I called HTC to let them know and they think it is a sim problem, however, my sim is very new and is working in other phones!
I don't know what to do, I needed a new phone for school and to my dismay, it is not working!!
It was working until last week and I haven't damaged the phone at all, I am very protective over it!!!
I have read stories over flashing the phone, but I worry that I will damage it if I do so, and my parents just spent a lot of money on it for me. LOL!
My sisters' and I all got the same phone, but theirs' working fine!
Please let me know if you can help me

type in dialer *#*#4636#*#* and go to phone info
from there it has options for network

I seem to have the exact same problem as described above (no signal, sim card seems to be fine)
Did any of you fix this?

Had same problem on nexus s after updating from jb to ics,no signal problem...changed sim card,everything fine..

I think I had the same issue (as described here). While I'm not really sure which of all the tricks tried that made it work, I'd recommend trying yet another SIM. Good luck!
Edit: After all, it doesn't look like it works. My current provider claims this HAS to be related to SIM-locking.
Edit #2: Check for IMEI blocking.

two times i've luck and phone have signal, with a ruu. but i'd like to flash viper rom, so unlocked hboot 1.27, flash recovery 4ext, reboot in the same stock rom, and.. not signal......... same radio, same rom... only hboot unlocked e 4ext recovery
i don't understand

go to phone info and change the network to WCDMA only or WCDMA preffered or GSM only
see how it goes

change 3 ril, reboot any times but nothing happens. then i go to have a breakfast and when i return after 20 minutes... i have signal!!
i don't know how, i don't if it happens by change the ril because during last week i flash many ril but nothing happens.

No sim no service
Hi when i boot the mobile say no sim no service , but when i go to settings / mobile networks i can choose my operator (o2 uk) , its really anoying , I have Unlocked bootloader, S OFF , ROOTED , NEW Firmware , but nothing helped , I really like this ROM can you pls help me thx .
