Resco task manager missing? - HD2 Windows Mobile 6.5 Themes and Apps

I just installed resco explorer 2010 but I cant find the task manager. Is it hidden? or is there something else I have to do to get it to show or install?

No, it´s not hidden and should be under Programs.
If you are using a localized version of WM you might take a look in your windows directory. is there another directory for start menu? The link for Resco Task manager might be installed there.

no theres just one file for start menu...
would installing it on my sd card instead of the phone have something to do with it? should i uninstall and install it on the phone?

No, it makes no difference to install it to sd-card. Do you really have an official version of Resco File Explorer? Try to download the latest version from the developers page.

Try file *.Cab. here:
Reso Task Manager.cab

Isn´t it an illegal download? In this forum you mustn´t link to cracked software

Need help, java icon in "programs" seems to be missing.

I have tried to open .jar files on the device and it's seemed to fire up some java platform that supports those files. it asked me something about where to install but there was only one option <root>
when I click install it installs and everything work well, but the problem is that I can't launch that java manager in any other way... I mean there is no "java" or "esmertec java" or anything in my programs folder.... Maybe some cleanup software like "sktools" deleted the shortcut or something ? How can I get it back ? Any other way to launch it? The application seems to work, the only problem is that I can't launch it...
I have htc touch cruise with the default rom.
PS:
Sorry for double post, posted in wrong section....
Thanks in advance.
if i were you i'd look for the midlet manager in \program files\
and use a tool like total commander to make a shortcut in \windows\startbar\programs myself
there is nothing relared to midlet maneger in program files folder either....
i even tried to search for files contzining "mid"... nothing relevant found.
Should that manager come preinstalled on the device ? As I didn't install anything... maybe I can reinstall it to get it fixed ?
Is there anywhere I can get that java manager from so I can reinstall ?
Just create a shortcut, that points to windows/java.exe
(at least that's where i found the app)
I don't have java.exe in windows folder :-(
Just found what you're looking for
windows/jbed.exe

Very cool that the TC includes the jbed midlet manager. Opera mini runs really well using it.

Application not showing in Programs list

Hi,
I have an application that i can run (its an exe file) when i click it in File Explorer, but it runs but does not appear in the Programs list in WM6.
The application is called Stoptime from Jonathon Sachs of dl-c.com
Anyone know how i can rectify that?
Regards
Gavin
edit: i figured it out. By the way its an exellent stop watch application.

You can just tap and hold on it in File Explorer and tap "Copy" then in File Explorer go to My Device --> Windows --> Start Menu --> Programs and paste it in there.
the exe file has to be installed through activesync.
Not necessarily. Sometimes an app is downloaded as an EXE and you run it on your PC and it installs via ActiveSync. But sometimes you download an EXE and it is supposed to run on the phone.
If you use the file explorer to make a shortcut to the exe rather than copying the exe, you don't have to copy any dependencies across.

I tried this first before posting this topic, and after reading some instructions, learnt that the only way to get it to appear in the Programs list is to install it via Activesync.
note: i recall that some one was able to extract the cab file (from exe files needing to be installed via activesync) from the installation so that future installs can be achieved without activesync.

Could it be that the file explorer is hiding the "real" file extension from you?
If not the file association is set incorectly for some reason. The easiest way I know to change the file association is using Resco File Explorer which provides an "open with" option. There you should select "wceload".
HTH
Thanks, I will try it, I was just wondering weather changing the extension within windows is possible?
Zah
I just did dome research in my registry and that should probably be it:
Code:
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\cabfile\Shell\Open\Command]
@="wceload.exe \"%1\" /nodelete"
I can't quarantine you though!
Hi,
I installed Resco explorer, I cannot find the open with function. I am trying to install Klaxon and the setup.xml is reflecting as a Opera extension, when i double click setup it opens in the Opera window.
Please help...
Thanks
How is the exact filename of the file you try to open? Are you trying to install a .cab or are you trying to install a .xml-file?
In Resco Explorer, when you tab and hold a file a popup dialog appears the second option is open which brings up a submenu where you can select "open with".

Really simple question

I'm trying to create a program for windows mobile 2003/5.0/6.0 smartphone but I can't for the life of find the File Explorer. I can in 6.0 but where is it in 5.0 or 2003. Please no links to google or "jfgi" responses, I wouldn't be asking if I had yielded any success.
Thanks in advance
Have you tried looking into Total Commander. It is a 3rd party app and is a very good File Explorer for the PPC, I highly recommend it. As for the stock one, it should just be in the program folder, no?
Hope this helps.
PS If you Google Total Commander for Pocket PC, be sure to download and install the PPC version NOT the desktop version.
Nol. It isn't. I can't find the stock file explorer to save my life. Did 5.0/2003 not come with one? Am I so stupid that it's right in front of my face?
on my Jamin beofre i flashed 6.1 rom it had 5.0. I am sure the iexplore.exe was in the windows folder, 99% sure it should be there. I dont have it anymore so i can t check for you, but i have a reasonable memory
Not the internet explorer. File explorer. Or file manager. Either one. Nowhere to be found.

Lol, Ironically, he would need to search the Windows Folder from File Manager, which he doesn't have apparently
Like I suggested, download and install Total Commander. And do it with a .msi over the Activesync cable, because you won't be able to install a .cab from the storage card without a File Explorer. From there, you can then look in File Manager for its own launch program.

THANK YOU. Seriously, thank you. I wasn't sure if it didn't have a file explorer of I was just retarded. Thanks for clearing that up though.

You have to extract the Opera9 file and copy directly to Windows.
It is all.
Best Regards,
Hi, what you have said is a bit vague. the extrated file from the download is an exe file so dnt i need to run it once i copy it over? and what windows directory? do you mean the windows folder on the device memory? not the opera9 folder in the windows directory?
so your asking i copy the exe file into the windows folder on the device memory and just run the exe? is that what i do?
please explain properly (full file path and instructions)
Thank you very much

Yes you have to copy Opera9 file to the Windows device memory, then you will be asked to overwrite, so you should tam yes.
Afterthat you can normally run Opera web browser but in new version.

Much faster doing what? Page loading times are about your internet connection are they not?
Faster optimization, screen rotation? Pleaze post !
I copied the file overiding the original and when I try to start opera, it says "Opera Loader" with a red cross which when pressed it exits...
Any thoughts?

I deleted the existing Opera.exe file from the Windows folder and copied this one, but the app won't start. I think it has something to do with the attributes of the new exe file. The ROM attribute is ghosted. Any ideas?
Thanks
Procedure is clear to me. Just overwrite .exe file with new .exe file
But to spare me hazzle and spending one day to revert: does this change my opera-settings which I tweaked in operaconfig or goof them by incompatibility ?
Does this new build support flash better than the old one ?
What EXACTLY can the new build better than the old one ?

I have similar questions,my opera is skinned and as troed mentioned
several operaconfig tweaks including having moved the Cache.
Anyone know whether these will all need re-doing if we upgrade
to newer version ?
In short is it worth the effort just to have a different version number ?
Anybody notice that with this version Manila internet ta bookmark thumbnail don't work with manila 2016?
I and others using the whole package. I have not tried only the .exe

Hey Bobsbbq, do you mean the thumbnail not populating a page image? If so, yes I have. The only way I've found to get the image to show up is to open each favorite site in IE.
