Need help Weird Vibrant - General Questions and Answers

New to Droid os. I need help reformating to factory. I recently updated my vibrant to 2.2, with the 2.3 interface i believe? Anyways after the update my phone was working fine. Then things went down hill when i tried to over clock my phone. As it was going into recovery mode I accidently hit reboot. then i tried deleting data, and cache. But when i tried to reinstall things from recovery mode. It told me nothing could be found. So then I tried flashing factory rom with Orin, but it said unable to flash.
Now my phone just turns on all the way to the galaxyS logo and then shuts off. Please any help would be great. I already tried looking through the forums but nothing seems to work.
PLEASE HELP, with a cherry on top

why dont you send for warranty

Pls help!!! Battery mod bricked my phone :( PLS!!

Hey guys
I have a Samsung Galaxy S. Last week I tried installing a battery icon and after installation, it rebooted my phone. It's now stuck giving me the message titled, "Factory Test Failed" w/ error,"no package was found that provides the factory_test action‏" I have the "Confirm" button, but everytime I click it, the same msg pops up again. This happens after the Galaxy and rogers logo loads. I tried going to recovery mode and clean up my user data and cleaned up the internal SD, but nothing seems to work.
I don't have my USB in debugging mode, so I am not sure if Odin is going to work on it. Any help? I did upgrade it to 2.2.
You may have to reflash 2.2 to get everything back to stock and/or do a factory reset within recovery if you can
You crashed your phone - try to reinstall the software.

[Q] Phone issues after flashing Gapps.zip

My friend has a Captivate. He lost all his google apps, android market, gmail, etc. He flashed gapps.zip from his recovery and now his phone is not working right. When he flashed a new rom to his phone, and it brought up the welcome screen it shows it for about 2 seconds and then reboots. He is also almost unable to access the recovery becuase of this, but even when he finally was able to access it and wipe everything, dalvik, cache, data/system, it still has issues. Nothing is fixing the issues from the gapps.zip. He was wondering if there is a way to wipe his entire phone from a update.zip file. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you in advance.
Please note that even when he wipes everything in recovery and flashes a new ROM, it still reboot on the welcome screen and he is unable to resolve this issue.
Ok, so he has now wiped all cache and system files, now instead of showing teh galaxy S logo with the cyanogen logo underneath, it shows just the AT&T screen, but it will not go any furhter, it just sits there. He says that because he is now unable toget into android he cannot access the recovery and the volume up/down is not responding. Is his phone Bricked?
Have you used Odin 1-click to revert back to stock?
had my friend use the Odin 1 click and he said it still did not work. He cannot get the volume up/down trick to work, when before all this it worked just fine. I am going to guess that the only thing he could try is the jig method. He swaers that Odin3 is not doing anything

[Q] Samsung Galaxy S CWM Application Question

Hello everyone,
I searched the forums for awhile but could not find a satifying answer for my question. So i am hoping you guys will have an answer for me.
First of all i would like to point out that i am not looking for an answer for how to unbrick the phone. There are several guides and hopefully when i get home i will be able to fix the problem. *Fingers crossed*
I did not have my Galaxy S for long. After getting it and installing KIES and updating my firmware the battery life what terrible so I rooted the phone and then installed Gingerbread 2.3.6 JVU. it worked like a charm.
Yesterday when I was playing with the CWM application, I decided that i was going to back up the phone and backed it up using the application. This morning one of my programs was acting weird and I decided to restore the backup I have done yesterday.
Upon going into applications and CWM, I chose the restore option and started the process. Everything was going smoothly, the phone was plugged in to the charger as well.
When the phone rebooted after the initial process I am stuck at logo screen. i can go into download mode (That is why I am hoping that I will be able to unbrick it) however that is as far as the phone goes. When I try to go into CWM Recovery mode, I am once again welcomed by the phone getting stuck at logo screen.
Does anyone have any idea as to why this might have happened? To avoid future problems is there any extra steps I should have taken before using the CWM restore function?
Thanks for the help.

Maybe your backup was corrupted somehow. You could have tried wiping the dalvik cache after restoring your backup (before rebooting), but its too late now. Since you can get into download mode, you can easily fix the problem (your device is just soft bricked - nothing to worry too much about).

The phone rebooted automatically. Did not give me the chance to do anything beforehand.
As you said the phone was soft bricked so when i got home that day i just fixed it. No problem. However I am really really into getting to find out how a 1 day old back up can get corrupted.

[Q] SGH-I747M won't reboot after Cyanogen update

Hi guys, my phone is right borked and I hope someone can help me out. I've been searching forums all day and I find bits and pieces of advice that apply to parts of my situation, but haven’t found a fix yet.
I installed CyanogenMod on my Rogers Samsung G3 a couple months back. Everything has been going smoothly until last night when I installed an update.
The phone rebooted and got stuck on the Samsung splash screen with the blue cyanogen dude. I left it for 30 min and when I got back, it was still the same.
I took the battery out, turned it back on and ended up in the same spot. I took the battery out again, turned it on and left it over night. Same thing this morning.
On advice from this forum I put the phone in recovery mode. I thought I had TWRP, but Clockwork Recovery comes up.
I did a factory reset, and cleared the cache. Rebooted and still the same thing.
I tried to flash the ROM, but it doesn't work. The android dude just lies there, dead. Poor guy.
I plugged it into my computer but even though the computer makes the connection ‘cah-ching’ its not recognized. Through the recovery screen I tried unmounting and mounting everything, and mounting as usb and the computer still won’t pick it up. I uninstalled Kies, and the drivers for the phone and re installed everything. The driver pop up says MTP has failed.
Any suggestions?

One PlusOne recovery loop- Help needed

Hello, I need serious help with my phone.
So, after a long while of having my phone rooted, and had a case of boot loop with twrp, I decided to go back to stock os and hung up the root days. I thought i did it right by getting a stock os and flashed it, and it worked for couple months, until yesterday.
My phone keeps going into Cyanogen Recovery, I tried rebooting so many times, once it did boot up to OS, but it went back after i restarted phone or it died.
Now I can't no longer get back, I thought factory resetting will work but it didn't. (Tried both wipe cache partition and Full factory reset option from the recovery) I found unroot your phone toolkits, thinking it could help fix my problem and just unroot/ give me back to OS (I wished i found this before flashing that custom stock rom).
But the toolkit doesn't work for me, it finds adb devices, but it cant find fast boot devices, because my phone cant even go into fast boot.
I tried manual, and the option from the recovery, it keeps going back to recovery. I have an option for apply update, and then apply from ADB, that was the only way for my pc to recognize my phone from adb devices. Any clues on how to fix?

Will try, Ill respond back if anything happens!
Hmm I'm still having trouble because, I can't get into fast boot for some reason. It's keep going back to Cyanogen recovery. It has the option to reload into bootloader, but goes into cyanogen recovery again.
There is an option in dev options, uncheck the "update cyanogen recovery" and flash twrp again
