2.3.3 Launcher2 - Hero CDMA Themes and Apps

This is the standard Launcher2 app for Android 2.3.3, compiled from Cyanogenmod 7 sources.
Note that if you wish to install this to CM7, you first need to remove ADWLauncher. My recommendation is to delete ADWLauncher from system/app and then push Launcher2 into system/app.

Sooo glad there's alternative launchers out there. Works though.

Hmmm, does this launcher has a settings option? Like choosing home screens and whatnot? I followed the instructions and deleted AWD from system/app and replaced with this attachment. It works but I was just looking for the options and did not figure it out yet.

No options, just the plain-old default Android launcher.

[Request] Home++ ported to launcher?

Would it be possible for someone to take home++, and convert it into a launcher2 install? Would love to have home++ as my only home theme and not have launcher still running in the background.

i think you can push home++ via adb to replace launcher 2 (rename, push)
there was another post somewhere... but i don't have the link now, maybe you can search it (home++ push launcher)
on the other hand... i am a bit disappointed, home++ hasn't been developed further since December... it had so much potential, but honestly i still find it rather buggy and not all functions have been fully implemented. it's still beta version 0.8.0.7.14 and it has been in that state since December
You can probably just install Home++ and then delete Launcher2. I am using the Old school Launcher by DocRambone and deleted my normal Lancher2. No problems at all. Just make sure to Nandroid backup before you do it

[Q] Can a mod for rosie.apk be ported to another launcher?

I found this mod. You can remove text under icons with it. Nothing new, ADW and Launcher Pro can do that too, but you can also remove text under icons in the app drawer! And that is awesome! I know not many people want it, but I think it's nice to have.
Only problem: it is a mod for rosie. First I didn't know what rosie was, but it is just the HTC Sense launcher. My question: can this easily be ported to another launcher, like Go Launcher EX? Or is there something that does exactly the same: removing text under icons in the app drawer? Would be awesome!

First the obvious question: Have you tried using it?

Well, no, but someone asked it already in that topic (his question was if it would work on Darchdroid with ADW Launcher), and the answer was this:

I'll post it up shortly, but it definitely won't work on Darchdroid, as it is a mod to Rosie.

If you don't have Sense, you don't have rosie.apk, and this mod changes something within rosie.apk with metamorph. So how could it work on another launcher?

3D Drawer Settings

Hi Guys.
I just rooted my Nexus S and installed CyanogenMod 7 (Stable). Everything is working fine but I have one possibly stupid question to ask.
Before when I had stock Android the app drawer had a 3D effect which is now gone. I have looked through both the Cyanogenmod settings and the ADW Launcher settings and I cant seem to find a way to enable it.
If someone could point me in the right direction I would be thankful.
Menu -> Settings -> ADW Launcher -> (I use ADW EX so it might appear different) UI Settings -> Drawer Settings -> App Drawer style
The ADW Launcher in CM7 is different from ADW EX and ADW Free on the market.
also launcher pro has the 3d app drawer effect, and its now working perfect on cyan 7. but to answer your question, cyan 7 comes wtih ADW lanucher, not the stock launcher. so ADW prob has to turn on that setting and it will work...or use launcher pro. or push the stock launcher back to your phone.
Thanks. I downloaded ADW Launcher EX from the Marketplace since that feature wasn't available in the Cyanogenmod version.
@ RogerPodacter
How would you go about pushing the stock launcher? As I also am running cm7 but want the stock launcher.
Thanks in advance.

get launcher2.apk and put it in /data/app or /system/app/ via adb / file manager
or find frank707's mod that removes adw and puts stock launcher, but you lose a lot of customization

ADW launcher update

I have the Heinz 57 loaded that comes with the adw launcher, the app in the market is a newer version, will it hurt anything to dl and update the launcher?

Heinz uses mr home. Its adw on crack. Got a few more features then straight adw. But you could use any launcher I would think
Tap-a-Talked
Actually Mr.home is adw launcher straight to the code. I noticed this while working on the apk for tfgas. I actually did not see on thing in it that was changed from adw launcher so in turn it is the the same.
All it has is from I remember in gas's vid is the screen animations for uot kitchen added. I could be work on that part but all mr. home is over regular adw is the animations.

It doesn't play well with live wallpapers where ADW works just fine - but otherwise I think you're right just different animations.
As far as updates, it shouldn't hurt to update it...it's just an app that dfgas has preloaded in the rom.
That is odd but it truely is adw launcher. Watch it when you install it or tfgas's rom you get a little pop up for the changelog As for messing with anything no matter of rom you can install a different launcher. Just install it and hit the home button then set which ever to default. If you want to switch back to the old launcher download home switcher from the market.
I believe that is the name any way
You can also just go to settings- apps- manage apps, and clear defaults for the launcher. Then when you hit the home key it'll ask you which one to use again.

Nova launcher is a good alternative, can use icon packs and can be setup to look the same as google launcher

So, I really like Grace UX, yet you can't get it by theme. So I am looking for a TouchWiz launcher that is able to change icon packs. I'm a bit picky so it would have to be pretty much exactly like stock. Any help please??
If anyone knows a way to get it another way, that would be great as well!

Launcher doen not include icons, so launcher doesn't mean anything, 50% of what you want are icons, and you can change them on stock launcher only by recompiling apk, putting certain icon in it, resign it and put it in system app or priv app folder woth correct permissions.
