Dose this music player remove the stock player when i install it ?
No it not remove anything, it's just the best application for music you never installed !
You flash it in the recovery or you copy the apk in /system/app/ with root explorer
Yeah I flashed it and it works fine. Just lazy to go into recovery mode that's all.

I'll second that request for a signed apk ... I like my warranty too much to root my phone.

thanks for the zip! before I grab it I have a couple questions.
like the rom, is this music player only for HDPI? i know it says all phones, but I want to make sure it will work for MDPI (hero) also, could you post some screen shots in your OP or a link so we know what it looks like?

or if anything, tell me how i can do it? I'm a graphic designer so if i had the actual art files it wouldn't be too difficult. i just dunno how to access the art files and then re-save them to use for a theme

alright i think i ported them over correctly. I used the port script program and then put them into update.zip files using the updater script program
I'm currently backing up my phone and then i'll test them out
If they work fine I'll upload them both
yeh i must have missed something, the update zips I created don't install. They get to "installing update" in recovery and just hang there....nothing actually happens
I'll upload the zip files if anyone wants to try and mess with them

@Davidukfl
here is your framework man! Make sure that you rename the files to just framework-res.apk. I just renamed them for your convenience!
Take the following steps to put it back on your phone:
USUAL DISCLAIMER: I'm not responsible if you brick your phone...blah blah blah
Connect your phone to your pc in charge only usb mode. Make sure the phone is recognized by your computer. Place the .apk file in the location of your choice.
Command prompt 1:
1) type adb devices (make sure your phone shows up)
2) type adb shell
3) type adb remount
4) type adb push <location of framework-res.apk> /system/framework/framework-res.apk
5) type adb remount
Your phone should reboot, and then be good to go.
I dont use fission, and haven't tested this, but it has worked for me when I have ported ROM's.
Enjoy!
alright thanks, works great.
What i did was remove the old framwork from the original theme file, re-zipped it and then applied the theme like normal.
then I followed your instructions and applied the framework seperately

someone over on androidforums ported it for 2.4.X however i don't think he has time to update it for the newest version.
the framework posted earlier is cool, but it's not the entire theme, plus im having troubles pushing it to my device.
An actual update.zip would be brilliant for us "less technical" folk

Most likely, I didn't sign any of them, assuming people would push them through ADB. =P
also, do you have to push "people" and "dialer" together since they both are closely linked? also, i think even if you push them, if they are not signed they might not install. I am a total noob, but that was my issue when i modded some apk's etc

You don't need to sign them if you push through adb. I pushed them all to my phone before posting. And no, you don't have to push them together, one after another is fine as they are replacing the app instantly.

Mms up for you mang.
I originally was not planning on making zips of these, as they are just one app, and everyone here IMO SHOULD know adb. It's an essential tool for having a phone thats hacked. However, I know some people might want this and might pass it up due to the fact that they don't want to learn. So here ya go. This post will contain ZIP's and will be linked in the OP. I'll update as I make them. I will not be including these in the OP to avoid clutter.

P.S. would these remove any theming already there like the dialer and so forth.

Also if anybody could cross-post to the cm9 dev thread it would be appreciated.

I tried this on the Abduction 2.0 ICS rom and the camera kept Fc after it was installed, but I'm not sure I did it correctly. Does this apk replace the existing camera.apk? In other words, do I rename the existing apk (e.g., camera.bak), and then install the new apk? When you say "push," do you mean move the new file to the system/app folder? It did work on the CM9 rom. Thanks for the great work.

I've really only tried it in CM9, and I think if you get the latest camera drivers from MongooseHelix you won't need it. All I did was protect against a null pointer error in the app because the camera drivers were returning null when it wasn't expected.
But yes, you need to put it in /system/app (with Root explorer, adb, etc) and open it.
Force closes on Sabsa Prime 7. :/

You could try it, the worst it could do is FC the camera app until you restore your backup of the original - but like the OP says, it was a fix that was made unnecessary even in ICS by changes to the camera driver by MongooseHelix (of the Evervolv team), so those changes are almost certainly already included in JB or have been made unecessary by other changes.
Edit: If you do choose to try this, there is no Camera.apk in JB, it's called Gallery2.apk.
Having salvaged the apk files from the Galaxy Nexus ROM and the necessary lib from the apks themselves, I thought I'd share this find of mine. Sure, there are ICS-like keyboards on Google Play, but this is the genuine deal for all of you, whose ICS ROM doesn't include the stock keyboard (TouchWiz based ROMs, for one).
How to install via adb:
adb remount
adb push LatinImeGoogle.apk /system/app
adb push LatinImeDictionaryPack.apk /system/app
adb shell mv /system/lib/libjni_latinime.so /system/lib/libjni_latinime.so.old
adb push libjni_latinime.so /system/lib

Thanks! Was looking everywhere for this. I didn't like the ones in playstore. One of them is actually really good, but doesn't have my other language (Arabic).
Stock ICS keyboard is my favorite keyboard on all smartphones. Switched from GNexus to SGS3 and was very disappointed by all keyboards I tried, until now that is.
Lots lots of thanks!
Nice! I hope this is better than the one I already bought, it was only $1 so its alright. We'll see. Thank you

tried to install on htc evo 4g running cm9 but when i go to messaging app and click on the symbol at bottom to type new message it says Unfortunately, Android Keyboard has stopped! What do i need to do or is this not compatible with the the og evo on cm9? Thanks
Have you guys ever tried the hackers keyboard? I use Swype, so the ICS keyboard as a daily wouldn't work, but I need something in the terminal. I used to switch to the AOSP keyboard, but when I find this one, I thought it to be more flexible in allowing additional characters, ctrl, alt, etc.
Just curious on what you thought...
I am not sure if I got it in the market, but I think so.

It's a hit-or-miss, really. I extracted the needed lib, but as for the other dependencies - I'm not that much of a dev to find out.

Thanks the keyboard work here really good (ICS ST15i)
Just curious: what have in this libjni_latinime.so? All android, I guess, already have this, and I keep my stock, just want to know if this is a kind of library with a lot of supported languages, better than I or we have already...
I cannot thank you enough for this!! The stock ICS keyboard is great and Motorola saw fit to replace it with their "large key" version of it on the recent Droid RAZR ICS update.
Would be great if this could be made into a non system APK so it could be installed as a regular app without root.
But thank you again!

By the way -- for anyone interested, on the Droid RAZR ICS (Release ROM) -- you don't need to replace the stock or push this "LatinImeDictionaryPack.apk" as it is already included. Seems the stock Motorola keyboard uses this APK.
Also, the library file is not on the phone so you don't have to worry about renaming the old one either.
Basically just put "LatinImeGoogle.apk" into /system/app and "libjni_latinime.so" into /system/lib and you are set.
Don't even need a reboot!

+1 to that. I tried just continuing with the steps and it says that I pretty much can't access the /system folder with a production ROM...it's the stock, but rooted T999 ROM.
Hey,
I'm running a CM9 Rom and I've copied the files to the relevant locations and the stock keyboard is still not showing in the language and input settings area. I even tried a restart to see if it had worked and still nothing.
* I have also tried installing the apk like a normal package which makes it present in the settings area but whenever I try to use anything that needs it (Browser, SMS etc) it says "Unfortunately android keyboard has stopped." I tried clearing the data and still the same. *
Any idea what the issue could be or if this could be worked into a CWM install package?
Any help would be appreciated.
Cheers
