AOSP Magic v 0.4 ~ DI18, Deodexed, Zipaligned, AOSP Lock-screen, & CyanogenMod Theme ~
Looking for an AOSP, fast, clean, cyanogen mod type ROM, well AOSP Magic is for you!
A whole slew of changed are coming down the pipe this time with the birth of version 0.4.1, including a cyanogen mod theme, including the white status bar, Pandora fixes, and more.
Both the original and universal iterations of AOSP Magic boost many AOSP applications including messaging, calendar, and calculator.
All of the iterations, as well are deodexed for faster speed and zip-aligned for better performance.
The only difference between the original version and universal are your launchers and widgets.
Original removes touchwiz and all related widgets, and universal includes both touchwiz and it's specific widgets.
All Sprint apps have been removed.
This ROM will not format your data or delete your kernal, no kernal is included you must flash your own or the kernal you were using will stay.
Themeing is still a work in progress, more updates to come.
V 0.4.1 Changelog
Fixed several aspects of the theme including the loading bar, and 3g signal icons and strength, as well as fixes for the battery meter. All thanks goes to Envynet, who has officially joined the team in development for AOSP Magic.
Changed icons for most stock apps to AOSP icons, pulled from cyanogen mod. (thanks to the whole team there)

You must wipe data/factory reset for either to work properly, just follow the tutorial below to keep your data or only wipe to start clean. If you are coming from a previous version of AOSP Magic, just flash the ROM in Clockwork recovery no wipe needed.
How to Flash
Unless you have are flashing over a previous version of AOSP Magic, DO NOT use ROM Manager to flash this ROM, and if you do don't select wipe data and cache.
1. Make sure you have ClockWork recovery installed.
2. Backup your current ROM. (to recover data and files)
- To do this simply go into Clockwork recovery and scroll down to Backup & Restore, select Backup then your current data and setup will be backed up.
3. Download any of the above 2 variations, and put it on the root of your SD card.
4. Factory/Data reset, don't worry you'll be able to get your data back.
5. Choose "Install zip from sd card."
6. Find the appropriate ROM you chose in the list, press the camera button and install the ROM.
7. Reboot.
8. Wait for the ROM to reboot into the lockscreen.
9. Success!
10. Go back into clockwork.
11. Backup and Restore.
12. Advanced Restore.
13. Choose your backup you made before flashing AOSP Magic.
14. Choose restore data.
15. Wait for Clockwork to restore your data and files.
16. Reboot.
17. Enjoy
i can't wait to try it. are you going to undervolt your kernal????

Under volt and overclock kernel's will be available in the near future made by myself, but for now any kernel should work with either flavor.
thanks man. i'm downloading now. i was looking for something close to cyanogenmod.....
I really look forward to the development of this. I don't see any near-future support from Cyanogen, but all I want is AOSP. When you get a custom kernel up (OC, UV) and some screenshots, I'll move over. A tested, stable release would be nice, too. I'm super excited about this.

It's not much yet basically just a base, or beginning. I'm goingo start working on version 0.2 tomorrow with a release more than likely tomorrow night. Have to sort out a few fc issues with using vanilla apps. Thanks for your kindness, and let me know what you think.

Thanks for the support, I feel the same way, that's what sparked my development. All of the rest will come tomorrow in version 0.2 as of yet it is only a open beta. AOSP apk and kernals are on the to-do list.

Good luck brother. Make this a bad ass rom and everyone will praise you. I am looking forward to try this rom.

Do you know if this will work with the Mixup kernel?
This is super relevant to my interest. I will beta test anything you can throw at me.
IMO people may like it better if you include ADW/Launcher Pro (ADW fan here) as opposed to the stock launcher you have included. MixUP kernel plays nice with this ROM as well.
Edit: shoudl've posted this a second earlier lol

I won't bother yet to take any screenshots as it's basically purely stock either with or without touchwiz now, untill version 0.2 hits tomorrow replacing all Samsung apks with that of the standard vanilla AOSP.

I am also a fan of ADW, however for whatever reason it isn't installing. It is included under /data in the zip if you wish to manually install it. Ill work on that though tomorrow.

i would also vote for something unstead of the stock launcher like adw since it just plain works and is stable even though i'm a fan of launcherpro. but i would keep it on /data side (i believe) so it can be easily uninstalled.
So does this have like the AOSP white taskbar etc. or does it still have the black one with the blue battery?

Black with blue. The main thing right no I showing off the speeds of the rom, deodexed and basically just to put something out there and my ideas I'm rollin' with and let the community supply their intrests. Don't worry by version 1.0 it'll be there, just a matter of messin' with the framwork a little.

Are you still going to work on porting Froyo?
I have been given permission to release this, so here's the leaked Froyo beta out for all of you users to test!
I deodexed, zipaligned and pre-rooted it for your convenience. It's been fully tested and you should not need to clear /data to run this. This flashes a new kernel.
We do not yet have a new modem, so you'll want to use the DI18 modem with this.

Flash with clockworkmod. If you don't have clockwork mod recovery installed yet, use my one click root/clockwork installer!
Known issues:
browsing can be slower than 2.1. also checkerboards a fair bit. Try using Dolphin HD or Opera instead.
audio sometimes skips while using 3G
Automatic brightness needs to be toggled once before the brightness slider in the notification bar works
Changes:
v4.2 - speculative fix for (random?) alarm clock FCs and a few other apks
v4.1 - fix some more FCs >:|
v3 - fix Camera FC, add remount script
v2 - initial release
Notes:
Your first boot can take up to 5 minutes!
Install the latest Flash 10.1 from market for best performance!
Do not use DI18 custom kernels on this ROM.
All credit for the original leak goes to noobnl and whosdaman. Thanks to whosdaman for helping me test the rom!
Enjoy!

Looks like it didn't like the compression.
Here's the fixed APKs. I'll update the ROM. Let me know if you find any other system apps FCing!
Remount /system as rw with mount -t rfs -o remount,rw /dev/block/stl9 /system
adb push each of these to the sdcard, then cp to /system/app. chmod 644 each apk
if I flash this can I go back to 2.1 if for some reason i need to go to sprint?

damn nice. Thanks for the release!
Quadrant is not running right.....and my audio fix to increase notification volume using dialer code *#28346# is not working anymore......everything else (besides camera not working on v2) is Great

Is this really froyo or just a 2.1 rom? Also with the cameras fix can I just replace thee existing apks with the new ones using root explorer
Sent from my SPH-D700 using Tapatalk
Its definitely froyo. Its ver. 2.2.1 so its still beta and not its full potential. Having flash alone is great.
Is hulu working for you guys? I installed the flash player from the market and hulu still won't load properly.
Hulu doesn't work on mobile devices. Its blocked on phones and gaming consoles. You have to wait for Hulu Plus App. Its 9.99 a month but supposed to drop to 4.99 due to lack of members.
I have the hulu app from the evo forums along with the flash hex edit which was supposed to make hulu think I was on a pc
Nandroiding and flashing now. Thanks
What a crazy 3 months it has been, with life in general getting in the way of development, but it's over and here is a release for everyone!
For the full list of changes please see the changelog at http://bit.ly/aH0ioL.
*Please note*
All Google apps that are available for download from the market will no longer be included in the CCRoms Google apps package, to facilitate updating the apps the way Google intends.
Also this release is FROYO, Gingerbread will most likely be our next release with this gem version's features ported to AOSP Gingerbread.
The Main Highlights:
Obsidian for the Droid X is now a fully stable build, some minor bugs might still exist, but otherwise it is rock solid.
Tanzanite for the Droid 2 is also stable build, since it is so close to the Droid X.
Emerald for the HTC Evo is also stable for all pre-2.10 and 2.02 hboot updates.
Sapphire is just as stable as ever.
Ruby has been updated to the Miui ril for better connectivity and is more stable than ever.
That's right we are now on 5 phones, Thanks for all of your support everyone!
Now for the important part, Obsidian 2.0, Ruby 2.0, Sapphire 2.0, Tanzanite 2.0 are released!
All Downloads are available under the downloads section on our wiki: http://wiki.ccroms.net
Be sure to read the wiki pages fully for known issues and install instructions for certain roms.
NOTE: Emerald has been having some kernel issues and 2.0 will be delayed slightly.
Looks good, but shouldnt it be "Bring out your DROID" haha
I can almost hear a cat being slung and a bell ringing hehe

Stock looking. Really reponsive ROM +1
file explorer?
How do you install stuff on the rom like market without a file explorer? I think I'm in trouble.... So if I cant install "stuff" how can I revert to my nandroid without clockwork?

Easy download GAPPS onto your sd card, boot into recovery and "flash" Gapps (its a zip file).
Voila, instant Google apps.
Ah thanks! I am unfamiliar with some of the rules... but learning fast. Sapphire on my wife's Droid1 is running great! After installing only a minor hiccup... but I forgot to wipe cashed stuff. The stock keyboard has issues. It will only suggest names, no words, or auto correct functions. Using swift key now. Very stable. All functions work gps to camera. 8 out of 10

UPDATE: New version: 20120804.
Hi,
I think the CM{7,9} DSP library is far superior than the built in one even the one in ICS, so I decided to create an update.zip just for this. It can be applied to stock ROMs or any other ROMs that don't have it.
This update was created from the CM9 20120804 nightly build for Galaxy Nexus (maguro), but it should work on other devices with the same CPU and has CM9 ported to them. This library is for people who do not want the entire CM9, just the DSP part.
Tested and works:
Galaxy Nexus (GSM) - ICS, JB
Nexus S (GSM) - ICS
Galaxy S III international (GT-I9300) - ICS (4.0.4), JB (4.1.1)
Nexus 7 - JB
Tested and it does not work:
Nexus 1 - MIUI
Installation:
Copy the attached zip to the SD card of your device.
Reboot to recovery mode (install Clockworkmod if you don't have it).
Install the zip from the SDCard.
Reboot.
Observe the DSPManager application and tune your music as you wish.
Uninstallation:
Mount /system read-write
Connect to the device (with adb shell for example)
Remove system/vendor/etc/audio_effects.conf, system/lib/soundfx/libcyanogen-dsp.so and system/app/DSPManager.apk
Note, that I am using PlayerPro, and I think this library is way better than the stock equalizer and even better than its own DSP pack. If you are also a PlayerPro user, you don't need to use DSPManager, just use the built-in equalizer. The extra bass setting rocks...
Feedback is welcome. Special thanks for Antti Lankila to help finding the right files for the update and for the awesome DSP library.
G+ post.
Note: The date in the filename is the same as the date in the CM9 distrib.
is it work for AOKP rom??
AOKP has dsp manager built in...
Sent from my SGH-I777 using Tapatalk 2
Hi!
Have you tested whether it works on gnexus gsm on jelly bean? I really miss the extra bass on this dsp. I wanted to have it but cm10 is still not stable, so im still stuck with stock jelly bean.
Tested on Sammy 4.0.4 (Siyah kernel) with Nokia BH-503 bt headphones. Doesn't work!
CM10 DSP manager flashable? (crespo)

I figured id update Oxygen with some of the latest Gingerbread features (some bug fixes, some ICS forward ports), sd-ext support in framework, DSPManager, Flac support, latest _thalamus kernel build, FM support, 720p playback support, im sure im forgetting something.
(all the changes are on my github, roalex under breanch "Wip").
/update:
seams the new rill is causing issues so use the 17 build .
patched thalamus kernel with 2 way call recording support and KSM support(also added in rom - Settings/Applications/Development), updated dalvik with some of the ICS fixes.
fixed camcoder and added trackball wake
todo:
add swiches for a few things i added (like muting camera shutter sound)
hboot:stock or oxygen

Tips:
To enable Apps2Sdext and/or Data2SdExt visit Settings|Applications|Development.
To set the default installation partition go to Settings|Applications.
To move applications from sd-ext|sdcard|internal Settings|Applications|Manage Applications.
There is no Dalvik2SdExt because .dex will follow the location of the apk, so if you install an application on sd-ext the dex will be on sd-ext, the same applys for internal or sdcard.
Do not use A2sd scripts.

Thanks! is this the modified version of Oxygen of this the updated one?
The oxygen 2.3.2 rom by the roalex on the basis of the modified from Integrated _thalamus latest kernel-2.6.35.14_r4 kernel, but also joined the bi-recorded within, KSM support, apps2sdext script, there are some fixes from ICS .
The rom is 2.3.7, has been stopped in April 2012 update, the author also recently said closed down do not do, people used evaluation: faster than oxygen, solid like a rock. The rom and wildmild series difference is that, roalex keep oxygen authentic, do not do fancy things.

God that's fast! Rock solid too.
I've got two questions tho.
1. When I'm at work I cannot connect to wifi, we have a really outdated b/g access point there, I don't know in which mode it runs. This problem is common for all Oxy/cm7 roms but I can connect with any ROM that is on ics or jb. I also have no trouble connecting to my home n wifi whichever ROM I use. Does that result from kernel or RIL ? What can I do?
2. I migrated from paranoid and I really got used to PIE and it's quick settings/notification panel. I have seen that cyanmobilex ROM implemented that on GB ROM, would it be possible to have that beautiful feature on oxygen?
