where to find GPS fix for Samsung Galaxy 3 GT-i5800? - General Questions and Answers

I have the Samsung Galaxy 3 GT-i5800 running Android 2.1
The GPS of this phone is of major problem, often taking a long long time on searching the GPS without getting any results.
The only item I found in Android Market is GPS AIDS. However, this program does not allow me to install, because it is for Galaxy S only.
Thank you very much for your help.

Samsung Galaxy GT-I5801
I bought this new GSM phone in Hong Kong. This phone is probably for Macao market. Now, I am using T-Mobile SIM in California.
Model Number: GT-5801
Firmware Version: 2.1-update1
Baseband version: I5801ZHJH1
Kernel Version: 2.6.29
[email protected] #2
Build Number: ECLAIR.ZHJH1

this Samsung Galaxy GT-I5801 is brand new phone. Not rooted. Original firmware.
GPS is practically useless. It is sitting there for hours searching and got no result. Unable to find any patch to fit this phone. Any suggestions other than root firmware to Android 2.2? This will cause the phone warranty to expired?

same as Samsung Galaxy 3 Apollo or Galaxy S
I have this Samsung Galaxy GT-I5801.
I have much GPS problem. It just keep searching for hours and never seems to find any reading.
What kind of GPS chip set does it use? Does it use Boardcom chip, such as BCM4751?
Is this mobile basically same hardware and similar firmware as Samsung Galaxy S family? or Galaxy 3 ? Galaxy Apollo?
Thank you.

[Q] GT-P6200 vs GT-P7560

Hello all!
I've been getting no where with this by searching the web, and I'm not getting any help from the 3 Samsung numbers that I've called.
So, I'm a T-mobile USA customer who owns a Samsung Vibrant, and the original Galaxy Tab 7. Once I saw the Tab 7.0 Plus and the Voice Call support I knew that I had to have it. I put off getting one because I heard that T-Mo was going to carry it, only to find out the T-Mo version doesn't have the voice calling.
So I've been doing research on the web and I have found the Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus with the 2 product numbers, P6200 and P7560, but I can't figure out what the differences are. I can't find them on the same site to get a full side by side comparison.
Can anyone shed any light on this?
Thanks!
Reggie.
PS: Sorry if this is a noob question.
I have never seen the 7560 model number before, but that would be more consistent with a Galaxy Tab 10.1 variant.
GT-P6200 - International 3G
GT-P6210 - International wifi
??? (Something along the lines of SGH-Txxx) for T-Mobile
For the 10.1
GT-P7500 - International 3G
GT-P7510 - International wifi

[Q] ICS 4.0 for skyrocket

i have a samsung skyrocket i was debating on putting the os 4 on my phone. now if i decide to add the software to my device does it really void the warranty? Also has anyone had a negitive experiance with the leaked version?
ICS Leaked is not for our phone it is for the International version of the Samsung Galaxy S II (Not the LTE Skyrocket). Technically installing a custom rom will void your warranty although there are ways around this in the long run.
Our phone should be updated by March although with Samsung has completed the programing it would now be ether at Google for review or with your carrier to add their apps and testing. Once that is complete must go back to Google for review once more and back to the carrier for more testing.
I would personally wait as the ICS version from samsung will have all drivers and compatability for your phone which is a good thing.
That won't work on the SkyRocket it was leaked for s2 only
There are a few different S2 variants. As was mentioned, the version leaked is for the "standard" S2.
Our phone (which is known internationally as the Galaxy S II LTE, and is also very similar to the T-Mobile Galaxy S II), was announced to receive an ICS upgrade AFTER the standard Galaxy S II and Galaxy Note get them in Q1, so we might have to sit tight for a bit, could be a few months.
Once a ROM is released or leaked for any of the Snapdragon-based models, they'll probably be able to use that to form the basis for solid ICS roms on our phone as well.
I have a baseless theory that we might see it around the time the Skyrocket HD comes out, because there are always maintenance releases around new phones and it just makes good sense to have that ready.

I'm guessing because you don't have the international version is why it's saying it's incompatible. As to a way of tricking it, I don't know, but I doubt it.
Edit: After looking around some more, I see people complaining that it doesn't support rooted devices. That could also be causing issues..

[Q] Galaxy Tab 3

Hi All
I have been trying to find an answer to a simple question.
Does the UK version of the galaxy tab SM-T210 have the ir blaster built in, but the uk firmware does not have the drivers for said blaster but the US firmware does.
so basically is the hardware in the two models the same its just a software issue.
an answer would be appreciated.
