I've been on Perception 10.4 for a few weeks and love the ROM...but I also have a ROM flashing problem...problem is I get bored with a ROM and want to flash!
Perception is a strong daily driver, but I got the itch. Whose gone from perception to ??? and never looked back? I have to know!
TIA
DG has discontinued the Perception rom as stated in the OP.
There are other roms just search the dev thread.

Reported for lock because each ROM can possibly work differently from phone to phone. Please review each Rom thread in the Dev and Q&A section to decide what would be best for you. Your experience can differ greatly from someone else.

Hardware is identical except that NS4G has the NFC and no flip keyboard.
I bet if you flash one of their ROMs and then Netarchy's kernel it'll work just fine.
What do you think?
No... dear lord... just no
I posted over at the Epic forum and they got ours to work on the Epic. But it doesn't just work out of the box. There are some things which need to be moded.

oh you guys are so smart with those comments
Can u post the rom for epic 4g. Ill do it
Uncle Jimmy says hello
No, it's not a matter of doing it. This was a question to someone who could answer it. Obviously the two you've seen were not technically oriented to be able to even have a guess.
The answer to this, if you follow the link I posted from the epic forum, is that some minor adjustments need to be made to the ROM it'self before it can be successfully flashed following with a kernel. If you don't, you'll get an error in the recovery or at best the phone will boot but not have all the functions.
So the guys from the Epic forum answered my question and they are happy I brought it up because they'll have a pure GB ROM on their phone with all the new stuff included.
Makes me wish I got the Epic. At least there, my questions would have been answered better.

wow first, they can boot a stock aosp rom because they have a .35 cm7 kernel, we on the other hand dont have a .32 kernel, or a .35 touchwiz kernel. and yes most of the rom.. should work (save for anything to do with radio) on the epic (again with the correct kernel) and most of the people there are happy because any thoughts of gingerbread give them giggles. they have a gb rom already, its cm7 and its halfway working, but it wont be because of teh nexus s 4g. its because they have some of teh best devs working on it. the reason why their rom wont work is because touchwiz is heavily integrated into it, we dont have the support for that (yet, who knows what someone may try to port over) prime example look at the sense rom and tell me how many of those things are working? the epic is as close to the nexus s 4g as it is to the motorola razr. they share the same radio and chipset and a few other random parts and pieces how the ril is used is completely different, how the gps is run is totally different.
how's that for an answer? if you wanna swap to the epic i know plenty of guys that are in the epic irc channel that would gladly trade with you.
Thank you. That was better than the other post.

i do what i can
Don't flash the latest miui.us version from ROM manager. I just flashed it and there's no keyboard. Can't input text to sign in or do anything!
This is not development. You could of just posted that in a existing MIUI thread.

Thanks for that helpful advice. I chose to post here where someone might see it easier and save themselves the aggravation that I'm now going through. I knew that I would hear from a forum snob but if I save someone from flashing then its all good .
What's aggravating about just restoring your recent backup?

It's not a advice, it's a forum rule.
The Nexus S Android Development will be reserved only for real Development projects and discussion, that includes:
[DEV]
[GUIDE]
[HOWTO]
[HACK]
[MOD]
[APP]
[FIX]
[REF]

This has nothing to do with development. It's your personal comment. What if someone else that has used ROM Manager and updated successfully? You never confirmed with anybody else. You would do this by posting in a existing MIUI thread (preferrably the one you downloaded the ROM from)

There should be a rule on ignorantly posting spam about someone's thread. I'm sure there is a way to report a thread if you are so inclined.
Furthermore MIUI.us often has issues. They don't just translate, they change **** up. I've flashed them plenty of times before with differences that shouldn't happen. I always use MIUI Android. Made by UK but its exactly the same language wise and they don't change anything; they just translate it, deodex and what have you.

Bingo! This is not development at all. Thread moved and closed.
hello every one I am posting this thread to ask the developers if someone knows how to port this ROM (Eugene's Alpha 6 11/22/2011):http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1110500. to the SGS4G
This ROM is from the vibrant.
I have try this form http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1099454
but I could not get any benefit and I think something is not correct in the thread.
If someone have an answer about this question it will help a lot of people because everyone wants to get ICS 4.0...
Thank you for your time developers...
I am on the Gingerbread KJ6 rom from Samsung. Looking to breathe new life in my old sgs 4g. Which rom/kernel is most compatible and stable right now?
Also can someone recommend a recovery too.
Thnx!
Moved Sir please read the Forum Rules on posting in the correct sections. Thank You and Merry Christmas.
I usually go for the most read, replied and maintained ROMs threads.

The best ROM discussions aren't allowed on xda. Just go through development section in ur forum and chose whichever suits u the best.
life!
agree completely with above
OP, best ROM threads are really pointless because each person is going to have a different lists of things they need the ROM to do and what they expect from a ROM. The best thing to do is read through the forum for your phone Nexus S and gather all the information you can from there. There are stickies and tons of threads in Development to help you and guide you. Just pick a few ROMs that look interesting to you and flash them and see which best fits your needs.
Good Luck. Closing this one.
