Follow the instructions on the link I posted previously to make sure you get GB flashed correctly - correct bootloaders / no ext 4 issues etc...
Then check the Dev section for the latest roms - Valhala 1.1 is nice....
I don't use Wifi a whole lot so I can't really comment on that.

Just read OP instructions for whatever ROM you are about to flash...very carefully until you completely understand the process. If you have any questions, read through the entire associated thread as they have probably already been asked and answered.
Just read, read, read. All of the information you need is available on these boards. I've bootlooped and soft bricked my phone several times, and each time it was because I hadn't followed the OP instructions to a "T".
If you have done everything above and still have a question it is likely that it is a good question, and there are a ton of really nice helpful people that will jump in and help you out.
EDIT: GB battery life is awesome.....
yeah and your helping me out is great looked around found this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1215748 seems too be easy too get on GB with no mess up
Just so the ops not alone, I flashed the deodexed and rooted kd1 then the bali 3.3uv kernal. When I try and flash adrenaline shot 7 i get stuck at the boot logo, any ideas here?
If any1 can help you get out of the loop, that would be great but if you can't you can try the following.
1. If you can get into CWM you can try to do a factory reset or reinstall the rom.
2. If you can not get into CWM you can try to use odin and flash a new rom.
the thread can be closed now thanks for all the help htaak

Did you try to manually push the files in through File explorer? Also, I think dsexton made the adrenaline shot on gingerbread roms, so it may not be 100% compatible on a froyo build. You might want to try some older versions of it if they are available.

PLEASE NOTE, I have a Rogers Galaxy S Captivate SGH-I896, On Froyo 2.2
I successfully rooted the device with superoneclick,
downloaded Rom Manager, Flashed Clockwork recovery for Galaxy S Captivate
Reboot to recovery, select re-install packages, FAILED Signature...and aborts,
What am I doing wrong here?
Is there a better method? Every guide I read said to do it with rom manager...do I need to flash the stock rogers GB with bootloaders? then retry clockwork again?

Thanks thats exactly what i needed, i now have cm7 loaded up.
one question tho, while cm7 would install fine i initially tried to flash the ICS port by teamhacksung and it resulted in a bootloop, is there some step im missing? are someupdates only installable from internal sdcard?
You must be on a mtd based rom, which cm7 is, (touch wiz roms are bml based) before flashing to ics. U should be able to flash ics with no problem now.

ok will give it another shot!
Enjoy, it's quite different
Well, ics successfully flashed this time.
Only difference from my last attempt was I flashed a cm7 nightly instead of stable, also once on cm7 I flashed a newer radio as well as the glitch kernel. Dunno what had affected it before but its now running nicely on ics build 9.
Thanks for the help guys, I guess where I got hung up is where cwm resides in the kernel on this device? Where on all my htc's we simply flash cwm over the stock recovery. Anyways thanks again!

The glitch kernel is not compatible with ics, as of yet. It was over written when u flashed ics I'm pretty sure.
Well being completly new to this device was a lot of learning, I still have no idea what I did wrong initially to get stuck in bootloops, but I somehow managed to get cm7 working and then up onto ics so all is well as far as I can see now. Its a backup device for us so I'm pretty sure I will only be flashing ics as it matures. Must say the ics on the cappy is pretty far ahead in terms of usability compared to the desire z, great work here from your devs! And thanks for the pointers guys!

Hello, Im actually a inc2 user, and used to be a fascinate user. A friend of mine saw my phone and is tired of having his slow stock 2.1 ,mesmerize, so i opted to help.
As said, he was on 2.1. I odined to 2.2.1, now up to 2.3....Now I am trying to get a custom rom for him. In the sticky im finding both a cwr 4.0 and 2.5... One is blue and one is red.
My question... is if im trying to get a cm7 or miui for him... what recovery do I use.
I heard you need to be on 2.2 to go to cm7, and to use cwr 4.0 to flash.. however... when I do that... it goes instantly into a samsung bootloop and never flashes. When i try flashing with 2.5 cwr red version, it aborts.
basically my question is now that im on 2.3 what version cwr do I use, and how do i get to either cm7 or miui?
thanks!

If you're trying to goto CM7 or MIUI, then you'll need cmr 4.0 before hand. Red is the custom recovery only used for custom roms running gingerbread or bellow. I definitely suggest checking out ICS on rootzwiki though, it's the best mes/sc/fas rom I've used so far! ^.^

Instructions is in the mes post(http://rootzwiki.com/topic/13774-rom-jts-ics-build-edited-for-mesmerize-showcase-build-6/), not working list is in the fasc post that the mez version is based on.(http://rootzwiki.com/topic/16630-romicsiml74k-teamhacksungs-ics-port-for-fascinate-build-61-0201/)
I'm not sure why your recovery flash isn't working. There's a tutorial here (http://rootzwiki.com/topic/10728-guideinstalling-a-romcwm-recoveryrootor-going-back-to-stock/).
You need to flash the file named "CWM4 FIXED FOR CM7" if you are flashing mtd rom to mez. "CWM-RECOVERY-ALL-3-30-FIX" for tw roms
You might find more help at rootzwiki, this forum died months ago during developer exodus... they all went there

You're mistaken. This formally was the main forum for the mesmerize and showcase; however, disagreements between some of the developers and xda's admin caused many people to move to rootzwiki. We still are and have been a fairly active community.

Ah, I see. No worries
I'm having a problem with clockworkmod app and Eaglesblood ICS AOSP. I've seen tons of videos and comments about how sweet this ICS is and all of those comments are coming from owners of the lg g2x (P999). Seems like I'm the only one out in the dark as to how exactly to get this to work. I'm running the basic NVFlash S/W update (2.3.3) March 11, 2012 baseband. I'm becoming a professional at bricking/unbricking this thing, ha ha ha. For some reason, I cannot get clockworkmod or any of it's roms to install, except the Eaglesblood ICS Aosp. It goes through it's fancy, and really cool, intallation but when it reboots the g2x it displays the LG logo first, followed by the red Eaglesblood android with wings logo, then repeated does this. What am I doing wrong here? HELP, PLEASE!
Have you tried redownloading the zip? Also when you're in recovery you should wipe data/factory reset + format system before flashing the zip
If you are on the 2012 Baseband you can only make calls on the stock rom or CM7 RC3 as no other rom right now has working in-call audio on that baseband
Well it automatically goes into the installation process. Yes I've tried downloading the zip again.

I am using clockwork mod however and I can't seem to get it to work for me anymore

Have you tried reflashing CWM using your computer?
I would advice installing cmw touch. It is pretty smooth and works on my g2x.
If I helped you, push the thanks button for goodness sakes!
You're running March 2012 baseband? I thought none of the CM7/CM9 source were working properly with this baseband. I dunno about the AOSP builds
I was in the same boat as yourself... The information is getting overwhelming at times... it's nice to search and all... Been doing this for a few months already and the different info, versions, everyones versions is getting to a point you have no clue what to install...
I had tried diffent NVFlash + CWM without success. Some people even suggested using ROM Manager (DON'T).
So I got lucky! I fell on a post with CWM 5.0.2.8 and NVFlash to be ran under Windows. Finally that worked! Then ROMS started doing the same as you. Just booting and not going past the splash screens.
I'm currently running EaglesBlood AOSP 4.0.4... This is one of the first ROMs I have had that pretty much has minor bugs. The rest I tried had issues with Wifi and 4G...
So perhaps you could search for that version of CWM, might work for you. (I'll try to find that info for you where I downloaded it, I'm mad at myself for not bookmarking it )
EDIT: This is the CWM install I performed... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=24087341#post24087341
There are very few ROM's that work on the new baseband and last I checked EB ROM's were no exception. cm7 rc3 apparently works on the new baseband, but thats the only one I'm currently aware of.

Any update on your situation?
Have you tried the CWM version I used?
Also, are you using ROM Manager? If so, stop, it doesn't work.
Be nice: first post; I did look around.
Been using CM9 for a few days and want to try Valhalla B.
Any issue with just flasing down?
Heimdall - One click, yes or no?
Any particular flavor of Valhalla?
Thanks in advance.:cyclops:
One click back, Valhalla is a GB rom btw. I would wait till he is done updating it to flash.
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda premium
Valhalla, in its various incarnations, is a nice ROM. I used FB's spin on it when I was running GB. If you wanted to see what it is like, you can go ahead and try one. The are pretty stable.
Posted from my SGS4G, thanks to Team Acid development
From the deleoper section, what Valhalla ROM?
Do I need to go back to stock from being on CM9 ICS.
Thanks
@Je_ne_sais_quoi
1. White's Original Valhalla, Raver's Valhalla Black or FB's Valhalla Black Spin.
2. For the million-nth time... Use a One Click, either thomas' Gremlin Remover or eollie's Heimdall Stock KJ6 + Root to downgrade from ICS to GB, then flash any GB ROM following OP's instructions.
Just in case your next question is going to be "Which one you recommend?", I recommend all so try all and then decide. White's is stock and the other are themed and moded.
Thanks, chris31jct
After 5 hours of searching, I can't seem to get into CWM download mode on Samsung SGH-T959V and the latest Android 4.0.4. and CM 9-20120830-UNOFFICIAL in order to run Heimdall's one click to go back stock.
My CWM is 6.0.1.2 .
I know this is been said before.
Is there no sticky for going back
Thanks.
To get into download mode turn off the phone, then while holding both volume buttons connect it to pc.
Yellow triangle should come up.

Thanks, TwitchyEye, and all others who answered.
I'll give that a go. Nice to know how that easter egg works.
Main reason to try Valhalla BE was the poor performance of battery on CM9, and my reception doesn't seem that good.
I may just have a bad CM9 load or modem load. I looking for any update there.
On CM9:
I killed the DSP app and the google apps running and it appears better.
I might ride this pony for a week and see how it goes before trying Valhalla BE.
Really nice to try different ROMs.
Back burner, and, simmer this one.
