Getting to FroYo - Defy Android Development

I have a rooted 2.1 Defy with Clockwork Recovery. How do I get the official T-Mobile FroYo build on here? Will I lose my data?

How to Restore G2x to Factory Stock Rom on 2.3.3 Update

Hey guys,
I recently updated my G2x to the 2.3.3 GB update via KDZ software update and successfully installed 2.3.3 but I need to return the phone back to TMO and I didnt backup the stock rom. Can anyone provide me with a 2.3.3 STOCK [UNROOTED] Gingerbread rom file that I can flash? Thank you.
PS: If I have another G2x and updated the phone to 2.3.3 update via LG updater, then root it. Can I use clockwork recovery on the new phone to back up the ROM and install it on the other phone that is ALREADY rooted to return it to UNROOT?
PLEASE HELP ONLY HAVE 5 DAYS LEFT TO RETURN TO TMO...

Downgrade from 2.3.3 to 2.2.2

Assuming that I am running a rooted 2.3.3, is it possible to flash 2.2.2? If so, how would I do that? Sorry for the noob question in advance..
This should do it for you:
[ROM] NANDROID Restore Stock Rooted Froyo 2.22 LG-P999-V10f (5-16-2011)
I don't think there's any way right now to downgrade the baseband, but everything else should go back to stock.
Thanks! I successfully flashed 2.3.3 rooted after installing cwm via nvflash. Do you know of any issues that may be caused by running 2.2.2 with newer baseband? My reason for wanting to downgrade is that 2.3.3 broke compatibility with orblive, and I can't get any other music/video streaming app to run as well.

Upgrading from Froyo to v2.3.4; Already Have Root

I have the T-Mobile myTouch 4G with the stock ROM running Android 2.2.1. I have root and S-ON. If I upgrade via the OTA update to 2.3.4, will I retain root? If not, is it easy to restore root from 2.3.4 or will I have to perform some funky exploit?
You WILL lose root. Grab the rooted version from the Dev section to retain root.

yes, you will lose root if you update via OTA. so you should flash the rooted version. saves you a TON of trouble. if you DO choose to update via OTA however, then you'd have to follow the downgrade procedure to revert back to 2.2.1.
Thanks, folks. I think I'll just freeze the updater, heh. I can't be this bothered especially if I'm not getting the latest version of Sense.
Where i found the rooted 2.3.4 ver.?
you can get the rooted (OR UNrooted) version here

[Q] Want to downgrade ICS 4.0.3 Skyrocket

I recently flashed the leaked version of the ICS 4.0.3 on my AT&T Samsung Galaxy SII Skyrocket and I'm very disappointed with it. I would like to return to the original Gingerbread 2.3.6. Is there any link where i can find a Gingerbread 2.3.6 ROM file so i can flash it back into the phone? If not, how can i return to the original 2.3.6? Thanks in advance.
I don't have a link but you have to find a rom that is based off gingerbread nd flash it. Than unroot and u should get updates
You have to use k0nane's tar file to odin the phone back to 2.3.5 and then use the ota update to get to 2.3.6. But first you need to have clockwork mod so you can flash the 2.3.5 related radio file onto the phone so the ota can recognize you are legitametly on 2.3.5.
