h+ - HTC Inspire 4G

is there a way to make phone read h+ or 4g at top on rooted inspire

well on phones like the nexus one, using metamorph you could replace all the png files to whatever you want. so just go in to your theme you want to apply, find the H+ icon, replace it with a 4G icon, and flash away.
in fact, months ago one of the theme guys made one specifically with a 4G icon for the nexus one. the joke being the n1 doesnt have 4g, but people like having the icon anyway...

where do i get metamorph from

Actually you want ninjamorph if you want to manually swap out the images directly on your phone. You can find it in the market.
Metamorph can be used if you set up a zip file to be used with the app.

[Q] AT&T Stock Signal Strength Meter

I've been flashing around between Desire HD ROMS on my Inspire and I found the H+ Logo to replace the H (here) but I was wondering if anyone knew of a way to change it to signal strength meter to the 5 bars instead of 4 like the Stock AT&T Rom uses
Sorry not to sure

Yes!
you can change the icon of 4-level to 5-level, but you shoul prepare the 5-level pics
the icons are stored in framework-res.apk,which position is /system/framework/
I really hope you don't DIY without any specs, or ,your phone may become BRICK! that's mean you should re-flash the ROMs
anybody? i would love to have this back
Modify the images in the framework and the XML. That is the only way.

TPGB2011018 Notification theme

I love the ROM (thanks adam was a big fan of phoenix roms for the captivate). However, randomly my icons will turn grey then back to green, with any theme. I would also like to know if anyone knows a way to remove the time from the notification bar and perhaps have the reception shown like in honeysense where it vertical as opposed to horizontal and percentage with the battery. Using the Galxy green theme. green notification text would be nice as well like in vivid lime for the atrix.
If anyone could point me in the right direction would be much appreciated. Not trying to sound like a beggar just determined to finish the look im going for. Thanks in advance.
The icons go from connected (grey) to fully connected (green). That is normal. A lot of switching is not and may just be a radio issue. Also, the time would have to be modified in the framework, not a five minute fix. Also, the honey comb signal is super easy to do in photo shop.

I thought it might have jad something to do with the radio. i flashed the one you had suggested with the rom. how would i go about extracting the notification icons? thanks for you help.

You're welcome
Keep in mind that different bases have different SystemUI.apks, so while this *may* work for all Sense ROMs, you should use one specifically built from your SystemUI.apk. There's some posted for ARHD in post 2502, and some for VU in post 2040. If you want one built specifically for your ROM let me know 1) What ROM/version you're running 2)what icons you'd like for hsdpa and hspa+ (and other networks if you want to change them - I have G, E, 3G, 3G+, H, H+, and 4G icons) 3)whether or not you want a 5 bar signal mod

Yea never tried these mods with an AOSP ROM...lemme give it a shot and I'll see what I come up with
Edit: Trying to figure out which files to edit and have a couple questions.
A) Are you using any themes? If you are I'll need you to post your SystemUI.apk so you don't lose any of your theme. If you're not...
B) Are your current signal meter and network indicator green or gray?
Also - The current icon sets I have are Sense icons, so they'd probably look kind of strange in an AOSP environment. Let me look around a little and see if I can find some other icon sets
C) nevermind
Edit 2: Assuming you're not using a theme and that your icons are gray...here is a 5 bar signal mod I made from CM7 RC1 (flashable via CWM). Should work with no problem, but, as always, I recommend a backup first. Still looking for new network icons
Edit 3: Again, assuming you're not themed and your icons are gray, the second attachment has the 5 bar signal meter and has replaced the H and 4G icons with "H+" icons. I made them myself. pain in the butt. Flashable via CWM...PLEASE report back and let me know if they're working. Also again, if you have a theme, post a screenshot of your status bar along with SystemUI.apk from /system/app/ and I *should* be able to take care of it

That build is for ARHD 6.0+. Your version of ARHD uses a different base and probably isn't compatible
Post your SystemUI.apk and what changes you'd like and I can make them for you.

If you can do this one, I would be much appreciated. H+ for HSPA/HSDPA+, 3G for UMTS, E for EDGE, G for GSM, 5 bar(which it should already be).

/system/app/ and it was unmolested. It works great, no matter the original source, though.

Skins

Is there any way to application a skin with out it over riding half the themed pngs in the htcresorces.apk?

I'm sure some one has few insights on this…
I hope?

If you want to make a skin then you need to start by modifying your own htcresources.apk. Not sure what you mean by "application a skin".

Sorry, meant apply a skin.
My framework-res.apk, and my htcresorces.apk are themed to match. Now what I'm asking is, is there a way to apply a skin to get the mods in the Widgets and personalization page with out it changing my mods that I have already in my htcresorces.apk. for example the button_checkmark_on.PNG, because apparently half of the phones system uses that PNG from HTC resources.apk and the other half uses that same PNG from framework Res.apk

Most likely applying a new skin will overwrite your files. If the skin contains those files then yours will be replaced completely. So your anser is no.

That's what I figured. Now would those files belocated in the shared m10? Cause I can't seem to find them anywhere else within the skin apk
Last skin I did was for Sense 2.1. Everything has shuffled and hidden since then. I wouldn't even know where to tell you to start.

Transparent status bar

Before I say anything else I'm sorry I'm posting this here I'm new to xda.
I have a non rooted HTC EVO shift and I am using go launcher ex to make my phone look like the HTC one x. The only thing unlike the one x, is the status bar. I have the crappy sense 2.3 black bar. If there is anyone out there who can help me out and give me an .apk link for the HTC one x status bar that would be great. Also I am not allowed to download stuff to my computer (my parents are strict) so please if you post a link make sure I can download and install it straight to my phone. Thanks.
