Problem with Handcent

Just a quick question, has anyone else had problems using Handcent on there incredible? Everthing works like it should, the only problem is that the LED notifications dont work so i never know if i have a new text or not without waking up the phone, it dosent matter what color i change the LED notification too, it dosent work on any setting, just seeing if others experienced this as well
Make sure you have led notifications off for the regular messaging app and turned on for handcent. Thus should work, I've been using it on my Incredible since the day I got it.

dosent work... the stock messaging app has no settings for LED just sound and vibrate, and the stock messaging apps notifications in general are turned completely off, whereas handcents are on with LED blink checked and it does not work, ive tried every color and none work
My LED notifications work. The only thing that doesnt happen is the color change, no matter what color I set it to it just blinks green, but my stock messaging would blink as well so im not sure whats wrong with yours

I am seeing the exact same thing. Hoping we'll be able to change LED color after root, but if not...... I can live with that.
Yea while using handcent, mine only blinks green no matter what color i put it on.

[Q] LED Color chang app

Is there an app for the Droid X that lets you change the color of the LED when you receive an SMS or gmail message? Right now when you get an email or sms is flashes green, I would like to be able to change this. I know that Handscent will let you change the color for SMS, but I don't want to use it. I like the native SMS app on the Driod X.
Thanks in advance for any help/suggestions.
I'm in the same boat. I can get blue, red, pink, orange but the custom led can't produce any other colors. I would think that if we can pink and orange that we could get yellow. Can someone give us some info on how the hardware works? Or is this software issue. Thanks

I've not seen pink or orange on my Droid X.
All notifications I get are green.. when I get a call the led turns blue, and when my battery is about to die it turns red.
I know the original Moto Droid had many colors, cyan, purple, etc.. I hope the LED on the Droid X is the same.
also.. why no charge LED?!?!? I hate not seeing an orange LED when it's charging.. this could be fixed in a simple firmware update.
I use sm_hancent for messagin, and that app lets you change led colot, only works when u get a massage though lol

If you use a 3rd party messaging app like goSMS, then yes. I'm not sure about facebook, but there are other apps like liteflow that can help with LED notifications.
Just as an FYI though, nothing seems to be able to control the GS3 LED properly yet. Colors seemed to be reversed, no blinking, ect... I have changed mine though, using goSMS I have a red notification for new txt messages, using k9 I have a green notification for mail, ect... You may just have to mess with the colors to get the one you really want.
i tried using lightflow but when their was a black screen their would be a green led on all the time.

[Q] Settings for Notification LED?

This is my first motorola phone in a longg time, so apologies if this is some well known thing.
Is there a way to change the settings for the LED?
I like that FB is blue and my texts are Green, but then my emails seem to also be Green... Would rather Gmail be red or something.
Thanks!

Where are the controls to turn on these light notifications (for received text, for example)? I didn't know the default settings used the notification light at all. If I had, I might not have gone looking for an app
To answer your question, there is an app called 'Light Flow' that allows you to customize the notification LED for different events. You can change things like colors and flashing speed for different app notifications (text, gmail, calendar notification, missed calls, low battery, etc) and also add other apps so that their notifications can trigger the LED.
There is a 'Lite' version of the app that is fully functional so you can try it out. I just started using it but I really like it so far.
No idea, mine were on by default haha.
But thanks! I'll go check out the app.
I don't think there is a way to control the LED without a 3rd party app.

Lightflow is awesome!
I now have my led turn orange when charging and green when charged! How did Moto forget something so basic?
Hi:
Thanks to Vector for pointing out Light Flow. Between the mysterious, single, unread text message imported from my old phone and all of the emails sent out by groupon et all in the middle of the night, the green light was flashing all night.Thankfully, Light Flow has a sleep mode that turns the light off at night.
I was ready to return the phone as it was keeping me up. Really appreciated!
Tom

[Q] How to turn off LED notification

I've gone to settings->display->LED indicator and unchecked 'Notifications', but I still get the blinking blue light every time I get an email (via gmail).
Anyone have any suggestions on what I'm missing or doing wrong? I don't want the notification light...
thanks...

Try an app that controls the LED notification like "light flow"
Try disabling notifications in gmail as well?
