I guess this seems like a silly/noobie question, but how can I tell if my Gtab is rooted or not?
I bought it brand new from Amazon. Installed the OTA update to 3588, then installed the Enhancement Pack 3.1.4b. Did the enhancement pack root it?
Thanks!
Yes, I believe the enhancement pack roots the device as well.

Confirmed as working for non-rooted users
These are not Nexus One specific
I've tweaked the files a bit and they should install on a non-rooted phone now, all of the libraries are written to /data instead of /system. This makes the apks inefficient, the largish library is installed with every wallpaper.
It's entirely up to you of course and no, I can't do anything about the performance (but it's no different than the port for root users)...
Just install like any other app.
Note to root users: you're better off using the original version.
Thanks for this. Appreciate it. seems to work fine
Works great for me also...but lags the sh*t out of my phone..so uninstalling
BTW Oceanwave is really nice
thanks for this
delete post please... the shame..

So I can just place these apks in a folder on my sdcard, and install them with Astro?
I have an EVO 4G, Fresh Evo 0.2..I have not fully rooted.
Answered own question: Yes..you can do this.
Brilliant. So kind of you to do this. Thanks!

Yeah, you can just put on the root of your SD and install with Astro.
It works for N1 2.2 Froyo FR83 (unrooted) but even on the N1 it lags the phone quite a bit. I do like the dandelion one though. Maybe someone can optimize it for the other phones.
Thanks for the wallpaper though.

Yes, you can uninstall like every app if you go to
Settings/applications/manage app...find the app and hit uninstall.

Promise I didn't put a back door in there!
Awesome!! Will try it out soon.
Also does that mean it's possible to do the same thing with the HTC Sense live wallpaper as well?? Would really really love a non-root ripped version of that.
Here it is...
New setting: Auto-update apps (presumably, sets all apps to auto-update mode, woohoo!)
New setting: Update over Wi-Fi only
New setting: Auto-add shortcuts (automatically adds homescreen shortcuts for new apps, a la Honeycomb)
Smaller font
New app drawer icon
Microphone (voice command) button in search menu
Star rating chart on app pages
Minor UI tweaks
alls good and working, cheers
"staff choices for tablets"
cool

The main improvement in this one, IMO, is that you can see the app ratings (stars) while you are browsing through the apps, instead of having to open each app description up to see it. I like this a lot better.
Can someone please post the screenshots of this new market on tablets?
Still Stuck on the old Market !!
Everytime they release a new Market... It ruins most of the apps and gives them Force Closes :'( !!

Use a root file manager:
Rename the old vending.apk to vending.apk.bak *back it up*
Copy the new apk in /system/app as vending.apk
Go into your applications under settings and find market and wipe data.
reboot
You should be fine

This one is for smartphones, not honeycomb, there are still bugs with the honeycombs release so its not live yet
Working fine for me... in fact, seems a lot better than the 3.15 I was using previously.

I had to use DPI Changer (free on market). It makes everything smaller though.
So, I'm trying to get this working on my CM9 Fire; however, I am only able to download the phone version from the market (version 1.17.361). How do I get the latest .apk (~ version 2.0.1) from the Market?

See my post above. You have to use DPI Changer, reboot, and then it'll work.
Yea, I had already done that. Sorry that it wasn't in my original post. Do I need to make modifications in the build.prop outside of the pixel density mod or reinstall the market .apk after the pixel density has been modified?

Which ROM are you on? It wouldn't matter what your build.prop says. It's the same APK no matter what.
This is a pretty trivial request given what some people are asking but I don't like the choices of live wallpapers in Kitkat and want to install the water live wallpaper that's been around since the Nexus One.
It's there a way to do that without rooting the phone?
Thanks

Found them and tried to load an apk called livewallpaper.apk. It just fails. On the N5 there is a livewallpaperpicker.apk which there is on the GN so I am not sure if I need that one instead?
The blue PhaseBeam is fine, unfortunately the water and nexus run like ass on the n5. Try for yourself.
good day.

Thanks. I installed the phasebeam OK but the other apkn won't install. No error, just did not install.
Plus I can't find water or nexus apk anywhere. I wonder if they are part of the livewallpaper.apk which I can't install?

That's odd, that LiveWallpapers.apk is what has both nexus and water. I'm running a stock deodexed rom and it installed fine. I do have app verification turned off.

Hello, after updating the firmware on my PRO LTE version, I noticed the following:
- There seems to be a new app called "Play Movies & TV". It seems to be an app to buy and then play Movies and TV. Am I right? Any good point in using it?
- I noticed a new app called "GALAXY Apps". I supposed it is an app to suggest apps for the Note PRO.
Other than these, I don't see any noticeable changes. Do you?

Google Play Store update for non-US. They started setting Shows and Films in Google Play for Non-US users. It would've appeared in the Play Store update, not the firmware update.

Samsung doesn't release a changelog, so I have no idea. (nor have I updated.) it's usually just bugfixes and such.

Enable Survivor mode/root keeper in the superuser or supersu app, temp disable root, OTA it and re-enable Root.
Or of you're not intending to keep Root or re-root, flash using ODIN.
