So far it is very fast, camcorder crashes but power menu and wifi both work. Still testing...
i have nothing to do with this port, im posting because my brother is banned so he cant, and no this is not the same as in the developer section, we he released it there was none other, it must have been the other guys released it few hours after my brother 's build, the only difference is that camera works on this build.

So far this is the fastest Sense rom I have used.
This works guite nicely, liking it ...great job. Get the GPS, bluetooth, and and map the genius button, and this would be awesome. Again Great work..

I messed up the sdcard for stability reasons. BACKUP FILES ON YOUR SD CARD AS A PRECAUTION. I have not lost my sd card files but its safety first
The fact that we have a wimax radio really messes with this rom. I will be going in to add/remove the wimax support to enable data.
As stated this is an ALPHA. This is not meant to be a daily driver in any way shape or form.

Install instructions

2. WIPE EVERYTHING. DATA,CACHE,DALVIK,EXT

First boot will take awhile. dont flip out. it can take anywhere from 5-15 min.

i was using the other desire HD port and it does boot in about 2 seconds, but it's really more like awaking from a hibernation... not a cold boot. very slick!
I will have a mirror up in a moment. Keyboard is not working and when I try to skip thru the setup I get FC on process "com.htc.android.htcsetupwizard"

I am surprised that more devs are not working on this. Usually everyone likes to be cutting edge and bring the latest and greatest to the table.
To bad NRGZ28 doesn't do android roms. He was all over the latest and greatest on the TP2.

First off, damn i'm glad to be back with att and Glorious GSM
Secondly glad to be a way from that gimped Galaxy S...
This phone STOCK already blows away the Galaxy S hacked to hell and back..
So i'm pretty new to HTC, i've flashed a couple friends Desires for them to cm6 and cm7..
And so far i've noticed the process is a little different for the Inspire, but i've found several different instructions, i think i can figure it all out, Got the Goldcard done..
But my main question is maybe a little feedback on some of the ROMS..
I've had some experience with MIUI/cm7 and personally i kinda bought this phone because i knew it was supported my cm7.
I guess the main question in this long post, is cm7 fully functional on the Inspire 4G?

but it seems if i go that route, i won't be able to do a Nandroid of my Factory ROM.. Is that an issue with this phone or is the factory RUU for the Inspire 4G available somewhere?

i was planning on flashing cm7 after i root.. there's nothing wrong with it is there?
Its a non sense so if you dont want all the Sense features the CM7 is nice to use. Im using Phoenix non sense ROM and its pretty good. CM7 was also good when I had it. Maybe the best non sense ROM. But if you want a Sense ROM then go with CoreDroid. I loved that ROM but Sense kills alot of battery so I switched.
yeah i've flashed cm7 on a couple Desire's and honestly i've been wanting it since lol... I like it a lot, so does it improve performance over factory?
Yeah CoreDroid looks really cool too, i see he's got a lot of improvements in that.. but i really like AOSP especially cm7

well, of course the rooting process is snagging up... From that link i posted above part 2 step 4.. I opened terminal the first time and typed in the temp root perfectly fine exited out, opened up terminal again got the FC, tried to open it again and it won't open
And the phone is really laggy now like it's being bogged down, so i FClosed all the un needed processes running but it still won't open terminal emulator..
I rebooted temp rooted in terminal, closed, and same thing.. Rom Manager is installed and terminal emulator so i know the new ROM got flashed, b/c they weren't there before..
Just don't know why terminal emulator is giving me these problems
i'm supposed to type this in terminal emulator:
cd /data/local
./gfree -f
sync
/data/local/tmp/root
sync
would it be the same thing using adb? or would it be different commands?
It looks like terminal is opening now but it's just a blank white screen... i think i'm going to try and download it from the market??? I really don't get why it's doing this
Cm7 on the inspire works perfectly. Battery life, gps, and overall everything runs smoothly and effectively. I love it! Try it and you won't go back, good luck! (don't forget to flash gapps for the google apps)

Found this while searching around google. It's a leaked RUU for the HTC Pico "explorer" which is a light version of Sense 3.5 on android 2.3.5 or most commonly known as "sense zero". I thought I would post it up so that you'll can start porting over to the hero.
The Pico specs are rather similar to our phone so it shouldn't be to difficult for someone to port it over, it's also mdpi so no resizing will be necessary.
If you are already considering taking on this project then more than likely you already know how to setup a flashable rom from a ruu but in case you need some refreshing the following will help:
Instructions:
- dsixda kitchen will need to be installed prior to starting.
1. Run RUU and leave open
2. Type %TEMP% in your computers start menu search bar.
3. Search through the folders in there with the long names with numbers and letters, you'll find a zip file named "rom.zip" in there.
4. Place the rom.zip in the original_update folder located in the "kitchen" directory
5. From there follow the steps on the kitchen menu to setup the rom.
6. Then proceed to porting to the hero. :]
- Download Pico RUU

I'm actually in the process of getting one off of my employer, they lend out old refurbished phones they have in storage in case our personal phones need replacing or what not. I already submitted a report claiming my phone is having some problems, so hopefully by Tuesday I should have a hero again for a bit.
Most people go for some of the newer phones they have in stock but I asked for a hero specifically lol. They're really cool about trying to get you the phone you ask for and since no one asks for heros anymore I'm pretty sure they'll loan me one. =]

Have you checked the log of the flash process? Maybe there's something going wrong with the installation.
Do the following:
1. Flash rom
2. Right after the rom flashes start up an adb shell
3. followed by: cat /tmp/recovery.log > /sdcard/recovery.log
This will copy the recovery log to your sdcard. Check it to see if there's anything wrong with the installation. If everything looks correct then more than likely it's the kernel. I unfortunately have no experience with kernels, maybe jaybob will see this and help out?

ive been working on this off and on for a while, and ive finally managed to get SlimICS to boot!!!
unfortunatly there are many major bugs...the biggest one: Launchers are not working so i cant test any apps
the status bar is working and i managed to enter settings through the status bar and was able to connect to my wifi network, however i can not actually test the internet as i can not access any apps
now that i have it booting though i will be devoting alot more time to it...and it looks like theROMinator and i may be working together on this one so hopefully we should have a stableish version up soon!
well. nobody tryed before because we didn't have any kernel that supported ics.. i don't know if jt's or entropy source kernels will work...

Well im gonna attempt this method on a galaxy i9000 ics Rom today...actually i just finished my science project...i have three hours till my alarm goes off for me to get up...so i think ill just stay awake and see if i can make any progress...

Its definatly not as easy as it sounded...first they wernt flashing at all, i manged to get them to flash...but now it sends me to a boot loop. I tried to read the logcat to see what was causing the bootloop and to my suprise...logcat isnt working!!!! Ill definatly put more time into this though, i am determined to get it to at least boot up!!!! No ETA though, this is the first time ive ever ported a rom...maybe i shouldve ported some gingerbread roms before i tried porting ics...

A lot of ics roms are beginning to pop up...and Ive gotten slim ics to flash however it bootloops. But I'm pretty sure I know what the problem is and after I pick up my sister from school I'll get back to working on it...if I'm right on what's causing the bootloops then we may have another ics rom coming our way

i got it out of the bootloops!!!! but alot of stuff need fixing...i used the following guide to get it to where it is right now:

wifi is connecting though cant really test it as the launcher that came with slim (ZEAM) isnt working) so i cant access any apps...i can get to setting through the status bar though and was able to connect to my wifi
gonna reboot and do some logcats and see if i can figure out whats going on
if you want, i can upload what i have and pm you a link if you want...get two guys working on the bugs at the same time
If you can get BT audio to work I am all up for helping with testing. Just need it because of local laws.

unfortunatly this is being ported using entropys latest CM9( build so whatever doesnt work on that will not work on here...)
i doubt i could even come close to fixing bluetooth...but once this gets more stable i may look into it...but once again the chances of me getting bluetooth are very poor, pretty much impossible...even our best devs have been unable to get bluetooth to work :/

i used both! what i did was this:
got entropys latest cm9, deleted the app, media, fonts, framework folders
then i replaced the deleted ones with the ones in the 3.6 base
i then took the i9000 3.6 essentials and instead of copying the folders i copied the files to the apropriate folders
i then flashed itthe reason it was bootlooping earlier was because it was missing the libandroid_runtime.so
the problem with the launcher is there is still some stuff from the /lib directory needed...flashed one with all the .so from lib and launcher shwed up however touch screen wasnt working...so now to go those logcats and see which lib i need
anyone can join in! please test my new port, blindICE 9.1.1
credits go to blindndumb for the ROM. i will do a more proper thank you in the dev section if this gets passed through testing.
instructions:
1. do the usual (wipe data, system, etc).
2. flash ROM (9.1.1) only. see if camera works properly, like everything. just thoroughly go through the camera. if camera isnt working well, move on to #3
3. flash FFC fix v2 and see how the camera is then. if its still messed up, then idk what else to do. i can only port right now. sorry about that
4. after going through the camera, test the usual things
**if you do not follow the above instructions, it will make it harder to pinpoint problems. i am trying focus on the camera issue, since the rest of the stuff should be working as it should

edit: bugs i found so far:
-flashing wifi calling right after flashing the ROM causes the phone to disappear (well for me it did)
-trackpad currently doesnt work (will get that fixed)
recording in 480p and below works. 720p doesnt. FFC recording works as well, but not 720 or 480. CIF and QVGA does
testing on my side is coming along good. im pleased of the results, and hope to release it in the next couple of days. i know earlier i said by tonight, but things came up

2. flash ROM (9.1.1) only. see if camera works properly, like everything. just thoroughly go through the camera. if camera isnt working well, move on to #3
3. flash FFC fix v2 and see how the camera is then. if its still messed up, then idk what else to do. i can only port right now. sorry about that
4. after going through the camera, test the usual things
**if you do not follow the above instructions, it will make it harder to pinpoint problems. i am trying focus on the camera issue, since the rest of the stuff should be working as it should
