Ok, so I tried to make a transparent or glass-like slider so that the background could be seen without affecting the tab icons though. The result is that the slider is now shown Black, although it is transparent (as you can see in the images below)!!!
Is it possible to make it somehow? I've from some members that it is not.
However I found icons for the clock and weather that are transparent as you can see (credits go to user antonda).
So what the heck???
hey!
very nice thing you tried to do there, however how did you manage to make the clock and below the clock transparent?I'm, using htc touch 2.If you can give me some tips on PM,it would be great.Thanks.
As I mentioned before all credits for my theme go to antonda and his theme that I'm using can be found here [SKINS]NEW Touchflo 2D 2.0 ONLY(Weather/Flipclock) Skins/Themes, posts 1145 and 1146.

Thank You for that link
With Jumba's "I C Thru U" app u can have a full clear slide bar.
Alternatively (manually) you can edit "hh_fw_tab_bg_fill.png" file under "windows" folder!
You cant have "Glass" effect (semi-transparency) on M2D slider and let me explaine you why: M2D seems to be capable of reading only png8 files for slide bar, any png that you ll load to it it ll auto-converted to png8 so M2D can read it and you ll get your transparency png as an RGB colored image!
What is png8 file? It's a png at 8bit (256 colors) also known as web-png. Transparency at 8bit (256 colors) is pixelated so it sucks and it hasn't "Glass" effect in any case!
I hope i helped you!
Damn! And I thought we were getting close to find a solution... what I don't like with Jumba's app is that "cut-off" effect that is created when you slide the slider
Any way thank you very much for the info!!

im not really get it! what did u mean with "cut-off" effect? u mean that in "sliding" bar still stays invisible? can u post some screens?
With Jumba's app, as you can see in the first image, the slider image looks fine, but when i slide and go to the location for example, the slider image looks like it is cut-off and moved. It is not aligned with the rest of the background.
And as I understand there is no solution to that!

Aw ok! Thats cause Jumpa's app actually "cuts" a 240x38 part of image and replace it to M2D's slider. Maybe there is a solution for that im on it...
EDIT: I manage to make an Alpha Transparent PNG8 but still M2D denied to read transparent effect...
@ VIRUSPLUS:so,I I understand that with M2D you cannot have transparent slider, but you can with I C Thru(the thing is,I couldn't make it work on my mega). The question is,if it's this alternatively way (to edit hh_fw_tab_bg_fill.png) how can I edit that png file,in order to have a nice and no trouble transparent slider?

You can't have transparent slider in any case.
You can have just a fake "transparency" with I C Thru or by editing "hh_fw_tab_bg_fill.png" just for home tab! What this means and what I C Thru does? Look at image that i attach
aaa..ok ,now I understand.Thank you for clarification
ok, I hope I uploaded the right cab file (I have a little chaos here...). Please backup your files!
I created this theme from two other themes from this site (Jumba Bluesteel and Black Waterdrops (sadly, I can't find it, but I used parts of the slider from there)).
My homescreen is nearly empty, because I want to see my background image. If you have problems with the homesettings.xml please let me know.
If I understand you correctly, this theme should help you with your slider problem.
Bye
Caessa
P.S. I added to images. I don't have a screenshot tool so sorry for the bad quality. As you can see the number for the sms isn't quite nice, but I hasn't been in the mood for the correction
Your theme
Hello, your cab was all wrong in the Home Setting, but I put it in place and I created this theme, which is fine, try it without fear!:

I'm sorry... I was so happy when I got the theme on my mobile and forget to clean up my hard drive and have too many versions...
But I hope your theme helps everyone who wants a transparent slider
Hello,
I really liked this iOS Winterboard theme and wanted to use it's icons for my MIUI rom. The ripped .png icons in the .rar file have all turned into this black square. I was wondering if you guys knew why this was, and if there is a fix for it. I've seen these icons on a MIUI rom before so I know its possible to have these iOS icons on an Android.
That can sometimes happen when the alpha layer of a png gets lost for some reason. If you copy a png from a browser and paste it into a graphics package it quite often has a solid black background. Could you attach the png file (zipped) so I could open it and look at it?
Sure here's the .png in a .zip. Thanks man, I appreciate it.

Hi there,
So recently I got Nexus 5 after 4 years of HTC Desire. Quite a huge leap performace wise I might add, and this phone is absolutely a sweetheart. The first thing I did was rooting the phone
Anyways, I am thinking to change the color of all icons (including icons of applications) to black and white. I get it that I would need to extract the icons first, and then change the color using some icon or icon editing program or simply a photo editing program etc.
Now what I would need to know is that how can I repack the icons back to the application? or would I need to place it in some directory and fiddle with some xml file?
Cheers!

Why don't you just use a Launcher that allow you to use custom icons? with Nova and Apex you can do it

Icons are icons. The colour of icons does not need xml files. Its all controlled by images.
You can actually repack quit easily, but also takes a lot of effort. You need to look at the villain rom theme engine. It is a flashable zip that unpacks each apk and replaces whatever you have in the zip in the apk. Essentially you would have /system/app_name/res/icon.png (pretending that this is the location of the icon in the apk, each will be different I expect)... but you have to do this for every app.
Hello everyone, I'm pretty sure this is not the correct section for this question, but can someone tell me which .png file I need to modify to change the green line and the black background and dark gray buttons background on a spotify widget?
I'm assuming I should be in the \res\drawable-hdpi folder for these changes. I just can't find the proper .pnj files I need to modify to change the green stripe, the black background, and dark gray buttons background. I'm trying to make it look like the Google Music widget since I have them on the same screen.
