I installed CyanogenMod 7 after I got my Inspire, but I miss the notification bar task switcher which came in the stock ROM. Does anyone know what this switcher was called? Or instead, can someone recommend some other task switcher which displays in the notification pull-down? I am using TaskSwitcher 1.21 in the meantime, but I really liked how the original one worked (from the notification bar).
Thanks!
to my knowlege, no way. it is part of sense. And you cannot get it on cm7

Thanks for the replies, folks! I was aware of the hold-Home-to-see-recent-apps, guess it'll have to do as a replacement.

i wonder if anyone has this problem. Android creates a shortcut whenever I move the app from app drawer to the desktop. however, for some reasons, some of the app shortcuts are gone! they are replaced with default android icons...
I can fix this problem by deleting this default icon and drag the app from app drawer to the desktop again. but the same problem comes back after i restart the phone... what's going on?
Are you using stock sense or an alternative launcher?

Hello, I have the very same problem (on top of the touch screen issues and rainbow artifacts on some widgets...).
What I do is that after reboot I switch the scene to an empty one, load it and then come back to the sense scene where all my icons are (personalize, scene, apply). It works for me.

yeah it's a sense problem. It tries to load the icons when the SD card is not mounted yet and doesn't retry later.
You have to make sense reload. Changing the theme does that. Dis- or enabling any htc widget with titanium backup causes a sense reload as well.
Thanks for the solution.I was also having the same problem...

Yep. I got it with Desktop Visualizer (use it for renaming apps with long names e.g Dolphin Browser HD). I found out it's because the app is installed on SD.
So im a custom 2.2.1 rom. I found the apk for the xoom launcher but it fails to install. "parsing package failed". From what I understand the reason is because my system version. I edited the build prop to show that I'm on 3.0 but it saw passed my trickery. Does any one know a way to install it. or possibly have a ported version?

bummer. I've tried out the honey comb 3.0 launcher thats out for 2.x phones. The only complaint is that the multitasking button doesn't do what it is meant to.instead of bring up the window view of running apps it just brings up a menu. Do you know of any task switchers besides itchy thumb that has a windowed view of running apps?

I'm currently trying to decide if I want to install a launcher. I have launcher pro and not too fond of it. I'm looking at adwex now and I want to get peoples input on the two. Pro's and cons of each.
Have you tried go! Launcher? I'm using it with miui currently and it looks / works great. Similar customization to adw but I prefer go!

I like go! as well but it has one major flaw for me (well, not the app but rather the integration with Android when installing go! add ons like go! dialer). When you get a missed call, you can see the notification in the notifications bar. If you jump to it, it shows rom dialer / log and when you jump out, notification is gone. Normal behavior. But if you tap the phone shortcut in dock and it launches go! dialer by default, you see the dialer / log, but after jumping back notification is still there. Either go! dialer should display notifications in the notification bar so we could disable the android notifications, or the dialer app should remove the stock android notification once event was viewed. Same for go! message app. And go! notifications for dock shortcuts.
But anyhow, I would prefer if MIUI allowed app sorting on homescreen as part of it's launcher. And I do believe this is one of the most sought after features. I don't really like the way MIUI "reserves" blocks for each app and that you must move them to folders in order to sort and that the free spaces left on screen are not used up before adding the next app to the last active screen.
/end rant
I'm not using go dialer or sms. But I don't recall these issues when I did use them. Specifically sms, just turn off default sms notifications.

is there one out there or can someone make it.
looking for a power widget like the stock one for the sensation. but can it include mobile networks on/off and maybe remove the gps icon.
I think there is Power control or something like that... just search in the market, you get to see many...i use the Quick settings Tab, no need to waste space on the home screen.
Try widgetsoid, extended controls, powerplus

OK so one of the features Verizon went out of their way to promote with the new ICS update was the "launch bar". Obviously I know where that is on the phone ICS interface, down there at the bottom. Where is it on the tablet? That would be awesome to be able to keep certain apps and shortcuts accessible on every homescreen. For the life of me, I can't figure out how to do it on the tablet though! Anyone able to help?

Try out nova launcher or any other that offers dock options.

Nah I'd rather stay with the stock launcher. Thanks though!

I think what verizon was talking about is the recent apps list where you can quick change to another app you have recently had opened. Do not confuse that with a launch bar that you may see on a windows PC. However, if that is what you would like to have then check out EOS 2.0 rom. It has this feature of putting apps down at the bottom next to the soft keys. And it uses stock launcher. In fact its what I like to call "enhanced stock experience". Great stable rom, awesome features.
I thought that too except they specifically said drag apps and shortcuts to the launch bar for easy access from any home screen, plus the multitasking button isn't new in ICS. Honeycomb had it too.
Honestly I think it was a marketing faux pas on their side because as far as I can see, the launch bar exists phone only.
