In Asia nexus s's screen will be Super Clear LCD not Super Amoled, Could I flash the Rom to overclock rom or Cyanogen mod rom?
Is any problem will get because screen type different?

probably not. galaxy S [ UK and Asia ] roms dont work on the US samsung galaxy S " whatever its Vibrant or Fascinate"
even though technicially they are the same phone under different cover, they still dont work.
i think its better for you to order one online. the Super amoled is better than super lcd. and you will have xda community support as well because i am almost positive the asian version wont get as much support as the US/UK version " same phone "
i think the warranty is 1 year international for samsung so you "should" be covered if thats your concern
First, Super AMOLED isn't 'better'. I suggest you read through this thread to see which display you like better.
Second, wait for a reply from actual devs. The only difference is that the i9023 is somewhat bigger, has a different screen and a different build number. I think everything that works on the i9020 will work on the i9023 as well, but of course I can't say that, because I haven't tested it.
You should ask it on the thread in the link. There are some people with a i9023. Ask them, they know best.

actually. what is better or not is a personal thing. i didnt mean its better for everyone. sorry if it was implimented this way.
personally i like the colors of super amoled more than super lcd and even the iphone 4 " which i have "
not talking about pixels and how its better to read. just in general. since the colors are better in super amoled. it makes the experience better." for me "
as for i9023 is bigger. this is new to me. i thought they are same phone with different screen. but if its actually different in size it means it has different parts in and thus for sure the roms wont work on each other.
i am not a dev so i cant be 100% sure. but i know that even disaplays have different " drivers" thus, it wont work.
but i could be wrong.
You said 'Super AMOLED is better than...', but nevermind. Not going to have that discussion here.
It is bigger because of the LCD. It is circa 1mm taller, 1mm thicker and 11 grams heavier.
But OP, just ask in the i9023 thread. They know best. Or ask the devs in the development section of course.
thanks for all the answer.
By the way, now I know I can't flash I9020's rom. Could I root my nexus s (I9023) the same way as I9020 too?

It is not sure you can't flash i9020's roms. I have asked it in the i9203 thread and in the development section, now waiting for answers.
And you can just use one of the guides to root your nexus s, yes.

The hell? You realize that is just like the AT&T Captivate. Literally, the design is identical.
Why do you think that is froyo?
Not to mention that is definitely the Touchwiz UI in the picture.

Because, we can grab the ROM and pull stuff from it that we might like to have.
a) I'm going to assume you meant stock froyo with emphasis on froyo, because as people have pointed out, that is definitely TouchWiz which is not "stock" android (vanilla AOSP).
b) the only useful thing we can really grab out of this would be the modem.bin because it likely has HSUPA
c) not development related, let's wait until we have an actual dump or device to dump before we make posts like this please
I like how the Captivate model was chosen for an Armani phone. I've always felt that the Captivate was the more regal of the four models...and the least iPhone-ish (I'm looking at you, Vibrant).

Its not carbon fiber, its not even supposed to look like carbon fiber dude. It's metal (real metal by the way) with a nice design on it that people see it as carbon fiber but its actually just following the way all the other Galaxy S phone's look on the back.
Not Development related.

See these are the responses that are crippling our community. Answer the question with some information and good will versus sarcasm and venom.
Not everyone was born with ability to to distinguish technology and have adb commands hard coded in their brains. Not singling you out man I see it alot. And I can imagine a noob at his keyboard hands trembling in fear of imminent flaming for asking a question.
Yes I encourage the "Search" and I encourage people to fully read threads. I also discourage mobs with torches and pitch forks when some asks a question an advanced user finds silly or whatever. Again just satin this as a blanket statement. Community and unity guys.

Does Nexus S ROM work on Nexus One
Does Droid ROM work on Droid 2 or Droid X or Droid Pro or Droid X2.... just cuz they slightly have the same name doesn't mean it will.
Some common sense helps.
The Does Nexus S ROM work on Nexus S 4G questions I understand, since they are basically the same thing except for the GSM/CDMA radios. But to think Nexus S and Nexus One is alike is just crazy.

The Nexus one is a 3G GSM HTC device. The NexusS is a 3G Samsung device. The NexusS4G is 3G CDMA EvDo rev A and 4G wimax Samsung device . The hardware is very different thus radios, kernels framework, systemui, settings and other system software will be different in order to accommodate each devices respective technology.
Hope that answers your question.

The Nexus One is made by HTC.
Nexus S is made by Samsung. It's not really a Galaxy S variant either.
Why would you want a Nexus S ROM on a Nexus One? I thought ROM is all about OS?

I know what goes into making a ROM. There dev section looks neglected. Found that a lot of the devs don't bother do update there topic if a URL goes down and hell, quite frankly even some of the ROMs don't explain what upgrades they have. One ROM I even found people complaining it was all in Spanish and even the latest MIUI was taken down because of problems.
Go check out the dev sections for the Samsung Captivate and look in any of the ROM topic and you'll see how detailed they are and most even have screenshots.
That's all I meant. This is getting beyond off topic from my original question. Got my answer and that's all I needed to know. Done posting here. Thanks.

Dont see why anyone would want the NOTE. It's a tablet. but that's besides the point 9:
10000% HappY
I Love my Sensation XE . As my first android phone, I was getting confused between XE/GS2 . but when i practically handled them side by side...GS2 were a "Big NO" for my taste. i admit the screen is....but that's it..actually it hurts to see so over saturated color & the exterior look of total body is waaaayyyyyy inferior than XE. I dont give a damn about "benchmark"..as i do play..Shadowgun/ Asphault6 on my XE...and games like these literally fly..in terms of both look and performance. To me, my XE RockS.

That's what I thought until I tried my friend's Note, it's so big that it makes the Sensation look tiny
love my sensation - now that i've flashed ARHD rom..it turned into XE with beats audio with speed bump to 1.5ghz and enhanced audio quality. the phone is very smooth but i have yet to try ICS roms on it. Will wait for more stable release before i try flashing one.
I currently have the Infuse 4G and am looking to use one of my upgrades. The Note seems like it would be a bit too big for my tastes and I like the skyrockets dual core processor. I haven't heard of any new ATT phones coming out in the immediate future so that leaves me with the Skyrocket. Are there any pros/cons or any major issues with this phone? Will I notice that much of a difference coming from an Infuse?
Thanks in advance for your input
I just got my black one and I like it as far as I can see the development is picking up don't know how it was before but I'm happy. I had sprint before but before that I had a atrix and ran some roms from a dev here. You won't regret it.

great phone, and as said before dev activity is picking up ALOT. Dual core S3 with LTE, what more could u ask for. The speed is ridiculous, I could never go back to 3 or 4g. Honestly, my only gripe was battery, but rooted and undervolted I run over a day as opposed to 7 hours when I first got it. My advice, get it
Do not know if it is me but the radio seems just a bit on the weak side for my liking but otherwise I like it just fine.

No reason to be like that to him. Besides, you're wrong anyway.
The difference in actual battery consumption between the two screens ends up being equal to or less than the difference between the 1800ma/h battery and the massive 2600ma/h battery. So yeah, the Note has better battery life out of the box.
Of course, everything can change depending on over/under volting/clocking, ROMs, custom batteries, etc.
Great phone. Fast, okay battery, and the community is pretty good. My only complaint is the screen line issue at low brightness but that's not really a huge problem in every day use.

Hey guys
I'm kind of out of the smartphone loop. A couple years ago I had a HD2 and it was a beaufitul thing, mainly due to the amount of different things you could do with it. However about 7 months ago the touch screen stopped responding and so its not just a beautiful paper weight. For a while my friend leant me her old desire which worked nicely for me with a custom rom. However she had to take it back and now im stuck with my old SE z530i...
So basically im looking for something equivalent to the HD2 in terms of its abilities and what not, I do like high spec phones but Im not willing to go as far as the £500 I spent on my HD2. Is there a phone out atm between the levels of a desire and a Hd2? Whats the galaxy nexus turned out to be like?
Cheers!
BUMP
Good luck with that.....The HD2 is probably the most developed phone out there. You can always just replace the screen? I have heard it is pretty easy.
Just hold out for the SGSIII, it will be out this month. Of course it is not as highly developed but at least it can see when you look at it.....
Oh, and Bumping is prohibited. If someone wants to answer you, they will.

There seem to be enough devs, but we still don't have S-OFF. not many are looking into this prob..
we still need to flash the "boot.img" kernel via the PC, with phone in fastboot mode..
this, everytime when we change to a ROM with a different base.
but we have a working CM9 ROM now, I'm very happy with it.. I can't stand sense >.< and most ROMs are just stripped down sense ROMs, or modified ones
but maybe i'm just too spoiled from the time with my HD2.. >.<

like i said, the device itself is amazing, only bad point is that you can't exchange the battery, and it doesn't have a SDCard slot.
Besides this, develpment is slow, but i'm satisfied now, that we have a really good working unoficial cm9 ROM.
